General RV has by far the worst service department I've ever come across. We unfortunately bought a new motor home from them two years ago. Our leveling jacks stopped working in July for the second time and we have been waiting for a part since August. Phone calls are never returned. General RV Worst customer service ever! I bought my new motor home on May 20th They had to pick it up due to several issues on June 16th. Since then I have been unable to speak to the operations manager even after several emails and call. My service advisor has refused to send me repair updates and now refuses to even send what they repair. They have had my brand new RV that I have since made three payments on and pay insurance on for 90 days and I only had it for 20! One star is being generous. We traded our 2016 Jayco Precept for a 2019 Fleetwood Southwind recently. The sales portion of the experience was awesome. Our sales person knew all the features of this coach in great detail. We agreed on a price and sat through the financing process which was also presented in great detail. A fixed inspection price of $2600 was included for a "detailed coach inspection". The delivery agent was also extremely knowledgeable about this coach and was able to answer all our questions. After the inspection they took the coach to fill the propane tank while we waited in the lobby, and waited, and waited. 3 hours later we were informed the furnace was not working, needing a control board. I agreed to take the coach as-is with General agreeing to furnish a new control board that I would replace. Finally back in our campground we find the the 50 amp power cord plug was miswired and spent the first night without power. General agreed to reimburse me for the plug repair. Over the next few days we found that the ice maker did not work along with a broken front stabilizer link on the passenger side of the coach. It has been 3 weeks since that fateful day and General RV does not answer our voicemails or return our emails. At this point in time they owe us nearly $500 and still refuse to communicate. I would suggest that anyone looking to purchase an RV pass on General RV as they have zero integrity or honor. read more

Details I dropped off my Class B on December 30, 2022 in the Ocala, Florida General RV Center due to the 12V system not working, as it seemed as if the house batteries were not holding charge. I informed Kevin (Service Rep) of the issue and was able to drop off the RV that day. When I arrived at General RV, I checked to see if there was power to the 12V system, and it resulted to no power. We bought a previously owned Tiffin Phaeton from General RV In January of 2022 at a fair price. We knew the unit had great potential since the diesel engine only had 30k miles on it. Once we got into the coach and took it out for a weekend we found many things that had been neglected and needed repairing. The service department at General RV of Ocala were wonderful in their attention to my very long lists. We even had to replace the refrigerator which was no small task for the service technicians. My hat goes off to Service Advisor Kevin Murray for the diligence and attention to detail he provided. He was easy to communicate with via email and didn't even flinch when I came back with additional items to repair. The job was done in a timely manner as promised and even for less than we'd been prepared to pay. Nice job! read more

Was going to retrack my statement I wrote 12/2/2022, I glad I did not. Nothing with this organization has changed! well, yes it has, it's gotten worse. When in the purchase phase, Kevin promised quick service and very little down time if we bring it to them for repair. UPDATE--- The week of 14 July called to schedule a redo of warranty work that had been completed in Dec/Jan. It, AGAIN, took 3 weeks to get the unusable RV into the shop that I purchased from this General RV Center with the promise of quick turn around repair. I turned it in on Friday Aug 4th. I know nothing was going to happen from Friday thru Sunday. 2 weeks later I called to attempt to get an update, because they never contacted me. Called several times over a 3 day period, never received a call back. Went to the shop, waited an Hour to see the service manager, Garry. He explained to me and showed pics of my repair items the current status. "Waiting on JAYCO to tell them how to redo the repair they screwed up last time." He put a requirment for my service consultant (WANDA) to update me every 4 days. Well, I do get updates. However, The update is "We actually have it in the bay and we are working on it" WTF 2 more weeks going into the 3rd with "Wanda" and still no update. Can you imagine, drop your car of at the shop and 5 weeks later you still don't have it. You call and they say, "look, I have 40 customers, I am really busy and can't drop what I am doing to help only you, Like I said, we are working on it. Your Rig is actually in the shop". ACTUAL WORDS FROM WANDA. Do not purchase from General RV in OCALA Fl. If you are on the road, call someone else for needed repairs. I feel that, since i am questioning their ability to perform and manage maintenance, I have been purposely pushed to the back of the line. UPDATE Went to Gen RV to check on ride, Again was told and shown it was in shop being worked on. (in shop is right outside the bay). Was told I will get a real update after the mechs upload their data at the end of today. In the meantime, JAYCO got the real update for me "Gary from General RV and he states when you brought the unit in on Aug. 4, 2023, he told you the unit wouldn't be touched for several weeks. He states the diagnoses should be completed today and then they will submit for warranty repairs". read more

