During your first house meeting you are instantly welcomed into the Carla Vista Family and become connected to an immense network of exclusive resources and incredible people that will help you get Sober and stay Sober. Not only do you get Sober, they teach you real life Skills on how to maintain your Sobriety and how to actually apply these skills to help build a successful life. Accountability is a strong theme here and thorough it you learn how to finally manage your life. The homes are extremely clean, spacious and peaceful. The beds are super comfy and everything else is well maintained. There is a great sense of structure and peace that resonates in each home as well. I've been here for 4 months in the "Murphy House" In Gilbert and in this short time, they helped me get a Sponsor, a Job, and now I have a car and have gotten back on my own 2 feet. My Mom cannot stop praising me or the program for the dramatic changes I've experienced within these past few months especially with my new outlook and attitude with my life. I honestly could not and would not have gotten this far if I was anywhere else but Carla Vista. Thank you Tom and Jon and Laura for keeping it real, and to all the House Managers who work hard to maintain a high standard of Sober Living. Whoever left the review about Daniel is lame. He is my Grandsponsor and is an incredible person with over two years of Sobriety thanks to Carla Vista, he has recently graduated from the program, still comes to the Carla Vista meetings as an Alumni to offer his support, now has his own place, an incredible job and is the finest example of what Carla Vista can do for you! A+++++++

The houses have rules and structure but it's only to help you and help you to live a normal life again. I'd highly recommend Carla vista to anyone looking for a sober living!

But over time, things have changed -- not just for me, but for others who've come through here. What once felt like a supportive environment has started to feel like it's more about money than recovery. The tone has shifted. There's less compassion, more control. I've experienced moments where respect felt one-sided, and accountability was selective. For example, rules have become more restrictive, and staff decisions are sometimes explained in ways that don't reflect the reality many of us see or feel. There have even been claims of being "fully self-supporting" despite visible state involvement. When I first arrived, I would've rated this place five stars. Today, I can't honestly say the same. It's become more about filling beds than building people up. And while everyone's experience may be different, I think it's fair to say: this is a place where you do your time, but you may not find the growth or dignity you hoped for. This review isn't written out of bitterness. It's written out of truth -- because I believe others deserve to make informed decisions. If you come here, just be aware: this may be a place to sleep, but it might not feel like home.
