It's a good place to get food to cook on a Saturday morning. They are generous and helpful.

This was my first time volunteering at the new location. Great organization for a great cause…read more As always, I arrived 15 minutes early and followed all of the instructions. Appreciate the lockers for my personal belongings at the presentation area. The rest of the steps and assembly lines were just the way I remembered it. I volunteered at a new station this time, which I very much enjoyed. Totally got a bicep workout out of it. Thank you, FMSC, for a meaningful experience and wonderful memories all these years!

First time to volunteer with this organization and it was an amazing experience! The ease of…read moresigning up for shifts was great, everything is done on-line. We arrived about 15 minutes prior to our 9am shift and there were several groups there as well. We were brought into the large room where the market is located (more in a moment on this) and found lockers to lock our things up (you can't wear hoop earrings, rings, necklaces, etc.). They give you small plastic baggies to put your stuff in; you are also required to wear a hair net and men with facial hair was also required to wear a beard net. We watched a couple of videos that explained what we would be packing and where it was shipped to as well as specifics for the actual packing station. It is so rewarding to know that these Mano Packs are shipped to countries where children suffer greatly from malnutrition. At the end they actually give you a sample of what we packed. It was like a savory oatmeal and included rice, protein, a mixture of dehydrated veggies and a scoop of powdered vitamins and nutrients. It was good actually. We were at a packing station with some others including children and once everyone decided on which job we wanted to do, after a few minutes and bags, we found our packing rhythm. They have a very precise method to the packing of these meal bags and with music, cheering, etc...the two hours flew by! If you are looking for a meaningful volunteer opportunity, check them out. We are going back for a second time and I think we'll make this one of our regular volunteer opportunities. Staff working is great and helpful and so passionate about the work they are doing! The marketplace includes crafts made by the people of the different villages around the world. We learned that not only are the families given food packets but they are also signed up for resources and employment opportunities and everything else in an effort to make their lives better. The marketplace is amazing!

The atmosphere is very welcoming and kindness is just spread all around. When I was first introduced to Free Arts, the staff member service was eager to help me through the volunteer requirements. I appreciate their helpful service. This place holds a lot of value and I hope Phoenix gets to know how wonderful this nonprofit organization really does make an impact on kids and adolescence.

Also involved with Generation United, we spent time with underprivileged children during the free arts day at the museum. There were three highly organized activities with the groups split up into about 8-10 kids. The activities were kids yoga, and two where the children created their own art. The organizers did a great job explaining what the volunteer's boundaries should be and how we could maximize our time with the children. My group were 4-year olds and we were each assigned one child. Being that I have an almost 4 year old, it felt natural to play with my buddy but it was so difficult when we had to say good bye. These kids need so much and you just want to do more. Luckily, they have organizations like Free Arts to bring some fun and creativity into their lives.

I was really low on cash flow and was worried if I was going to make ends meat. I even called ATA and backed out of my first meeting because I just didn't want to deal with more hassle. They called me and made me realize that it was in my best interest just to sit down for a free meeting. During that meeting I received a wealth of knowledge regarding my rights as a renter. I would highly recommend to anyone who is feeling backed into a corner to just schedule the first meeting with ATA. After my initial meeting I was confident that Ken and his team had my best interest in mind. I decided to proceed with them. It took 11 days and I was moved out, free and clear of my lease obligations. Ken is a very unique individual, I would tend to agree that his people skills are a bit off. But I didn't hire him for that. I hired him because he was a wealth of knowledge in an area that I knew nothing about. He has his way of doing things and I found him to be very pleasant and respectful of me. No doubt he is an odd guy but I found him to be pretty funny! And again I hired him to help me break my lease legally and here I am free and clear and super happy with the results. Thank you so much Ken and team! P.S I highly recommend you pay the extra 50 bucks to protect your credit! A lot of Landlords will mess with your credit to get back at you and Ken will make sure they don't get away with it.

Once I paid the dues AND RENEWED MY LEASE, the SAME agent that made the assurances told me there was nothing he could do for me! I'm a disabled VET and can't afford a $3,000 retainer fee but, even the $65 fee and increased rent with diminished amenities was insulting, expensive and did not help my mental state at all.