Bought a brand new Key Stone Raptor from here. Within less than a month of ownership generator would not even start, shower was leaking, one of three AC units would not cool and the other broke down and would not turn on. At about 1 month the ceiling in the master started to leak... and the list goes on. For a brand new rig just goes to show the quality control of this place. Worst part is took it in to fix and it's been over 3 months and for about 1 month I've been trying to get ahold of someone for updates and no response. We bought a camper from Trampas, our sales agent, about a month ago from General RV in Ocala. We couldn't be happier with the experience. Now, before I begin, let me tell you that our experience was not perfect. But our experience was very enjoyable and General RV went above and beyond, even if something went wrong. First, from Trampas, to Micah, Tyler, and Alisa, the friendliness was always on show. They all in their own ways took extra time to help us since we were first time camper owners. Micah, spent time helping my wife get all of the parts from the store we would need. However, when we got checked out, the discounts were not added. This was a situation with their computer, however, when discovered they made it right quickly and they were already discussing ways to make sure it wouldn't happen for future customers among themselves. I just got a check back in the mail last week for $14.50 that was overcharged on the title. I would have never known, yet here I have a check sitting here in my hands and a number 1 value meal from Chick-Fil-A in my future. Upon delivery, two fasteners flew off the camper. Instead of still delivering it, the driver turned around and took it back to be repaired instead of bringing it to me with the defect. When we did our walk through we saw a light acting up and they fixed it right on the spot and replaced it. Trampas, was extremely patient and thorough. We brought our 7 kids with us to check out all the campers since they would be living in it as well. Including our 10 year old who is Autistic. Camper after camper we searched trying to find the right one and Trampas was very knowledgable and very understanding to the chaos that can surround a large family especially one with special needs. In the end we decided to go with a camper that we already looked at recently at Camping World. We had no intentions of buying today but they made us an offer that was too good to pass up and crushed what the competitors were offering to the point that we decided to buy right then and there even though we lived an hour and a half away. Again, was the entire process completely flawless? No, but could I tell that they cared deeply for their customers and worked hard to make sure our experience was great? Absolutely. For that reason I give them 5 stars. We don't ever expect perfection, but we do expect friendly service, a passion for a product, and a commitment to the customer. General RV of Ocala had every one of those features. Thanks General RV and we are loving our camper! read more

