I took my 5 year old daughter to Dr. Bhat to get a cavity filled and the experience was so good. The hygienist, Stephaney, was simply incredible with my daughter. She didn't force anything, explained things as she went along so my daughter wasn't surprised at any point, and just made her very comfortable in what I expected to be a scary experience. I had to write a review on here about the dental hygienist at this office, Stephaney Hygen. She is absolutely amazing. Overly accommodating and extremely friendly. My son doesn't take to much to anyone but he was so responsive with Stephaney and she interacted with him and got him to cooperate in such a fun and thoughtful way! The whole staff is professional and friendly here and have made going to the dentist a fun trip for my kids! The office is colorful and bright with cartoons and toys and goodies at the end of each visit, they even have flavored gloves! I definitely recommend this pediatric dental team! My son had a cavity filled this morning and he was very nervous-to say the least! But once we were taken back both the dental hygienist and Dr. Wiist were very comforting, asked what was wrong and made him feel better. They have flat screen tv's in each patient room with age appropriate movies on which is helpful in calming children down. My son was in and out in less than an hour, watched Garfield and left with two awesome prizes! I think this office is very child friendly, the ambience is fun, they have a well sized playroom up front and the staff is super friendly! Also it's at a great location. read more

1st Visit & definitely coming back. I drove from Charlotte to this office. It was worth it. I am so satisfied. My daughter was so scared to visit a dentist. She was crying and stressed out from the time we got into the office and before her treatment. The joyful and friendly staff from the receptionists, dental assistants, the doctor and check out reps were wonderful with my daughter, myself and my family who was waiting for us in the waiting room. They really worked with my daughter to make her feel comfortable, and they even put her in the pink room which is her favorite color. I can't thank you all enough for such a wonderful experience. We had been happy with the people as far as friendliness at this office. However, since switching dentists have found our children had so many cavities in just the 6 months since last visit at this office. The new dentist saw the xrays from this office and said these cavities were there 6 months ago. Two of these cavities resulted in root canals. We also exceeded our dental maximum benefits taking care of these problems that could have been avoided. I do not know what the problem is but because of this experience I would not recommend this office. The office space is worn compared to other area offices as well. read more

I would like to recognize the dedicated and compassionate service my son received at Dr. Bhat's office. Dental assistant Jannet Garcia spent a great deal of time scraping excess cement from my son's teeth after his palatal expander was put in at the orthodontist's office the day prior. My son was convinced his bottom molar was broken after he bit down on some bacon. Jannet took x-rays and put him at ease in the chair. She took his pain seriously and validated his urgent claim. Although the tooth was not broken, she didn't give up on his case until she found the source of his pain. While it would be easy to dismiss a child's complaint about a new appliance, she did not. As she worked, she often asked, "Does that feel better?" My son was so grateful when she finished that he said, "Thanks for bringing me here, mom." When does a kid ever thank his mother for taking him to the dentist? Never! After Dr. Bhat smoothed his inflamed lower molar and solved the underlying problem with his occlusion, we were all incredibly relieved! So I'd like to say a big thank you to everyone. This is the only dentist office my boys have known! They are very child-friendly and we've been very happy with their care. When my second son was having his first visit, Ms. Stephaney did everything in her power to make him feel comfortable and ease him into the cleaning. She let him sit on a stool and watch her clean my older son's teeth, explaining exactly what she was doing. He still wasn't sure so she was willing to do his first cleaning with him in my lap. She knows us and has built a relationship with the whole family! read more

UPDATED: I felt the need to lower the stars from 4 to 3. One of my children has begun to have dental problems (cavities, but also problems showing up in the xrays with the permanent teeth that haven't erupted yet plus other jaw issues). Dr. Bhat wouldn't discuss the non-cavity problems with us at all. She said we had to talk to the orthodontist. We will, of course, see an orthodontist, but she wouldn't give us some basic facts about the problems. Our feeling is that any doctor who has received years of training should know some basic info to tell patients. I have also heard from several sources that Dr. Bhat is not a "true" licensed pediatric dentist, but I did not confirm her credentials myself. I then took my child to my "dentist for grown ups" and my dentist confirmed what we were told, but also found some other issues that not been told to us by Bhat, and then EXPLAINED it all to us. She then referred us to an orthodontist for follow-up. ORIGINAL: My children have been going to Dr. Bhat for several years. Starting in the lobby: it is a nice front area and my kids LOVE the play room with all the toys. I also like that they sanitize the toys daily! Regarding the teeth cleaning: the various hygienists have been very good with my kids -- even when the kids were only 18/24 months and a little nervous. I like that they play kid movies on TV's in front of the dental cleaning chair so that the kids can focus on that. At my last visit, my daughter was on the borderline for needing her first teeth xrays - Dr. Bhat suggested waiting as everything else looked good and why bother with the radiation now if it could be delayed for 6 months? I appreciated that! I usually always have the kids see Dr. Bhat as she is good with the children. You can tell she really cares about children. One time she was out and Dr. Wiist was in the office. I did not like his personality very much, otherwise I would have given the office 5 stars. Note: he was not a bad dentist; his personality just did not agree with mine. read more

This is absolutely the best dentist office! We travel from Wilson to come here. My boys gravitate towards Staphaney. She goes out of her way to welcome us. I did not hang up on your office manager. I explained to her, the same that I did to the dentist that did not bother to give us the proper attention nor her name; after our hour and 15 minute wait. Not one hour. Over an hour. I said I would not speak to anyone other than you. The front staff stated on 3 separate occasions they would get the situation resolved immediately. Obviously that did not occur. I do understand you were on vacation, everyone is entitled to a vacation. But being a business owner, you should have the proper staff in place. I for one would not continue to employ such inconsiderate and insubordinate employees and I suggest you take that into consideration as well. I addition, I also suggest taking a more personal interest in checking up on your cleaning company as they are doing you a dis-service. And lastly, if I received a phone call from you, I would have returned it. Your office has my contact number. read more
