Our friend to the end. RIP Stella 2009-2021. You'll never be forgotten.

What can I say? Every pet owner goes through it, probably more than once but it hurts every time. Gentle Goodbyes was recommended by our vet in Meridian. Stella had been suffering for awhile now and we noticed her getting slower and less active. She finally couldn't get up so we had to take action. We rescued her from a Doberman shelter and estimated her age to be about 12 years old. Her original owners gave her away because she was too big for their apartment, where she lived with 2 other dogs and a cat. As a result, she developed an aggression toward other animals. She never even got along with our other dog, no matter what. I had never heard of a business that would come to your home to take care of your pet, in their most crucial moment. When the time came, we didn't hesitate to contact Gentle Goodbyes. They came out the same day and everything was handled efficiently and with care. We didn't have to worry about anything and when it was time, it was so peaceful and quiet. I would highly recommend this service to any pet owner who has to go through this tough decision.

Gentle Goodbyes was so fantastic. Dr. Huder and Patricia took care of everything, made sure we had had our last goodbye and were so compassionate.

Truly gentle in-home goodbyes. We were so grateful for their kindness to our sweet kitty.

This was a tough day for our family, for any family whose beloved pet is at the end of their life, but today it was our sweet dog, Indie. After a sudden illness that left her unable to eat, drink, keep anything down, with the vets unsure of why it is happening, it became apparent to us that It was Indies time to be free. The wonderful doctors met us at our house, actually out in the orchard where we were lying down with Indie. They were very compassionate and gentle, explaining every step of the process to make sure we were ok and to prepare ourselves emotionally. They treated our puppy with dignity and respect, allowing us time to say our goodbyes. It was very peaceful. If you find yourself in this situation with your pet (I truly hope you don't), I would highly recommend that you call Gentle Goodbyes. Thank you for your compassion and care.

They turned me down when I first called saying my dog just needed a better place to grow old. I knew, having many dogs in my life, that it was his time. I called again as I couldn't get anyone to help me, and probably gave a better description of his ailments. We are talking about Louie, my shepherd mix adopted from the animal shelter in Hailey in 2008. He was a big pup, but grew into a 120 pounds of gentle and demanding dog. I don't think he ever got enough to eat. His favorite pass time was riding the waves at Huntington Beach, CA, and that is where I see him now. He was almost 13, and like many Shepherds had everything wrong with him except he was gentle, kind, sharing and would defend any smaller animal. He and I are in your debt and find nothing wrong with your pricing. You were so professional and kind. Thank you from both of us...Anne and Louie

They were amazing it was a decision no one wanted to make. Chester live 17 wonderful years. They made the experience sweet. They are very kind and empathetic people. They explained it in detail and did not rush. We know they are on a time schedule but no one pushed they let us take as much time as we needed. So much better than a clinical experience. For us if this ever has to be again they definitely will be our first choice. Highly recommend.

    Herk and his boy

We had to make the tough decision to say goodbye to our beloved dog, Herk. From the first phone call to Gentle Goodbyes to them dropping off the ashes they have shown our family and Herk so much compassion, kindness, support and professionalism. The Vet and the tech took time to walk us through the whole process, asked us multiple times if we have questions or concerns. They showed Herk so much respect in his last few moments. My 13 year old son was with us and they said a few things to him that really helped him go through this process. Gentle Goodbyes do a few small things that were above and beyond. They light a candle, left a white rose and a put his name and a picture with the date. It was such a sweet gesture. Then a couple days later we received a sympathy card from the Vet and tech. A couple days after that we received a sympathy card from our vet. I realized that Gentle Goodbyes contacted them to let them know. This was so nice not having to make that phone call. Then his ashes were hand delivered to our house. They were also VERY upfront with their prices and even accept CareCredit. Gentle Goodbyes really understands how to take care of families while they are grieving the lost of their beloved animal. I will recommend them to everyone. Thank you Gentle Goodbyes!

In July, 2017, we lost our little girl Jack, Josie, to dementia and old age. She was over 18 and towards the end we spent 24/7 watching over her. Dementia in a dog can be like caring for an elderly person, but we did it willingly. Finally we decided that her quality of life was no long worth her and our struggles, so we called Gentle Goodbyes. We wanted to be with Josie when she went to the Rainbow Bridge. They would be able to come that day and asked if we were sure it was time to let her go. We knew it was. so we fed her, held her in the sun, and let her know she was loved. When the time came, Dr. Laura and her Tech were right on time. They explained what they were going to do and we took care of any paperwork. We held Josie as they shaved her leg for the stent and gave us all the time we wanted to give her some final hugs and kisses. Then they did the 2 shot procedure and Josie went peacefully. At the end, we thought we saw in her eyes a look that said, "It's OK, I know it's time. Thank you for so many years of love and care." Dr. Laura told us to take as much time as we wanted to grieve over her and they left us a candle they had lit, a lock of her fur and a flower bud. They wrapped her is a shroud and transported her to the crematorium. We glad we sent her away ar home. We would never leave our pet alone at the end. We would use this service again.

They were very compassionate. Our dog wasn't eating and they brought treats. Our dog ate the treat. We definitely recommend using them.