Our experience was TERRIBLE, the sales team was awful, the business mgr. continuously failed to help us, and ultimately our deal did not go through. We ended up at General RV due to a guy on YouTube (Matts RV Reviews) doing some really great RV overviews! On his channel he mentioned that there was a RV show in Ocala FL, and after watching numerous reviews we decided on a Model of RV and bough our one-way tickets to Orlando and then to Ocala. Sales Team is a joke...I called, I used FB Messenger, I emailed and no one EVER returned my messages, finally by using Matts website email form a person at General RV returned my email, we exchanged a few and then I went to call him and his phone was not working, wth??? So then I called the store directly and was transferred to another salesman, who at least seemed interested in selling us a RV, well when we arrived at Ocala and called him for directions to the show, he gave us directions 30 miles off in a different direction, again wth??? so hearing about the show on the radio we were able to figure out where the show was and was pleasantly surprised to meet Matt from the YouTube channel, so that was fun and all, then he introduced us to yet another salesman, who showed us around, eventually we picked out a RV and then was handed off to the Business Mgr for the sale...now we encountered more problems...All he could do was fill out the paperwork...??? he didnt have any answers about the RV, he didnt have any answers about financing, he didnt have any answers about really anything, the copier didnt even have any toner in it and we had to take a picture of the purchase order with our phone. (the irony for me here was that the same organization that couldnt stock a copier with toner, had no problems getting Chick Filet for the team in the tent, but not toner...) After we took the picture of the purchase order we were pretty much on our way, but now for some really irritating moments: We bought the RV on a Thursday but was told we could not pick it up until the following Wednesday, after we left on Thursday, we were unable to reach anyone for 4 days as to the status of our loan and the RV we thought were were buying, NO ONE would return our Phone calls or our texts, not at the show not at the store not via any method of communication, talk about frustrating...now as for actually paying for the RV, We had CASH $65k to buy a RV that sold for $71k, add in Dealer Prep fees (approx. 4k) and Dealer Transport fees (approx 4k) plus tax (which the business mgr could only estimate for some reason) our out the door price was close to $80k so we were curious if we could finance the rest of the deal, this was on a Thursday, the Business Mgr could not give us an answer and indeed did not even call us back until the following Monday only to inform us that they were unable to find financing for the balance?? We weren't given any options, they didn't want to renegotiate the pricing, nothing except saying that they could not move forward with the purchase and that we would be getting our deposit back in 2 or 3 days...BTW I'm writing this on a Thursday and its been 3 days since they cancelled the deal and I still don't have my deposit back. what a horrible experience it all was. On a good note, IMO after doing months of research and looking at the pricing at the show we found General to have some of the best pricing on RV's that they sell, not that we could buy any of them lol. I received a very disagreeable phone call from Daniel in Michigan, refusing to give me a quote and telling me the only way to purchase was to sit down with one of their salesman and write up and order, choosing the specific options, etc. that I wanted. He said he had never heart of just walking up and buying an RV as it sits, something that had happened many times at this show. After yelling over the top of each other for awhile, I hung up. I just bought a new Springdale camper from here. If I only had to deal with service it would be a 5 all day. The salesman that sold it to me lied of course. He said I would get 2 batteries and a solar panel because I wasn't thrilled that the fridge only ran on battery. When I did my walk through I mentioned the 2nd battery and solar was not in it. The service man said he would write it down and let sales and finance look into it. The next day I picked the camper up and finished the paperwork. What a nightmare! We met with the salesman Mike Sciotti to buy a 2022 Dutchmen (Keystone) Yukon 421FL. Great salesperson, nice, knowledgeable, bent over backwards for us. Five stars for Mike, Zero stars for General! He spent 3 full days with us while we were trying to decide, looking at it, going over everything. We were going back and forth between a Grand Design Solitude and this one, but finally decided that this was the one for us. Things went downhill fast when after the finance guy (Wayne) had all of the numbers worked out for us and we had to finalize the deal with the idiot "Freddie", the supposed "sales manager". All we wanted was an extended warranty thrown into the deal since we were paying pretty much sticker price as advertised on the internet. Nothing else. No discounts AT ALL. Another dealer in Winter Park had the same model that INCLUDED a Lifetime Warranty and was $500 cheaper. This "Freddie" guy actually yelled at us and told us that we "Already bought this one because we signed the purchase order", and said "What do you want from me? I'm not giving you anything for free, these are the numbers you agreed to, this is the deal, there's nothing else to discuss". He was VERY intimidating and confrontational, so much so that hubby had to leave the room and stand in the hallway because he was afraid he would punch this guy. My husband has been in sales most of his life, owns his own business, and would NEVER treat a potential customer like this. We were TOLD to give the 1k deposit, credit info, sign on the dotted line to SEE what they could come up with money-wise. Not a sale, just an inquiry. Wrong. He told us that we were supposed to be taking "delivery " today. WTF?? He told us that an extended warranty was "mandated by Florida State Law" to cost an extra $6,500 for 5 more years. No thanks. Lairs. Never again. We were warned by others in the campground and locals to STAY AWAY from General. Now we know better. RUN, DONT WALK, away from these thieves. read more

We have a Grand Design travel trailer that we are living in full time.  We had warranty work that needed done, plus we wanted roof inspection & to add slide out covers.  We have worked with General RV in Flat Rock, MI as they were the closest service provider and had a great experience.  As we were in Ocala, FL, we decided to go to the Ocala General RV.  This was a mistake and I would recommend against using this facility if you can.  They tout "camping life" and getting your rig back to you as soon as possible.  However, if you are not willing to nag them and demand service, you will be forgotten, and your travel life disrupted.   Quick synopsis - made an appt. planned on three days, they forgot about trailer for 2 days, then could not get warranty work approved due to be being late Friday afternoon.  No communication from service rep and when we went back on site received a sob story of "we are sooo busy, we can't keep up with the work."  Three days turned into 7 and they said it was done.  Arrived picked it up on Thursday night to leave for Asheville, NC next morning.  Found that it was not fixed and had to go back in for repairs the next morning.  We were four hours late getting on the road. Besides the aggravation and uncertainty due to lack of communication, we were out 3 days hotel costs, had to crash with cousin for 4 nights, lost one night of camping fee, and found out today that not everything is truly fixed. We had a leak and its still leaking.  I did talk to the service manager (Kevin) and got the same story of how they are understaffed, too busy, not expecting the amount of busy, etc.  He said he was to take care of everything, which not sure if timing or if he expedited, but trailer was ready within the next hour. Kevin said he going to do a walk through with me to ensure all was fixed to my satisfaction.  He went to get his coat as it was cold out.  I never saw him again.  I did my inspection, hooked up, waited, and he never showed. Finally, after about 15 minutes, I had to get on road, so talked to service rep. and left. Morale of this is they are so busy they don't need to worry about a single customer, so don't bother going to them. read more

