They need to put a sign up on the tiny road so you don't pass it up. First I will say I came here for a baby shower in one of the private rooms they offer. I cannot comment on the service because I did not need any. I also cannot comment on the food; it was provided by the party. What I can comment on is the parking - it was absolutely horrible! And that is being kind. They had a few spaces available in a field but to get to those spaces you had to drive through a 5 foot hole that was at least 4 feet deep! Thanks but no thanks I don't do off roading! At 2pm this place was packed! There was a DJ, people everywhere, small children everywhere and quite a few dogs. All in all, I am giving the stars for private room because that is what my experience consisted of.

Got a $15 tasting which is a bit steep in my opinion. Thinking $10 would be a better starting point. To add any additional available wines/port to your tasting comes with a $3.50 per taste add-on. I also think that is high. Cheese and wine plates -- $7.00 fee. The reds were pretty decent wines. Their whites are in the $30 range and their reds are in the $40 range. They are boutique so wines can only be found at the winery or through their direct wine club. Staff is eager and helpful. I thought the friendliness factor was definitely welcoming. The winery is available for events and private parties. They are currently working on the patio and I expect it to be really nice come fall weather. They also offer catering options. Would be a great venue for many types of get-togethers. Pretty fun option in Houston. I think it will lead the way for more wine rooms like this. I recommend sharing a tasting to save some money. They do not waive tasting fees for any bottles purchased. Support local business but be smart!

Brewery #399 I…read morestarted here on my brewery hopping day in Houston recently. Why did I start at Great Heights you ask? Because they open at 11am on Fridays! That may sound like no big deal; except they don't have a kitchen. They encourage day drinking. My people! I ordered a flight and they offer 6-beers in their flight. Again, my people! I got 3 different IPA's, a coffee stout, a kolsch, and a hefeweizen. I liked all of them but The Whammer hazy IPA was my favorite amongst them. The atmosphere was relaxed and chill. The place had a few people enjoying a pint while looking at spreadsheets on their laptop, another guy all decked out in spandex (it's more fun saying it that way then saying a cyclist) and a few couples. Lots of plants so my ladyfriend would dig it too. The music was perfect for me and it ranged from Zeppelin to Earth Wind and Fire to The Smokey and the Bandit theme. Definitely a spot I will repeat when I come to Houston and if I were a local, I would be a regular.

Work took me out of town for a bit and I came back to find the regular bartender/manager gone - probably some cost-cutting move - the two kids they pulled from check out to run it weren't old enough to drink, much less know anything about beer or wine, the selections were few and basic and apparently the regulars abandoned it for a micro brewery across the street. I gave it a month to see how things shook out and now it's unmanned every time I go by. At this rate Cork and Tap will be closed by the end of summer - assuming it's still even open.
