Staff was friendly - even during odd hours of the night - "You have no toiletries?" (Clearly she knew we were tourists.) We explained the whole missing bags thing to clear that up. They had everything we needed - clothes included - because who knows how long before our bags get delivered! Prices were reasonable - none of the tourists rates some places charge. What made it better is that it was only a couple of blocks away from our hotel. We returned a couple more times during the week for more basic stuff - mostly snacks, water and other rehydrating drinks. What I mostly appreciated is how conveniently located it is. In the situation we were in, we were grateful for it being where it is!

We ended up choosing a terracino, which was a wedge of roasted almond ice cream. We learned more history about the ice cream company, and then headed down the street to check out the original ice cream HQ down the street which is now a French patisserie!

The pharmacy service is really good, this is a good spot if you need to buy a quick present or if you forgot to buy the drinks for your friend's dinner. Another interesting thing is that for some reason most of the cashiers are usually smiling and nice, some are even willing to make small talk (if you want to)... I'm just saying this because it's a warm feeling when a cashier treats you as a person lol This is the kind of place that you are not thankful for until you don't have one around! Then there's the "I forgot to pack" syndrome which for me has included various toiletries, stationary, and charging cords. In these situations, the nearest chain drug store (Walgreens, CVS, etc.) is the best bet to restock. This one is on the way to the Plant, is easily accessible off the road, and has what you'd expect for a Walgreens. Nothing more nothing less. .I stopped in last week, they had what I needed, and I was soon on my way as it should be.

I had actually forgotten how nice it is to call and speak with a person. The other day, a young gentlemen came to my office with a prescription that was ready for my daughter without me even requesting delivery. Super impressed and love to support a local business.

They offer all the standard items of convenience stores from snacks, drinks, lottery in addition to household basics, medicines and of course, souvenirs and NOLA specific goods. Pricing here is a bit high, but that is not surprising. They know they are in a prime location and when you come here, you are paying for convenience. The store needs some TLC conditionally, and a little bit more attention to cleanliness wouldn't hurt. Service was super friendly and welcoming, which was a redeeming quality for this location. Overall, solid 3.5, but the cashier really made our day. We wandered in for a soda and drink, and got what we were after, but if we needed more than that, we would probably go elsewhere due to price point. But again, this spot came in clutch when needed.