I just bought a travel trailer brand new 2022 unit last Monday, took it camping on Wednesday, saw a terrible leak in my awning and in my bathroom. Took my trailer where I live in the Orange Park store and they are giving me a hard time about repairing this under the warranty. These Dealerships charge a $2500 prep fee for the trailer before they sell it to me to do what exactly? Move it around in the lot, drag it to the walk through location and send me on my way with a leaky awning and bathroom? But apparently they did inspect my unit and "I signed for it as is" Now they want me to come pick up my trailer and wait to hear if the warranty will fix this or not. This shows me they did not inspect my trailer and sold me a $60,000 piece of broken junk. Just For the record Freddie the sales manager needs to find an occupation not involving customer service. If he continues to talk to people the way he did to me, im sure someone will leave him a permanent crooked smile. Chris York my sales man was awesome, he's a good guy along with Wayne in finance, He seems nice. I Pre did my paper work with wayne. Then I showed up the day of purchase after completing my walk through for the trailer And waited for the other finance guy Darrin to walk by and talk to us. He just walks by, petted my dogs and went out the front door. We Waited 40 mins and saw him walk back in with Popeyes. After complaining and telling them I was going to leave and forget the new trailer I would take my old one back home, the finance guy darrin finally came to get us. Turns out, he told us not to sign a few papers because his partner was "over documenting ", but yet now they haven't paid off my old trailer I traded in because they still haven't submitted my paperwork. Absolute clown show. Proceeded to wait another 2 hours for them to "transfer my hitch sway system from old unit to new one" Save yourself the hassle and buy from somewhere else. The service departments are awful to work with and tell me "we are not a storage facility". well great, fix my brand new leaky trailer and I'll be happy to come get it. 904-718-6414 for any questions. We bought our RV here one year and one month ago. Apparently there business model is get it sold and forget the rest. Since taking delivery of this new unit in January 2021 it has been back four times. Today we were there to pick it up only to find out the unit was still in the body shop. We were called earlier in the week to pick it up today no less. Now our service consultant was also unaware it was in the body shop. The reason was they ran a screw from the inside to the outside and didn't let anyone know. Buyer beware from here. This iin general is a problem with the whole industry. I would rate them 0 if I could. I purchased 1 $300,000.00 RV from them and have nothing but trouble getting help. First they talked me into a coating that is supposed to keep it looking new for years, over a thousand dollars. You can just hose love bugs off, they said. No black streaks, no chalk lines, we will send someone out to wash it if it doesn't hose right off. We will wash it once a year they said. I called and asked for help with dirt and love bugs and their response was no we don't come out to wash it. I asked for my money back and the response I got was once it's applied you can't get a refund. It's a coating like cerra coat $20.00 bucks at walmart. My induction cooktop and oven quit working. Both sinks have fallen into the cabinets. Outside stereo has no power, macerator doesn't work, bathroom window leaks, entrance door lock tumbler stuck. Had to drill it to get in. I called them every day for weeks, nobody returns my calls. I have been six months with no cooktop or oven. These people are the worst customer service people I have ever encountered. An assistant mgr. finally returned one of my calls. I explained some of the problems and described that I had called every day for help. He said. we assigned it to Kevin months ago. We are currently shopping for a pull behind camper. We are trying to explore all the options available. We are not sure exactly what will work best for us. We where definitely made to feel to insignificant to mess with. Both my husband and myself got the impression we were wasting Matt Williams time and to picky in what we were wanting. So it ended up being a waste of our time. I really hate that I had to give one star to give my review. It was a big disappointment. In my opinion it is a better use of your time to deal with smaller family owned dealerships. We had wonderful experiences at Campers inn in belle view with Chelsey and at Tri-am RVer's center on NE Jacksonville Rd. With Steve but stay away from here. read more

Tried to shop for a specific RV and came across this company, connected them to see if they can get me better offer than the one o received from different dealership. They requested to see the current offer ( totally expected) but than to provide any consideration of the price they started pressing to provide them with credit card information to show seriousness. Never in my life I was asked for Form of payment before even making an offer... just seem as a scam to me. Be careful! read more

