We were craving gelato after having dinner at Praça de Parada near the Clerigos Tower and were delighted to find this gelato shop just a few minutes walk away. I was initially attracted to this place due to the reviews mentioning fruity gelato flavors like watermelon, coconut and white grape but they must be seasonal because I was slightly disappointed to discover only 3-4 basic fruit sorbet flavors out of 12 flavors they were currently offering. My boyfriend opted instead for a scoop of pistachio, and after one lick I was enlightened. It tasted equally as good as the gelato that I've had in Italy and suddenly it made sense to me why everyone loves pistachio as I've never really been a big fan. Rich and nutty with a creamy, velvety texture that gives it just the right mouth-feel... and for less than 4 euros?? I only wish that we hadn't discovered this spot on our last night in Porto because I definitely would have been tempted to revisit. read more

This place is permanently closed. We walked round trying to find it and another merchant near the site told us it was closed last year, so don't waste your time looking for it. read more

Right down the street from my accommodation, on a beautiful and bustling city street. My family found this place randomly and my parents tried the coconut sorbet. They loved that it contained real coconut shavings. I tried the watermelon sorbet and immediately fell in love with it's refreshing flavor. To me it tastes just like a ripe, sweet, cold watermelon should. The first night I got half lemon as well. The lemon was tart as a lemon would be. The watermelon balanced it out with sweetness. I have gotten the watermelon flavor three nights in a row without trying more of the other flavors. I know what I like and this is it! read more

Gelataria Santini - Lemon and Watermelon sorbets in a small cone - Gelato Near Me - Porto, 13

One of the best gelatos I had. It was as good as the ones in Italy! There were so many delicious flavors to choose from. We chose the one that has 5 flavors on a metal bowl w/ a waffle on top (they call it TACA). Portion wise was just right w/o feeling like you are overeating. I shared this w/ my sister and we enjoyed every moment of it! The flavors were very natural and creamy. We liked it so much, we came back the next day and had the TACA again but w/ different flavors. Highly recommended! Decor is very retro, and spacious. The staff were super nice and friendly. read more

Try strawberry and green apple together. Incredibly good. Staff was extremely friendly and let us know they are best known for their fruit flavors. Lemon was TART. Strawberry amazing. Green apple amazing. Also tried pineapple, coconut, and lime (Pina colada) but had too many coconut chunks for my tastes. I've had gelato in multiple cities in Italy and Spain. This place is of that level of quality. Some other reviewer said they've had better gelato in the United States. That reviewer's tastebuds must have a very strange calibration problem. They probably also think Hershey's kisses are good chocolate... :p read more

Had to visit the best ice cream shop in town and I was not impressed. They have a ton of flavors which was great but I didn't want to have them translate all the flavors. I asked for the most popular flavor and it was strawberry..fruity flavors are not my usual go to since they are sweet and taste good on it's own and also is usually a sorbet. So I went with the strawberry basil and apparently that pairs best with the hazelnut. I had no idea. How was the combo? I can mix any ice cream flavors together so I won't be the right person to ask. The strawberry basil was definitely different from regular strawberry. The basil taste was apparent but there was something missing. As for the hazelnut, I have yet to enjoy elsewhere besides Italy. Maybe the hazelnut taste wasn't strong? If there were chunks of strawberry, basil and hazelnut in the mixture I think the batch would've been better. I loved the cone though - definitely different from the generic commercial cones. It was crisp, thick and not what I expected. read more

Delicious! Try the Tarte de anendoa. Also the crepes are great. And of course the gelato.

Not Bad at all, some flavours are awesome and other quite normal. Price is OK. There are tables on the outside or inside if it's too warm out there. You should give it a try. read more

Delicious flavors and many options, creamy and flavorful without being too sugary. The brownie isn't worth it though!! It was crumbly and didn't have much flavor- clearly this is a gelato place and that's what they excel at. I had the caramel and dulce de leche, and my friend swore the chocolate was the best thing he's ever eaten. Even though it's in a touristy area it certainly tastes good at a reasonable price! read more

Unknowingly my friend and I stumbled upon this gelato place because it was around the corner from our hostel, and it honestly changed our lives forever. This was hands down the BEST gelato we had during our entire 2-month Eurotrip, including every single place we tried in Italy (and we tried A LOT.) Every single flavour we tried here was so delicious and spot-on and never lost it's creamy texture or consistency. The lemon, coconut, melon, strawberry, whatever - all of the fruity flavours were so so creamy, which we later discovered was a RARE FIND, because most other places make fruit sorbet which is too icy in texture. And the almond flavour we had... AMAZING... so rich in flavour, so unbelievably creamy. I will say that the location in Lisbon was not quite as good as this one. But this is a MUST VISIT if ever in Porto!!!!! read more

The staff is wonderful here and so nice. This chain is well known for their fruit gelati. They do a beautiful job putting the gelato together, but all in all, I've had much better gelato in the US. Good for gelato in a pinch, but in my mind, it's just fine. read more
