Little did I know what a true gift it was for our family. Lisa met our group of 8 at the designated park right on time. She really has a great way of working with both adults and kids and has an eye for focusing on the person but encompassing the beautiful background. We never felt rushed and were able to request specific groups for pictures. We all left feeling really positive and excited. The hardest part was waiting for the results and hoping they would turn out as great as we had hope. The results are in! They are ALL amazing! We may not be the most photogenetic family out there, but all our pictures made us look fantastic. Lisa took the most beautiful pictures we have ever had. I am so thankful and appreciative that we did this photo shoot. I can't recommend Capture Aloha Photography enough. I ended up buying all the pictures because I don't know when we will all be together again and they were truly outstanding. And the price is very reasonable. I have no complaints. I just wish I had known about them sooner.

The Best Family Photo Experience on Maui -- with the Amazing Lisa Bernasek!…read more Family photo sessions usually fall somewhere between "mildly painful" and "please, make it stop." But our time with Lisa Bernasek completely flipped that script. From the moment we met her on the beach, she put us at ease -- no stiff poses, no forced smiles, just genuine laughter, ocean breezes, and that Maui magic. Lisa somehow managed to capture our family exactly as we are -- joyful, goofy, and (thanks to her direction) surprisingly photogenic! Even my husband, who typically treats photo sessions like a root canal, admitted he actually had fun. That's saying something. The photos turned out beyond stunning -- vibrant, natural, and full of the aloha spirit. Every shot feels like a little time capsule from our trip, filled with the warmth and beauty of Maui. If you want photos that truly capture the feeling of your time on the island -- not just what you looked like -- do yourself a favor and book with Lisa. She's a true artist, an absolute professional, and just a lovely human. Mahalo, Lisa, for giving us memories we'll treasure forever!

First - I had a special photo of my son and I (from when he was 4) that I was hoping to recreate on his wedding day. Anna actually brought the photo on the day and they took so many photos, and were so painstaking to even get the hand and body positions perfect. I will cherish the photo that they created! On the day - the team showed up well before our event, and they even mounted flashes up high, around the space (inconspicuously), so there would be enough light at our outdoor venue. They took pictures of everything - the layout, the flowers, and then they captured everyone's expressions as they arrived, and all of the laughter and love during the evening. We have received over a thousand photos, and I have no idea how we will choose - they are all stunning. Throughout the process, Anna was quick to set up Zoom calls (we were off-island and in another time zone!), and quick to respond to emails personally and promptly. She was warm and personable throughout, just a truly kind person to work with. Her team members are all very kind, energetic (!) and eager to do whatever is requested. I wish we could hire Anna and her team for all our events!

She immediately put us at ease and made the entire experience feel effortless, natural, and genuinely joyful. Eloping can feel intimate and emotional, and she struck the perfect balance of being calming, professional, and wonderfully warm--never intrusive, but always exactly where she needed to be. Her eye for light, scenery, and candid moments is exceptional. She captured not just beautiful images, but the feeling of the day--the love, the excitement, the quiet moments, and the magic of Lānaʻi itself. Every photo feels authentic and timeless, not staged or forced. Beyond her talent, she was organized, responsive, and such a pleasure to work with. We felt completely confident trusting her with one of the most important days of our lives--and she exceeded every expectation. If you are considering her for an elopement or wedding, don't hesitate. She is truly exceptional, and we will treasure these photos forever.

Overall our photos were great and we had a great experience with our photographer. Two notes that…read moregave this a 3 star instead of 5. 1) Overall, poor job setting expectation when it comes to pricing options. When we asked the concierge person how the process works, she mentioned that they would book a complimentary photoshoot and we can pay for as many photos as we want. I asked her how much it would be to buy 1 photo and she said it would be $17.50 for each individual photo. I thought that was reasonable. When we completed the photoshoot and reviewed the photos, which turned out nice, the gal showed us the price options and I was very surprised that it was $80 PER photo. So we would be incentivized to pay for the more expensive package. I brought up how she told me each photo would be $17.50 and we could buy as many as we wanted, she acted surprised. Overall, I wouldn't mind paying for the photo packages, but the costs should have been presented upfront instead of having us invest the time and energy to take the photos, see them, then review the cost for the first time. 2) Don't recommend any pose that risk injury to young kids. The photographer suggested us doing a pose it which we pull our daughter up for a "swinging" picture, which we did and I accidentally dislocated our daughter's wrist. It was me who yanked her too suddenly, so I take full accountability for that, however, that pose should not have been recommended in the first place. Our daughter started crying right after because her elbow hurt from having her wrist dislocated, which I felt terribly for. The photographer felt bad too. Thank God a chiropractor nearby who happened to be in the area, saw what happened, came by, and adjusted her wrist. She was better.
