For coming in with a migraine on my first visit for a cleaning, I can honestly say, it was NOT that bad. Lol. I am sure when I don't have a migraine it will be even better. I understand that problems can arise, but the unexpected difficulties removing a temporary crown (4 days ago) were definitely traumatic for me. The dr told me it would be a quick removal and I would be on my way. I still don't understand why the temporary had to be cut and pried off, but the process was so hard on me, physically and mentally. Nothing was explained other than being told this doesn't usually happen. It was the first time that the front desk didn't ask how my visit had gone and I wasn't asked for a review. Ì am tough for being 69 years old but this nearly pushed me to a dangerous point. I wish someone had at least checked to see if I was ok since I am certain that the dr and hygienist were aware of the situation. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the permanent crown was placed and adjusted properly. It was difficult to answer questions right after the event. I moved here from another state and needed to get established somewhere. My other half went here and said they did a fantastic job so I decided to give them a try. I wanted to get my teeth cleaned. The office was super nice! I liked the fish tank! Cher gave exceptional customer service. She did a great job cleaning my teeth. I really enjoyed my time there this morning. I travel for work and was working in the area when I decided I wanted to get my teeth cleaned since it had been around 8 months and I knew I wouldn't get the opportunity to do so until another few months I came in and I gave them my insurance card and ID I told them I'd only have services done covered by my insurance So I sat and waited while they contacted my insurance, minutes later I was called in for X-rays I specifically remember the lady saying "looks like your insurance won't cover our fancy X-rays so we'll stick to the basic ones" I sat through X-rays then got my teeth cleaned. Months later after a long season of hard work I get home to a $400 bill. I called my insurance and they explained they were never contacted. What kind of reputable business allows this fraudulent activity! My advice is to stay away, they're just looking to get money any way they can. That can be dangerous. You only get one set of teeth, god forbid they tell you you need XY and Z done to your teeth just to get money out of you or your insurance's pocket. read more

I searched yelp and called several places that either wanted hundreds of dollar or weren't set up to reinstall the healing cap. I came across Gentle Care Dentistry and they were very nice over the phone. They were able to set up an appointment that worked for the (almost) exact time I'd be driving through Las Cruces. They sent the paperwork via text so we were able to fill it out on the way to the appointment. Once there I was in and out in a few minutes and I was charged a very nominal fee for the work. "Gentle Care?" Couldn't be farther from the truth. In an emergency with my child's abscessed tooth, we tried to schedule an appointment with Dr. Markos. Reception was rude, and apparently they decided to punish my son for not remaining an active patient. They would only see us after we jumped through hoops(re-do a consultation visit, pay for the re-consultation visit out of pocket, and only then take the steps to schedule an appointment for my son's emergency) What was the point? Now I remember why we stopped being "active" in the first place. Wow. Dr Marketto: I think you have me confused with another patient. For the record: I paid out of pocket, not insurance and had 3 visits to your office in my entire experience with you. So, what quandrants were cleaned had to do with whether or not your office had 1 hour as opposed to 1.5 hour availability, not my insurance since I don't have dental insurance. I could have done the entire full mouth in one setting because Jene did not cause me pain, but was that wasn't possible. I was also not late on various occasions, that's simply not true. And the couple of times I was one minute late, should not be a problem since i've sat in your office for 10 or 15 minutes without being seen and not once did I complain about my time being wasted. I felt the service Jene provided was worth the wait. I thought you would want to know about another employee causing patients pain, going in without numbing beforehand even when asked and not even providing me with a bib beforehand especially since your practice brands itself as gentle care. Clearly that is not not a priority. Getting folks in and out is the priority. I was certainly told that I could reschedule with Jene, but that she had no availability until at least a month out. When in reality she had availability that same week. So I was given incorrect information in an effort to get me to see someone else who quite frankly provided painful and not great service. I wrote expecting a dialogue after sharing where I could have done better and instead of getting a response from a doctor's office about care and how we could resolve issues where there is fault on both sides, I got a chastisement fir complaining about poor dental service. I called on a Friday to make appointment due to a toothache. Arrived on Monday, for my appointment only for them to turn me away. They didn't take any pictures. They only recommend me making another appointment with them. Why? They could extract tooth, do root canal or cap the tooth. so many options, but Not sure why this office does not make it clear that they have very limited dental procedures. Love Dr Milavec. Prices for cleaning are ridiculously high. They pressure you into signing a "treatment plan". Hygienist had a dentist step into room for literally less than a minute to look at a tooth. Didn't tell me there's a charge. $72 for a quick glance. Really? Scammy. Scummy. The dental hygienists are great, but the integrity of this office is lacking. Many times, you are NEVER seen by a dentist. I recently switched to another dentist in Las Cruces and was "shocked" to say the least about undetected dental issues. I had internal absorption of a molar that would never have been discovered unless the dental hygienist "prodded" Dr. Anton MIlavec to look further. Unfortunately, it was too late to save the tooth through a root canal (which was an option if discovered earlier) and the tooth was extracted. The neighboring molar has a crack which developed into a full blown infection. My "new dentist" through examination and x-rays said I've been a serious night grinder for several years. Why was this problem not discovered and discussed by Dr. Anton Milavec? Even more upsetting is that I e-mailed Dr. Anton Milavec regarding the above and got NO RESPONSE. I called the office SEVERAL TIMES and was assured the information would be passed on and I would be contacted. Gentle Care Dentistry has a lovely office and dedicated dental hygienists. However, the "standard of care" offered by the dentists is severely lacking. read more

