literally the worst ER I've ever been to which says alot, because ERs suck ! We waiting for 4 hours…read morewith no help, no answers, and very rude staff, who could care less about you. Which, why are you in health care with no empathy ? We were pressured into signing refusal of care ( after asking how much longer) which I regret doing but was just so out of it at that point. Don't come here if you want help. if I could give -stars I would

Went to the Aultman/Canton ER for concerns of sepsis, a deadly infection. Waited for 4 hours…read morewithout being helped and left with two other families, one of which concerned their loved one was having a heart attack and had been there for 9 hours without attention. Throughout our experience, the Aultman/Canton ER was seemingly run as a mental health crisis center. One woman was screaming about Domestic Violence, cursing at staff and demanding to go to the police, with many security employees surrounding her to attend to her situation. This went on unresolved for 2 hours. Another Patient was begging for attention and mercy, wailing in a geriatric chair from the moment we arrived until we walked out. A third Patient appeared to be without need for emergency services, dancing jumping and singing with obvious motor/sensory impairments-perhaps substance induced (again-security telling him "we can't leave you alone because of the other incident"). He was provided drinks and snacks to remain compliant and cooperative, vitals checked in the common area as the attendant went from one Patient to another without disinfecting any devices. We were told they don't have any rooms open. NO, Aultman-you don't have STAFF TO TRIAGE. YOU HAVE NO PROTOCOLS. Chances are, you also don't PAY well, so you can't GET any staff, and if you want a crisis center, open an effective triage unit for mental health/non-medical crisis. In the meantime, whoever is looking at marketing strategy or business/accounts receivable needs to realize they are losing money (commercially insured Patients) walking out the door and may benefit from hiring the staff to bill out 5 times their salary.

I hate it. every time I come I live a nightmare…read more A few years ago selena riordan was my doctor. I was a jackass for ever coming back to see her. My entire time she was my doctor she never did anything to help me. She was bad. I would have a appointment at 10 I would get there early and I wouldn't even leave the waiting area until a hour. I waited in a small room a hour. Before I even see my doctor I waited 2 if not more hours. Chrales smith is not good. because I don't know where else to go I put up with it. I hate this place I hate the doctors

I have been a patient at this hospital several times. A few doctors and nurses have been excellent…read morecaregivers but most are very crude, uncaring and seem like they are there only for a paycheck or to feel as if they have control over people who are at their most vulnerable. At one hospitalization a tube had to be inserted down my esophagus for a procedure, but instead of medicating me first, the nurse and an Aide, tried to put it down my throat without it! Are they trained to do that in order to save money for the Hospital? Absolutely barbaric! If they were the patient, they wouldn't want a tube stuffed down their throat without medication! Incompetent, uncaring, and so hurtful! They should have asked me if I wanted medication, but they did not! I already signed papers allowing them to medicate me as needed and that the only medication I couldn't have was the antibiotic called amoxicillin! I would love to get another insurance, but my husband's work uses this so I have no choice. We tried to find another insurance besides, Aultcare and couldn't find anything less. My husband said he couldn't find anything less and it went up as well! I hope that when I get medicare, I can switch hospitals to Mercy or even be able to go to Union Hospital or Trinity in Denison if I chose to for certain procedures. I would love to go elsewhere now. It was a great hospital for having children there and the Neonatal department is awesome! Psychiatric was not good and it is good that they don't have it anymore! We do, however, need a really good Psychiatric Hospital in the Stark County area. Heartland is heartless in most aspects of their care! The best Physician is Our Lord, of course, but we need people who at least try to be like Jesus by using all of his kind mannerisms when trying to heal while at the same time using all the good knowledge they obtained from their training in medical school. My mother was a Private Duty nurse and the most important care a healthcare giver can give is bedside manners or compassion! Without it, the healing process is less effective and sometimes in some cases, like no healing at all! In Psychiatric, bedside manners or compassion is 90% of the healing process! Most Psychiatric patients need compassion more than anything else. Psychiatric illnesses are no different than other illnesses but they are still treated like a Stigma when a person exhibits behavior stemming from a chemical imbalance, which is the cause of Psychiatric illnesses. A patient who has a Psychiatric illness isn't taken seriously when they have a medical problem other than Psychiatric. I believe that is why they tried to shove the tube down my throat! I think they thought I was faking it so they were trying to scare me away by trying to shove a tube down my throat. After the Doctor had an x-ray done to find out it was tissue wrapped around my small intestines, I received the proper care I needed. Medication was given to me so I would be out when they put the tube down my throat, that way, it didn't gag me or cause any severe discomfort! Why did it take that long to see I wasn't lying! I had thrown up so much but they still didn't think I was telling the truth about what was wrong with me and even if they did, they acted like I was some type of person they could abuse or use! Horrible treatment and I still have dreams of it from time to time! So glad it's over! Dr. Stephen Kelly made up for all of that in so many respects as he genuinely cared about me! One Aide and one nurse also made up for the first crude nurse who didn't care about medicating me and who tried to shove the tube down my esophagus! I should never have had this experience at all! I wrote about it in a review after my hospitalization, but nothing was ever said about it and definitely no apology was ever extended! God will have the last word.
