Better Air Northwest sent out an estimator (Eric) for free. He was really nice, helpful, and figured out how to solve our issue for a reasonable price! We received the estimate per email a couple days later and unlike other companies, no pressure was put on us to approve the job right away - instead we were given as long as we needed to discuss and ponder. As soon as we approved the estimate, we were contacted so we could get on the schedule. Somehow Edgar and Juan asked and also answered all the questions at the very beginning and we were able to do other things while they did these 2 jobs like the true professionals they are. They started by taping everything in the room with the closet, and it kept everything so clean! I called on a Tuesday, and they were able to fit me within two weeks. The office staff clearly explained the pricing structure (which was fixed based on the size of the house, with optional add-ons like dryer vent cleaning) and sent a confirmation text the day before. The technicians, Andreas & Cody, called me 50 minutes before arrival, right arrived pretty close to the promised time. I knew there was construction down the street so I figured they would be delayed due to stopped traffic. The two arrived in a well-marked truck and was immediately professional. They took time to explain the negative pressure vacuum system they use, which involved hooking up a large hose to the main duct trunk near the furnace. They wore boot covers inside the house, which I appreciated. The cleaning itself involved systematically sealing off all registers and then using powerful air whips into each vent to agitate and loosen all the debris. They showed me the incredible amount of dirt, dust, and junk they removed from the main trunk--it was genuinely shocking and visually compelling. When finished with the vents they took on the dryer. The lint cleaned out of the vent and the filter was surprising. I expect the drying cycles will be quicker with a clean system. The entire process took approximately 5 hours. Once finished, they sealed up the access holes they created cleanly. There were only two rooms where they forgot to move furniture back in place. The immediate difference was significant: the air in the house feels fresher and less "stuffy," and the HVAC system runs noticeably quieter. I am confident that the removal of years of dust and allergens will benefit our household, especially during allergy season. Better Air Northwest delivered exactly what they promised: professional service, clear communication, and excellent results.