I went in to get a teeth cleaning and the dental Hygienist, states to me that i may have to pay out of my own pocket for my teeth cleaning due to the kind of cleaning i needed, Wow, because she coded for god knows what the last visit, and insurance wanted more information, which no longer dental office has ever needed before, this office wanted a higher reimbursement rate, so therefore she informed me i would have to pay out of pocket inspite of the fact , i get two free cleanings yearly. I recently moved to Las Cruces and needed to find a dentist. I was referred to Gentle Care by 2 independent people. Both said that the office was very friendly and the dentists were very caring and great dentists. I made an appointment and was able to get in timely, unlike other dentists. I was welcomed by everyone in the office, and also given a quick tour. I really appreciated how they took the time to ask my comfort level about treatment, and how they explained everything to me. They did not try to upsell me on anything and focused on my check up and cleaning and addressing any concerns I may have had. The welcome gift was a nice touch, and the fact that I received a $25 gift card as well as the person who referred me to the office, was a nice gesture as well. This dentist office is incredible. I was terrified of dentists and had problems with many offices. I walked into gentle care and it was so friendly. The staff are happy and smiling and more than willing to help you. I saw dr Milavec who not only is caring and gentle but great at his job. He got my mouth and teeth done great. I'll post some before and after pictures. Every time I've been in with an issue he has been great and helpful. He gets it fixed and makes the pain stop quickly. The office has Netflix and TV in the patient rooms and is very clean and nicely decorated. The patient staff is great and friendly very talkative and loves to hear about your day. Because of insurance I had to switch dentists and after reading the reviews picked Gentle Care. I couldn't have made a better choice, I wish I had come here sooner. First of all I am very difficult to get numb and explained this to the dentist. Whatever he did, it was the first time I got totally and completely numb with the first injection. My previous dentist would look in my mouth and see dollar signs. I had an old, lose, and worn-out bridge. My dentist had retired. I read all the reviews and went to Gentle Care. I had a new AARP/Delta Dental plan, but there was a 1-year waiting period for bridgework. I could not wait a year because of the worn bridge. Dr. Milavec checked out what I needed, and I asked him how much would it cost. He knew that I did not have qualifying insurance when he told me the cost. I agreed to the cost and he went to work, and I got a new bridge. Nice work. When he finished, I went to the counter and paid what we had agreed upon. The secretary gave me a form to sign and said, "We'll send this to Delta Dental to see if they will pay anything on it." She knew I did not have the 1-year rule. I thought the form was to show I received the work. In the meantime, I had an appointment for a cleaning, which I did not get, but I got a con job for a 'deep cleaning' to prevent bleeding gums which I did not need. I didn't fall for that. I have never had bleeding gums. Delta Dental told them they did not charge me enough for the bridge work. I complained to the dentist and he said that they had a contract with Delta Dental to charge a certain amount. He offered me half of the $1,000 in return. I took it to keep from hiring a lawyer or going to magistrate court myself. I got flimflammed royally. Never again with Gentle Care. It was gentle all right. I'll get it in writing next time, somewhere else. read more

Absolutely recommend this dentist office! Have been going here for many, many years. I have gone to other offices when friends gave me a referral card or discount offer and there is a big difference! I'd never do that again. Other offices ended up giving me a list of procedures that amount to a couple of mortgage payments, along with heavy pressure tactics to commit to them! This office is always clear on what needs to be done and I've never felt like they are adding on unnecessary services. They are sensitive when a patient has a real fear of dental work.
