Difficulty with Bill Pay when a check they sent to a vendor was intercepted by someone else. The experience in trying to get the necessary info, and finally get my money back wasn't the best but it did got done so that's good. 2. eStatements never show up until 2 or more days after the first of the month. It's now Thursday, December 4 and I still don't have my November eStatements. I'd say this is my biggest pet peeve with Unitus. I also use First Tech Federal CU and I get my eStatements from them on the first, unless that's a Sunday.

I thought that being a "credit union", they were on the side of the consumer. Was I ever wrong. During the pandemic, I found myself unemployed for a few months, and OnPoint basically screwed me over. Despite my having spoken to them and enrolled in their hardship program, they closed my credit card, which put my debt-to-credit ratio way out of proportion, causing my credit score to dive, which resulted in several of my retail cards (Home Depot, Best Buy, etc) to be closed (despite having 0 balance), which caused my credit score to spiral even further, from over 700 down to 560. When I got another job, and had paid all my accounts well under their limits, I asked them to reopen the card (after paying down several thousand dollars in only a couple of months) they refused, demanding 12 months of on-time payments. Apparently my 15 previous years with them means nothing. Well, I won't be there in 12 months. I'm moving to First Tech and won't be back.

My husband and I were attempting to bump a contingent offer and everything was on the line. We were out of a month-to-month apartment, and if things fell through with our financing, we'd lose our dream home AND have nowhere to live. I was quitting the worst job of my life to start a new one, and was working a lot of hours. Long story short: James' team made the entire process easy and seamless. Working with someone local was paramount. When I made a few mistakes with documentation and paperwork, I was able to just drive it over to their office to make it right in less than 24 hours. They even stayed after hours to make sure I could drop things off. They were comforting and reassuring and really listened to me, and most importantly, they got the job done. Dan and Siobhan met with me and were incredibly generous with their time even though they knew I wouldn't be ready to apply for a year at least. They gave me excellent advice, answered my questions, gave me worksheets and information, and pointed me to local tax credit programs I didn't find in my own research (like the Portland Mortgage Credit Certificate). But the ATM is SO annoying. There is one, and it is broken more often than not. This is a huge inconvenience, so I wish they'd either have 2 ATMs or just make sure that the one isn't broken.
