Gemma was so lovely to work with! We had photos done the morning of my daughter's 5th bday. She had great location recommendations and had a lot of great poses to engage our little one. Thank you Gemma! read more

I can't say enough about how incredible our experience was with Gemma - 5 stars simply does not cut it! Gemma was easy to book and great at communicating leading up to our photoshoot. Gemma's website has all the information you need to make an informed decision about your location, duration of shoot and budget, and she will also help personally guide you through your choices. Our family met Gemma at Ironwoods Beach for a sunset photoshoot with our very fun and very willful 18-month old. Gemma is incredibly warm, genuine and friendly and she will immediately put your whole family at ease and capture everyone at their best. She worked with us to ensure we got great shots with plenty of backdrops - we really wanted candids of us all playing together and wow, did she deliver! We even caught a couple of authentic Maui rainbows and she was able to capture those perfectly. If you are worried about the chaos of a beach photoshoot with a toddler, don't be! It was absolutely the best kind of chaos and by the end we all ended up covered in water and sand. And those are 100% my favorite photos. Gemma's final product is so much better than I could have ever hoped for - they're filled with laughter, love, and a sense of joy that perfectly captures our little family. We will cherish these memories and these photos for years to come. I cannot recommend Gemma enough! read more

I wish I could give Gemma more than 5 stars, She did such an amazing job and we couldn't be more impressed with the whole process. Gemma has such a great eye and she was amazing at capturing our relationship. Gemma was all about the flow, she provided some great guidance on how to pose, but also let our personalities show in the pictures. We were only in Hawaii for a week and it was raining the day we were suppose to take the photo shoot. Gemma took a couple of shots but she suggest we move the date to tomorrow to get the best shots. It was so nice to know that she worked around the elements to give us the best egagment photos. She let us know that she would turn around the pictures in 7 days.. and she delivered on that promise. Gemma Thanks again for capturing our engagement photo's and I can't wait to book you again when we take our first family trip to maui! Best, Baehan & Skylar read more

Gemma is incredible! From our first email encounter I could feel her genuine excitement and love for what she does. I simply mentioned a little of what I had in mind for our maternity/paternity photo session and entrusted her with the rest. Gemma provided advice for the location and constantly provided great ideas during the session for posing and feeling most comfortable. We are not at all normally comfortable with photo sessions but she made it so fun and easy and we could not be happier with the results! read more

From consultation, to the time in between, to the actual photo session, Gemma Rose was absolutely amazing to work with. We initially inquired on her website and coordinated through email first. Once everything was good, we spoke and asked our questions on instagram and she would reply quickly with suggestions that we were looking for. We only felt good energy emanate from her, which goes into the actual photo session. She had been following a bit of our journey already and knew a bit about us so it didn't feel like we needed to break any ice with her at all. She made us feel super comfortable during our session and we had an amazing time. It was so fun and we would totally do it again in the future if we ever visit Maui with our future kids! Words cannot describe how happy we are with the maternity photos from Gemma! My family visited Maui for our 25th anniversary. It was so beautiful. One of the highlights of the entire trip was our photo shoot with Gemma Rose. We had a chaotic family with energetic kids and wondered how long it would be before the whole situation broke down. Gemma was so patient with us all. She even started taking photos as we walked from the parking lot to the beach. There are some lovely paths along the way, and the kids were running toward the water. She captured this joy and spontaneous enthusiasm beautifully. The whole experience was great. Gemma was patient and friendly. She set up some fantastic shots and managed to stay aware of all of the random action around her. In the middle of a shot of my wife and me, she would turn and catch the kids splashing in the surf, then get right back to the original shot, unphased. It was professional and personal at the same time. The resulting album that we received is such a wonderful part of our memories from that trip. I hope that she is still available for our 30th! read more

We only had two days left of our vacation when we decided to try to do an engagement photoshoot here in beautiful Maui! Gemma is so incredibly talented! She has photographed our wedding and maternity. She absolutely knows how to create amazing, memorable moments. Gemma suggested a beach in Kapalua, just before sunset, as a site for family photos. Our group was a 4 and 6 year old, their mom and dad, and me, the grandmother. Gemma quickly realized that the kids were too wound up to sit for more formal shots, so she captured us all on the fly, walking on the beach, blowing bubbles, twirling around, climbing on the rocks, along with a few more formal photos. Everyone's personality and the fun we have shine through. Gemma used varied backdrops: cliffs, beach, ocean, greenery, sunset, and captured the the natural light varied light as the sun set. We are thrilled with Gemma's artistic ability and the way she captured our family in this moment in time. Her rates are very reasonable. I am so grateful to have the photos as a memento of my stay on Maui with my children and grandchildren. Thank you, Gemma! read more

Holy moly, how can I give Gemma a 100 star review!? 5 starts just doesn't cut it! My boyfriend and I were staying at Honokeana Cove for our babymoon and were fortunate enough to meet Gemma and her husband Ray. When she told us she was a photographer we were so excited to book an impromptu maternity photo shoot the last day we were in Maui. GEMMA KILLED IT!!!! We were both super nervous for professional photos but Gemma made us feel so confident and comfortable it was SO easy! She knew all the best places and had such great ideas for poses. It was so nice to have her guidance during our session she's truly an artist. I love how candid all of our photos are and we LOVED the idea she had of holding a sign with our sons name on it WHICH she already had made up for us before the shoot. It was so awesome. ONE HUNDRED PERCENT would recommend her to anyone looking for an insanely talented, professional photographer while in Maui. We can't wait to come back and have her take photos of our family when our son is born. Thank you so much Gemma! read more
