I was at Elmhust hospital in Queens first and they did not want to operate on me because it was too much of a high risk surgery and they sent me home and hoped for the best. Dr Rochman performed surgery on me at St. Joseph Hospital in Bethpage Long Island, NY, he operated on me three times to save my life and he never gave up on me, even when the hospital decided I should go to hospice, he still insisted I can be saved and he did save my life. Everybody at St. Joseph's who knew about my case will say that Dr. Rochman saved your life and he would not give up on you. They say Dr. Rockman did what other surgeons were scared of doing, he operated on me and even when the recovery was very difficult he knew he could save me and he did it. He operated on me a total of six times, he preformed a jejunostomy proximal, jejunostomy distance, illeonostomy and colostomy, I had four tubes attached to my abdominal are all at once , I was relaly very sick, one by one He closed the ostomies and the las one was the colostomy that took little over a year to be closed. Dr. Rochman didn't even charge for the last two surgeries. This person is the best and kindest and caring human that God has placed on this earth, right now my eye are tearing for the gratitude to him. I was adamant that I would/could note proceed with treatment if it wasn't varicose veins due to the cost. There was an sonographer onsite and the the ultrasound was completed immediately. Indeed I had no varicose veins, only spider veins. My insurance was billed $699 (for the ultrasound) with my portion being $531.73. My issue is that I was painfully clear that cost was a concern, the ultrasound could/should have been ordered outpatient (requiring insurance pre-approval) and/or at the very least there should have been transparency regarding the cost.

Totonelly, one of the finest medical doctors in the Hudson Valley, with over 30 years of experience. In my first visit to Dr. Totonelly an ultrasound was performed on both my legs which helped to identify damaged veins. I was then very well educated by Dr. Totonelly regarding the varicose vein treatment I was to receive to relieve my vascular problems. I was really happy when my Aetna insurance approved the surgery, called Endovenous Ablation. That surgery was done in the office under local anesthetic and no hospitalization was required. It took approximately 45 minutes per leg, which were surgically repaired with a one week interval between the two surgeries. In both instances I was able to walk without any problems the same day of the respective surgeries. Amazingly, within a couple of weeks after the surgeries I STOPPED FEELING burning and annoying pain in my legs. Complete waste of my time…read more I arrived early, filled out the long e-verification and history chart and got an ultra-sound prior to my visit as mandated by my insurance company. I had to wait 1 hour and 15 minutes to see the doctor, the practice wanted me to take another ultra-sound because they didn't read my chart and realize I had already taken an ultrasound the week prior and had sent the chart and scans to them. Doctor didn't look at my leg nor my chart nor my personal history. Entire visit could have been covered in an email. Go get a pair of compression socks and come back in 3 months. $50 co-pay and half a day off work for that, wow thanks. You couldn't tell me that on the phone? No educational materials, no consult, and doctor was visibly annoyed the entire time. I have no idea why. Bizarre. Leg has been throbbing for 2 weeks, low level pain but difficult to sleep, that's normal according to this practice. Again, could have been a phone call or email.
