I have a 1974 Ford Gran Torino. Yes, that's right, the Starsky and Hutch car. This car was bought a year ago and the engine wasn't the original one; it had a 429 Cobrajet engine and a C6 transmission. My transmission was shifting hard and I needed to get this worked on. The car was always unreliable, but she made up for it with beauty. Most shops wouldn't even want to touch this type of car, but they did. Chris and his team fixed the transmission beautifully, but because my engine isn't stock and the cam in it is also not stock, this led to other issues. These guys were patient as can be and worked through a plethora of issues. At every turn, the car had something else and they were very transparent about it (lest you think I am just a sucker who knows nothing about cars). Their pricing was more than fair, I stress this, considering the amount of issues they uncovered. Nice guys and Leroy, the mechanic for the old car, really knows his stuff. Charged more than quoted, didn't reconnect cooler, won't call back about warranty repairs.

About a month ago I brought my old taco In because it wasn't engaging when I'd go from reverse to drive. Originally I figured I'd need a new transmission. They were well within their rights to rebuild the whole tranny and charge me accordingly but instead they diagnosed the issue, cleaned out my valve body and changed some solenoids. Cost me a third of the price and I really appreciate their honest approach. read more

I took my fragile car here and they charged me $150 to change out a battery that I purchased and dropped off to them. The manager acts as if he is doing you a favor. In all actuality he charged me for a 2 minute test on my battery. It is the little details that keep you in honest and true regard. He lacks in both. The man that put in the battery that I purchased from Auto Zone had more integrity in His pinky than the manager has in his entire arsenal. The company acts as if they are DESPERATE for money. I would not recommend them to the flea on my dogs ass. It is unfortunate that when I recounted this experience to many San Antonio patrons that they were fully aware of the shady and unethical practices of this establishment. Be wary and steer clear of this establishment if at ALL POSSIBLE, the manager is a thief...of the worst kind...smiles to your face and sticks it in Your bum in the interim!! OMG!!!! Chris,Larry and the crew were the best ever. In today's world, honesty is hard to find ,but not here!!!. I have a 2004 GMC 1500 sierra SLE 4.8 V8 with 189k miles, had a performance issue (Transmission). Called, got in, and diagnostic within the hour. Chris and Larry walked me through the whole process, being mechanically inclined, there was no betting around the bush. It was multiple codes and was explained correctly. Chris was straight up with options and pricing, left the truck in his hands. Chris went out of his way to drive me to Hertz to get a rental,WOW!!. Chris called me every day with total review after transmission brake down, It was trashed(torque converter, planetary gear, 2nd and 4th gear and reverse bushings).
