It was self serve and there were cups all over the ground. By the time we got to the second water stop there was no water left. And at the finish line they also ran out of water. It was very hot out and several people fainted due to the heat and lack of water. Emergency ambulances were called for those who fained. We had signed up for this event in March 26 and the event took place is Sept 26. That was plenty of time to prepare for the amount of people who signed up for the race. They also served red wine at the finish line which only makes people hotter. In the FAQ's they showed the route which went through the vineyards. We ran and walk on pavement through neighborhoods where there was little to no shade and it was extremely hot. Haak Winery did a very poor job organizing this event and actually put people in danger by not providing enough water and other methods like misting stations to cool people down. Do better Haak Winery. I will never go to another run hosted by Haak Winery. Very disappointing.
