I cared for an elderly friend of mine who needed 24/7 assistance. I hired Nurses with Heart to…read morecare for her, so I knew she would have someone constantly with her to feed, bathe, clothe, and take care of all her needs. She was in her 90's, and had dementia. Not only was Nurses with Heart there to make sure she lived her best life during her final years, they were there until the end, and I do mean end. I got the call at 3am in the morning that my friend had passed. Not only did the owner of Nurses with Heart meet me there, she let her caregiver go home, and stayed with me until the funeral home assistants arrived. Carolyn Moore the owner, myself, and the two funeral assistants carried my friend down to the stretcher because the elevator to her apartment in the assisted living facility was too small to accomodate the stretcher. No one at the assisted living facility could be found to help. It was quite a journey, believe me from beginning to end, and Carolyn was there all the way. If you are looking for a company that truly cares, has compassion, great caregivers, and does exactly what they say they will do, you will want Nurses with Heart to care for your loved ones. I went in for open heart surgery on Monday. The 17th of August, I was home. The following Friday…read moremorning. I live alone and I was expecting a nurse. Come Monday, or at least a call. Until I called, it was almost 2 weeks post surgery. And we have to call, to get somebody to The house. I got no physical therapist from these people to help show me how to move. And operate after having open heart surgery I would not recommend them at all. They were not on top of their game and made me feel like I was not a priority. The nurse that came out was wonderful when she was here. Then when the time was extended, nobody called me to let me know that nobody would be here on Tuesday. So nobody came and nobody came on Thursday. I had to call in to find out that I had been moved to Friday, and I didn't know for sure that they'd even show up because nobody had called, we ended up having to fire them. Long story short, he stole a lot of money from my sister, he alienated her from her friends, her neighbors and our family. He convinced her to remove me as POA and he took over her bank accounts by lying to her. When he was finally fired, he moved in with her. This all happened in less than three months. He seemed as though he was a seasoned scam artist. He took off with her when the police arrived to serve the Order of Protection. Multiple welfare checks by police, multiple reports to adult protective services and finally court dates convinced my sister he was not going to marry her and she began to realize the truth. It was an absolute nightmare. I don't know what kind of background check they did on this Lowlife, if any. Not to sound sexist, but perhaps they should revisit their policy of sending male caregivers to wealthy widows.