I am a nationally certified Level II independent RV inspector hired by an out of town client to inspect a motorhome that he hadn't seen. My client's depend on me to be their eyes, ears and nose when inspecting RVs that they are interested in purchasing. We purchased a pre-owned camper. They were supposed to repair broken items and replace the battery. When we picked it up a week later, most repairs were not done and the battery was not replaced. We had to wait a long time for work to be done. In addiiton, no one told us we needed a certified check. After we drove an hour to get there, then we were told to go to the bank and get one. Our bank was not nearby so we had to come back. We do not live close. After we got home with the camper we got a call several days later saying they forgot to charge our card the correct amount for the down payment. Very disorganized and unprofessional. read more

To say I had a bad experience is an under statement. I would not recommend General RV to anyone. Phone calls were not returned, Storage keys to unit were lost, walkthrough found minor damage not corrected, inside unit was not cleaned nor washed. First outing reveled tire pressure totally incorrect and low and the in house battery was defective and had to be replaced and my list could go on. For a company the size of General one would think they have their S**t together but I found out the hard way they don't. read more

I had my Class A diesel pusher in for some body work after backing into a tree. Kevin in service was great to work with. He took care of all of our needs and got everything done in about 3 weeks. I hope everyone else can get the same service as well. I have had issues at other places. read more

We bought our RV new from General RV in Ocala 3 months before we rubbed a oak tree with it. We took our damaged RV to General RV Ocala in June 22 they told us several months later it was totaled. It is now January 3 and they still have not finished with the General RV insurance company so we can get our money from them. After this experience I think only a fool would do any business with them. Kevin Murray never returns calls or e-mails. I would never trust them again. I am 73 and my wife is 80, we don't have much RV time left and General RV is waiting it. read more

experience was TERRIBLE, the sales team was awful, the business mgr. continuously failed to help us, and ultimately our deal did not go through. We ended up at General RV due to a guy on YouTube (Matts RV Reviews) doing some really great RV overviews! On his channel he mentioned that there was a RV show in Ocala FL, and after watching numerous reviews we decided on a Model of RV and bough our one-way tickets to Orlando and then to Ocala. Sales Team is a joke...I called, I used FB Messenger, I emailed and no one EVER returned my messages, finally by using Matts website email form a person at General RV returned my email, we exchanged a few and then I went to call him and his phone was not working, wth??? So then I called the store directly and was transferred to another salesman, who at least seemed interested in selling us a RV, well when we arrived at Ocala and called him for directions to the show, he gave us directions 30 miles off in a different direction, again wth??? so hearing about the show on the radio we were able to figure out where the show was and was pleasantly surprised to meet Matt from the YouTube channel, so that was fun and all, then he introduced us to yet another salesman, who showed us around, eventually we picked out a RV and then was handed off to the Business Mgr for the sale...now we encountered more problems...All he could do was fill out the paperwork...??? he didnt have any answers about the RV, he didnt have any answers about financing, he didnt have any answers about really anything, the copier didnt even have any toner in it and we had to take a picture of the purchase order with our phone. (the irony for me here was that the same organization that couldnt stock a copier with toner, had no problems getting Chick Filet for the team in the tent, but not toner...) After we took the picture of the purchase order we were pretty much on our way, but now for some really irritating moments: We bought the RV on a Thursday but was told we could not pick it up until the following Wednesday, after we left on Thursday, we were unable to reach anyone for 4 days as to the status of our loan and the RV we thought were were buying, NO ONE would return our Phone calls or our texts, not at the show not at the store not via any method of communication, talk about frustrating...now as for actually paying for the RV, We had CASH $65k to buy a RV that sold for $71k, add in Dealer Prep fees (approx. 4k) and Dealer Transport fees (approx 4k) plus tax (which the business mgr could only estimate for some reason) our out the door price was close to $80k so we were curious if we could finance the rest of the deal, this was on a Thursday, the Business Mgr could not give us an answer and indeed did not even call us back until the following Monday only to inform us that they were unable to find financing for the balance?? We weren't given any options, they didn't want to renegotiate the pricing, nothing except saying that they could not move forward with the purchase and that we would be getting our deposit back in 2 or 3 days...BTW I'm writing this on a Thursday and its been 3 days since they cancelled the deal and I still don't have my deposit back. what a horrible experience it all was. On a good note, IMO after doing months of research and looking at the pricing at the show we found General to have some of the best pricing on RV's that they sell, not that we could buy any of them lol. For us it didn't work out, but it appears that General RV has some really good employees there that are capable. Find those people! but for us its not so good... read more
