I went to another dentist, and he was able to remedy the situation for a fraction of that cost and with a much less invasive procedure. The last straw was my interaction with the periodontist. He "consulted" with me by literally not looking in my mouth and uttering 2 sentences. Then he seemed angry that I didn't consent to have my tooth extracted during that "consultation." It's been several years now, and I still have the tooth. It didn't need to be extracted. Take from that what you will.

I like to be informed and had some questions for the doctor prior to it and little did I know, because of his lab background he would, in his words, "Nerd out" on the topic. I hate to post bad reviews I really do. But this one needs to be warranted…read more Due to some unforeseen circumstances, my insurance changed I could no longer see my regular dentist. I found a dentist that took mass health. So I set up the appointment. Luckily, they could get me in right away as I told him I was having some tooth pain. I saw a doctor Mo. Very personable. I'll be at it seemed like the office was really busy and kind of rushed, but I'm OK with that if the Services are great. It means people like them. He examined me for a bit, didn't even take an x-ray, and told me that"tooth number 28 needed a crown! He explained to me that I must've had a root canal done, but there was no crown there. I've listened to him, but couldn't imagine that I had ever had a root canal done and never had a crown put on. My teeth are not great, so doing something like that is against anything I would ever have done in the past. So I set up an appointment for the next week for the crown. On the way home, I called my regular dentist and explained what it happened and asked them if I had ever had a crown on that tooth that might've fallen off. My memory isn't the greatest sometimes, maybe I just never came back or something. My former dentist told me to come right in and they would take a look at my mouth. When taking a look at my mouth, I was informed that I did have a crown on tooth number 28. And I'll be at a new style crown, there was one there so he didn't understand why Dr. Mo was saying there was no crown there. I called back SNY dental, and informed them of what I had found out. The girl on the phone couldn't have been less enthusiastic when I informed her that indeed I did have a crown on the tooth that the doctor wanted to put a crown on, then it wouldn't be continuing with their services because of the fact he couldn't even realize that it was a crown and not my own(of course this is saying some wonders for my former dentist as if he could do a crown that nobody recognized was a crown. I guess that's really good right?!) I found out after the fact as well that SNY dental build mass health for a different tooth. Not even when they looked at, and not even one that they saw had problems with it. When I called them back to let them know that they had processed the wrong tooth. They didn't care. So I had to call mass health to tell them that the dentist office put in for Services. They didn't provide. Stay away from this place. The fact that this dentist couldn't recognize a crown and wanted me to have $2400 worth of services done without even taking any x-rays or anything? Frightening.

I was surprised that Dr. Paolucci was doing the cleaning. At the previous dental office, the dental hygienist did the cleaning and the dentist made sure everything was in order. Dr. Paolucci was very personable, friendly, and easy to talk to. He explained what needed to be done and in what order. Michelle, the dental hygienist, was also friendly, professional, and happy to be there to assist. I overheard one of the other dentists talking/joking around with her patient. Overall, this looks like a great establishment with any dentist you get assigned. Parking is underground right after the gas station. The office is on the 2nd floor right in the main atrium area when you get off the elevator. Only thing I wish they had was goggles/eye glasses for the patient. Can't say enough about this place! I did have to wait a few weeks to get in my first visit, but it was worth the wait.

BE AWARE of Overcharging! Very expensive for a dental crown…read morewith insurance cost was over $1100, come to find out when insurance sent me estimate was supposed to be $350ish. I did not stay for appointment and asked office manager to have the owner call me to discuss the overcharge, I never received a call (still waiting). If you go here check your bill carefully, they overcharge even when you have insurance. The Doctor is great, but apparently is just an employee and the business management over charges for services. I requested a call from the owners, but I never received a call, not sure if the office manager even informed the owner.

Then weird things started happening. I got billed for work that wasn't performed, they tried to charge me for x-rays clearly covered by my insurance, doubled-down and said I owed them money when I insisted it was covered, and then claimed "they deal with so many insurance plans they can't keep all of them straight" when I finally pulled up the plan myself and showed them. My parents got hit with "lab fees" that their insurance company said should have never been charged under their contract with the dentist. Lots of other "billing errors" that. Once is a mistake, but something was off basically every visit. Oh! And you get a "billing fee" every time their office screws up, which is fun. If I were a conspiracist, I might say that the office is struggling and they're trying to sneak in extras that patients are unlikely to notice. However, it can also be explained by a few bad hiring choices for office administrators. When I left the practice, I called to get a copy of my x-rays for the new dentist. The office assistant sent a collection of THUMBNAILS of the x-rays. Like, tiny grainy pictures for the new dentist. They got angry and insisted that they couldn't get me any other format, and that the files were just really small when exported and that they had never had an issue with it before. After some heated back and forth, the office assistant described the menu she was seeing in the software, I suggested things she could try to export them, she finally exported the images individually as high-resolution jpgs and sent them to me. After cancelling my treatment plan without prior discussion, I felt blindsided and frustrated. The reason given was that we weren't a good match, but I'd appreciate more insight into what I could have done differently. The lack of communication and sudden cancellation has left a sour taste, and I wouldn't recommend this practice to others. Areas for Improvement: - Communication: More transparency and discussion needed before cancelling treatment plans - Explanation: Clearer explanations for decisions and next steps would be helpful Also, their payment plan is not clear and was told the Receptionist would know everything about it. Come to find out she didn't know how the plan works at all. She had to consult with the Doctor.
