Any time I'm in Delano I never think to grab breakfast here, even though it's on my mom's side of town. On the last few visits, we decided to take my mom here and it did not disappoint. The wait time was not long and I really liked that they put us in a different private area since my mom is disabled and has to push her little cart that's a little bulky. The staff were super fast and friendly. At one point we had thought they forgot about us, but when I turned around here she comes from behind to ask if we were doing okay. Amazingly I was impressed with the food, It was served fresh and our food came straight from the kitchen because everything was piping hot just the way we like. The place could use some updated decor. I believe the decorations are the same ones from Fruit Tree and Perko days and that was some time ago. It looks super outdated and you can tell all the decorations, tables and chairs are super old, but the servers do wipe up after someone's finished eating, but the place would look nicer if they updated a little. Restrooms are not too friendly with people who have disabilities as my mom struggled a bit in there, so if you bring your elderly relatives then they will need help in the restroom.

Came for Sunday breakfast because I had business in Delano. Haven't been here since it's name change to Generals so it's been a long time. I had the country fried steak and I loved it! It came with two steaks so I saved one for later. It was so crispy and flavorful. The eggs were just eggs. The country potatoes were a little mushy but it did have some crispy moments to it. And Im so glad that I was able to get pancakes with it too. It comes with a choise of biscuits and gravy, pancakes or toast. So thankfully I got to try the pancakes which were also great as well. My husband got the oreo French toast. The bread was soaked in an egg mixture. You could definitely taste that. It wasn't dry. He finished it all. The only think about their speciality items, which it all looked good....it would cost almost $25 to make it a meal with the eggs and meat. Hence my option of the country fried steak. Otherwise their strawberry cheesecake waffles were looking pretty good on that menu. Only gripe about the place...sticky yucky menus.

I readily admit to being a food snob, as many of you who follow me should know. Frankly, on a road trip down Highway 99 from Sacramento to Bakersfield, and back, there is very little in the way of good food options. Sorry, but just as I see it, and I have tried again and again to no avail. That takes me here, the General, which I hoped as an independent cafe/diner type restaurant might be the Holy Grail. Unfortunately, no. It's just another roadside 'greasy spoon'. It's not particularly clean looking, but I did see servers diligently sanitizing seats, booths, and tables when people left, a very good sign. The place, however, is a bit weather worn and in need of a good sprucing up. The menu is OK, typical of this type of establishment, plastic and pictures, and not too inspired. I ordered the Santa Fe Grill Sandwich with fries, plus an iced tea. The sandwich was just OK, and yes, alas, greasy. It came with a beautifully grilled pepper, which I typically would love to eat a pepper like that, but it too looked greasy. I could only consume half the fries, unusual for me as I typically woof them down, but not here. Service was good, friendly, which was nice. Lots of local families seem to eat here. I did have high hopes. Oh, well. Next trip - power bars!

Family oriented restaurant. Great customer service, everyone was super friendly. The food was very good and came in big portions. -the strawberry lemonade was very good! You must try it.

The waitress was super sweet and really nice. I had the breakfast 6oz steak special and they cooked my steak just how I like it, medium rare. The country potatoes though were not the same. But this caramel banana waffle was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Would recommend.

The moment I stepped inside, I was enveloped in a cozy atmosphere that immediately put me at ease. The staff were warm and welcoming, taking the time to explain the menu and offer their recommendations. My parents were drawn to the Filipino Halo Halo, a classic dessert that showcased a variety of fruits, and creamy milk in a stunning display of color and texture. I give it a 6 oit of 10. It was missing some main ingredients. However, I opted for the Thrifty flavor, featuring chocolate malted crunch ice cream that proved to be a rich and indulgent treat. I give it a 5 out of 10 only because it tased like it was sitting there for a while. One major concern that might deter me from coming back is the fact that the seating area is quite compact. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that there were only two tables, each with a capacity of two people, which seemed a bit restrictive. My initial intention was to grab dessert and engage in conversation, but the limited seating arrangements made it challenging to do so. As a result, we opted to enjoy our desserts in the parking lot, which, thankfully, had pleasant weather. Overall, I think this establishment is better suited for customers who prefer to take their orders to-go, rather than dining in. I would return just because I support small business and believe that every purchase makes a significant difference to the local community.

As you enter you are at the register, but if there is someone ordering you're all up in each others space lol. The service is friendly and quick. They offer a variety of paletas and snacks. The paleta my wife got was fire, a gansito one (a mexican version of a twinkie, filled with jam, cream and covered in chocolate) It was really tasty. Everyone enjoyed their ice creams. The quality of the items was obvious. Everything is made in house. Bomb!

Turns out its about 35 min away from me, um ok worth the drive. After reading the reviews I read they sell out pretty quickly and I realized how right they were. When I arrived there was just a few options left and not knowing what to get I watched a customer come in and make an order, to which I of course responded with I want what she ordered. You cant go wrong when you watch what is everyone's favorite. I got lady fingers, sweet cream rolls and banana filled what I believe to be a lumpia wrapper. 6 lady fingers, 2 rolls and 2 banana yummys for $7. A steal! They only take cash so be prepared for that. The lady fingers are bread with sugar coating(not at all like the Italian lady fingers that are more cookie like). They were still warm ftom being fresh made and 3 for $1 how can you pass this up. Soft, sweet bread and a hot cup.of coffee. I would be in heaven. The sweet cream rolls were soft, and pillows. When I got home I put some of my Amish made Cinnamon Pear Jam that I wrote about in a previous review and it leveled up and it felt illegal eating it. The banana lumpia dessert was good, of the choices it wasnt my favorite but im not the biggest fan of fried food. It was crispy, and the sliced bananas inside was cooked nicely and not mushy. The banana flavor was subtle but there. I would have rather had a stronger banana flavor but to me the fry oil was overpowering. The bakery has been there for ao long, do not expect an over priced fancy bakery with mid products. Youre going to an older bakery(been around since the 80s and the building probably hasnt changed much) where they know how to bake the tried and true Filipino desserts and breads without gimmicks or trends, and because they keep interior/exterior basic they can keep the prices down. This is the kind of bakery you come to for quality old school products and service, everyone is helpful and kind and they deliver the most delicious breads and desserts. I will be back soon to try their Pan de Coco!!

We stopped by today to pick up some desserts for our 4th of July celebration. We were very impressed with the selection available, ranging from hot pastries to cool sweets. The bakery is super clean and well designed. The desserts are definitely not the kind you would find at other local spots, and it's great to have such a variety available locally. We picked up a carrot cake, a chocolate soufflé cake with wild berry and cream filling, and a pistachio cake with berry and cream filling. They were each packaged in a single serving size, cute container. The cakes were fresh, moist, and the cream topping was perfect! Not too sweet, but just right. We also bought some delicious lemon cupcakes, and a couple of croissant type of pastries that had a cream cheese filling and guava filling. They were fresh, hot, and a treat of flaky goodness. We also got a chocolate cookie that was inspired by one the owners sampled in New York. It's topped with delicious crumbled pistachios and was very good. I'm looking forward to taking my granddaughter here so we can sample more of their treats. I know she's going to love it. I can't say enough about this place. The owner was very helpful and courteous. Everything we bought was fresh and delicious. The bakery is super clean and the aroma of the freshly baked goods is amazing. Spent $40+ on some garbage. Sorry to say but this was truly garbage. Fried mushrooms come with a baby amount for 5.99. Zucchini is $1.20 each im guessing since I only got 5 pieces that are small. Burrito is literally a hard burnt overly cooked tortilla. And the best thing here is the jalapeño poppers because its most likely store bought.
