I came in just to get a doctor's note for the cold I had. They prescribed me amoxicillin when I told them I was allergic to penicillins. I had to go back in the building because they forgot to give me the doctor's note. Then they gave me a call 10 minutes later to pick up 2 extra prescriptions when I was just there. I declined. was having a kidney stone attack. They did a test of my urine, it showed blood as well asmy blood pressure being high and i in obvious distress. The FAT PA or NP (she asuan or something) told me the blood in my urine was normal for someone my age, im 40, and that dince she thought i was drug seeking, she could ONLY offer Tylenol. I wound up going to a real emergency room and they said i had 3 kidney stones that were stuck and id need surgery. THAT WAS IMMEDIATELY AFTER I LEFT GENESEE URGENT CARE. WTF????? Thankfully my husband is a lawyer and he'll be taking things ftom here. I found out later that others have had similar experiences. read more

I usually don't go out of my way to "snitch" on an employee because I know everyone can have bad days, however, I was so appalled by how I was being spoken too I feel I needed to bring it to someone's attention. I called to see if I could have a shoulder blade x-ray which yeah would probably be right there in that spinal area and they told me they can't do any back x-rays but they do x-rays there I didn't understand what the difficulty was about checking the area and seeing what's going on. I took my dad to Genesee Urgent Care on a Linden Rd today. They were able to do an X-ray on site which was so nice. Since my father walks with a walker I was glad to not have to go to another location for an xray. The front desk girls are always pleasant was really impressed with Jennifer the PA and how she interacted with my dad. I always visit this location when needing urgent care which is not the closest to my home but I think the best care around. read more

Would NOT recommend this urgent care. Will go to Lifetime on Hill rd from now on! The receptionist was a complete B**ch. I went in because I had a home Covid test come back a faint positive and I had to go there to get a PCR Covid test done for my job. I walked in and signed in, was not acknowledged until 15 minutes later when they called me up to have me fill out paperwork. After I was done, filling it out, I took it up to the counter and asked the receptionist how long it was going to be and she asked why. I told her I had a home test show a faint positive and needed a pcr test. She loudly in-front of everyone said they why the heck are you here contaminating everyone you need to leave right now. She took the clipboard and threw it, grabbed Clorox wipes and started wiping everything down. I tried to explain I needed test for work and she kept talking over me that I needed to leave. I was there twice this week. The first time I was having a lot of nasal drainage and possible upper respiratory infection The PA didn't give me any prescriptions but told me to come back if my symptoms got worse to come back . I had a COVID test just to be safe. I Was treated fine by staff. well I came back on Sunday and it was a totally different story. I was getting my vitals taken when a lady that worked there I have no idea who is was yelled at me from the hallway you can't be here if you have COVID you have to leave. I have no idea if anyone else was around and heard it but she broke HIIPA rules and embarrassed me as well So they will test you for Covid but not treat you NOT COMPASSIONATE and down right rude. read more

I was treated so RUDELY BY THE MEDICAL ASSISTANT!!! she called my name and I guess I did not move fast enough for her because when I reached the door she turned around and the door closed!!! She came back and said ready, I told her that I came to the door the first time and she turned around and the door closed, she said no I didn't!!! Then she said that my husband could not come back with me, when I was just there with my daughter a week ago and she is grown and I went back with her!!! I told her he is my husband and I want him with me and he is coming!!! Then they finally put me in a room and made us wait for 30 minutes!!! Then the PA came in and did not even check my nose or my throat, when I was there for a Sinus infection!!! This place is great. Friendly, fast service. The staff (all) is courteous,compassionate,and always smiling. The ambience is subtle & relaxing which is rather unusual for an doctors office. I guess it helps you put you at ease before seeing the doctor or medical assistant. On top of that,they're open daily from 9am~9pm....how's that for convience! Been to both locations several times. Being a foster parent we can't usually wait until the ped's open. We have to get the kids seen and evaluated asap when symptoms come up. We have seen a few different doctors but the female doctors are my favorites. Dr. Glenda is awesome and the other one I can't remember her name. Both have been compassionate and patient with these kids who trust no one and are scared to death. They always make the kids comfortable and give us Rx's if needed. read more

Had a horrible experience at Swartz creek office today. First time going, although it's 1 min down the road for me. My primary care physician is closed on the weekends and I started getting a sore throat late Friday. It escalated Saturday to fever with chills + weakness and headaches. I called there twice and many other Clinics around to find an affordable way to go about treatment. I have a high deductible plan so it's all out of pocket for me until it's met so it's essentially the same as not having insurance. First time I called around I asked if they were in network for BCBS of mi. She said yes and first visit was $140. After Calling other places and forgetting the details as again I am sick with a horrible head ache I called them again. Planning to come in I asked how much first visit was and how much for a strep throat screening as a child my family babysits had it this week and my symptoms it seemed likely I needed antibiotics. I was told the first visit was $85 and screening was $20. It was a different person this second time who said $85 without asking about insurance. Upon arrival I filled out the paperwork and checked pricing again, as I handed my license to them. I also asked even though I'll be paying out of pocket if they needed my insurance card as well. The main woman then said "oh if you have insurance it's $140". I was again sick and trying to be able to afford the care I needed, I somewhat rudely expressed how that seemed ridiculous to punish me for having insurance to which she said its quite normal. I sadly had few choices and agreed to be seen anyway. After being taken back by the nursing assistant and getting weighed and vitals I told the nurse I apologize for being rude, I simply feel very bad and trying to find an affordable way to be treated. The main woman from the front bursts in the door and says "I played back your Calls, and you're being deceptive. You first talked to me and asked if we were in network for bcbs, then called again and talked to her (nurse) and she asked if you were paying cash and you said yes". To which I snapped back "listen to me, as soon as we got in the room here I apologized for any rudeness to the nurse, to say I was being deceptive is offending. I am paying out of pocket here and trying to find a way to feel better I can afford. I called many places around trying to find a good price and was happy to hear $85 on my second call. i am not being deceptive. I don't feel well!" She quietly left the room. Nurse swabbed my throat for strep test and leaves saying dr will be in shortly. To my surprise the nasty woman from the front comes in 7 min later and is the dr. She says I'm negative for strep, checks my throat and ears. Says it doesn't look or SMELL like strep so it's probably viral. Just treat the symptoms with Tylenol and Motrin or ibuprofen and ride it out. Also take some Claritin for liquid on my left ear. Charges me the $160 and sends me out with no prescription, no help at all and takes my $160 with a smile. I was so distraught at being treated that way sharing my experience here in full was all I could do. I feel cheated and robbed. They had 0 compassion and I feel didn't even really check me out at all fairly. Will never return and if this review even saves one single person an experience like mine it's worth it. read more

This review is for the Swartz Creek office. I thought I was getting a UTI but as the morning progressed, so did the pain and intensity. It was 12:05 pm and my dr office's was close for lunch. Knowing this place was open, I drove straight there. I was the only client and it was fast and seemingly friendly (that's where the 2 stars come from). I told them my symptoms, etc. A urine sample was needed. The doctor comes in and asks if I could be pregnant. I said no way in a million years and gave all the reasons, including I just had major surgery 10 days prior. She said she did a pregnancy test on my sample and it came back positive. She said she can do it again or do a blood draw. I said she could do it again but I know based on these reasons (listing them) there was a zero chance. Well it came back positive again. I really didn't know why they had so much emphasis but I am in so much pain, I just wanted to start a script. I thought they sent me off to pick up two prescriptions. I got to the pharmacy and not only did they change the one but cancelled the other. When I called and asked why, they put the doctor on the phone and she said I was being deceptive, implying that the pregnancy tests don't lie. Long story short, I went to my regular doctor. I was passing a kidney stone and didn't even have a UTI - and pregnancy wasn't even considered. I would NOT recommend this place. Go to the one in the Kroger plaza or a Genesys after hours; just not here. I am definitely getting the word out on the lack of professionalism! read more

I have been to both locations, Flint and Swartz Creek, for emergency service and each time I've gone, I've received excellent, proffesional care. Each of my family members have been treated on occasion and we have all left feeling satisfied and happy with our experience. Everyone from the front desk staff to the doctor that I saw were welcoming, courteous, and helpful. I'm very thankful for a team thats so attentive to patients needs and listens to their medical concerns fully. I will definitely use this center again if a need arises! read more

I will share my experience with Genesee Urgent Care and you can decide if you would trust your care to them. My daughter went to the clinic this past Saturday night with a complaint of discomfort and pain. She was examined by a physician assistant. After being examined the physician assistant advised her that a prescription was being prescribed. She was told that the prescription would be filled at the Walgreens down the road from the clinic. My daughter went straight to Walgreens and discovered that the pharmacy was closed. She returned to the Walgreens on Sunday morning. The pharmacist advised her that they did not have a prescription for her. The pharmacist advised that they would call the clinic. After calling the clinic the pharmacist advised her that the receptionist at the clinic was not helpful and that she needed to go back to the clinic. My daughter went back to the clinic and explained the circumstances to the receptionist. My daughter was advised that nothing could be done right then. My daughter returned home and through out the day her mother called the clinic on three different occasions trying to get the prescription filled. Mind you, this was a prescription that was prescribed for discomfort and pain on the previous night. Each time that her mother called the clinic she was put off. She was told they were looking into it, that they were trying to contact the physician assistant, that they were not allowed to contact the physician assistant, that she could not talk to the doctor or physician assistant on duty. At on point she was told that they would send the prescription again and that they would call back to tell her when that was done. When they never called back she called the clinic again. She advised them that she wanted to make sure that the prescription was sent to the pharmacy before it closed. At this time she was advised that the records did not show that a prescription was prescribed by the physician assistant. When she asked to speak to someone else she was told there was no one else. When she asked the receptionist for her name the receptionist refused to provide a name and hung up on her. My wife called back and spoke with a receptionist that identified herself as Lisa. She advised that she was not the receptionist that hung up on her. She again advised that the records did not show that a prescription had been prescribed and that they could not do anything without talking to the physician assistant that provided the care. I personally went to the clinic. The receptionist that I spoke with identified herself as Lisa. I asked her why when my daughter had returned that morning they did not have her see another doctor or physician assistant and she could not say why. I asked her who I could talk to about my complaint and she advised me that the office manager was Kelly Phillips. After asking for a business card one was provided. On Sunday I called the number listed on the card for Kelly Phillips. The call went into her voice mail. I left a message for Kelly Phillips. I provided her with my name, my telephone number and explained why I was calling. I requested her to call me back. I was never contacted by Kelly Phillips or anyone else from the clinic regarding my concerns about the care and services provided to my daughter. read more
