An older man that works in there was friendly, his name was David, I think? not too sure nonetheless I took my laptop to get fixed , the hinge had broken off and I was told it could be fixed starting quote was $60 and that they would CALL me if there was price change or difficulty with the fixing. I get a message stating it's ready for pick up and that my total was $160 which whatever I didn't mind at first because I was confident my laptop would be fixed ! I go to pick it up only to notice the bottom was not even placed back in correctly and that the hinge was just basically glued back in , where in the world is that worth $160!? Supposedly labor but I doubt it's hard to glue something ...I tried to be nice and understanding but I just got frustrated because I kept going in and out 3x maybe that I noticed something was off with my laptop that in the end I took it to another shop and they told me I got ripped off. Save your money. Wish I could've left a more positive review but sadly that's not the case. read more

I came in with hardware issues for a Macbook Pro. They told me it would take an hour to perform a $90 cleaning. I was totally okay with that. However, It took over a day. They call to tell me it's a software issue and that they would need to partition my data reinstall the OS, and install "anti popup software" (???). I explained that I had already tried that. Nope. They still needed my password which I'm not legally authorized to give. As we were cancelling my ticket on their computer, I noticed that 0 hours and 0 minutes were spent on my job. I ended up opening the computer myself and cleaning it out with compressed air. Since I didn't have all the proper tools it took longer than I would have liked, but 2/3 issues I came in with were solved. It turns out the other issue is covered free by Apple. read more

Took my ipad air in for screen replacement was given a 1 week estimation. After waiting a week i called to pick up a few times no answer then luckily got thru and they said they were having issues and were hoping to have it done in 1 week. Turns out they werent working on it/ having difficulty with the new screen replacement order, gave me another week. So 3 weeks later after drop off they call to say there was still technical difficulties but they could give me a white instead of black screen and could pick up that day.i choose to stick black and got to pick up later that day but notice home button is difficult to press and the new screen has sensitivity issues. There was a scratch and fingerprint behind screen. Did the job but low satisfactory. read more

The people I dealt with either didn't know what they were doing or were not listening. I went there to have hard drives removed from two computers. They changed my request and wanted to charge me $60 to copy images and documents only, onto a flash drive, and they claimed one of the two computers didn't work even though I told them it took several times to get it started. It had been working before I brought it to them. If they had listened to me and got it booted properly, then copied images and documents from that drive, it would have been another $60. NO WAY! So I guess they would have charged me $120 for something I never asked them for. All I wanted was to have them remove and hand me the hard drives. In the end they came by my place, put the computers on my porch and practically ran off; they didn't even stop for 30 seconds to talk with me, I'm sure because they knew I would tell them how dissatisfied I was. I cannot recommend this place at all. I definitely will not even go there to buy new products, let alone get something repaired. The female who answered assured me they had it, well 10 hours later i had to go to the store just to find out they were wating on the battery to be delivered. Do Not Use These Guys. They just want your money and they're not as skilled as they would have you believe. I asked them to simply reinstall Windows 10 on my computer ($120). They successfully did this, but damaged my USB ports and then charged me $100 more to fix them. They said I had damaged the ports, but the events below prove otherwise. My computer was working perfectly, but it would not successfully perform a Windows Update. So I asked the Geek Team to reinstall Windows 10, which is a simple operation I could have done myself, but I didn't want to take the time to do it. They reinstalled Windows 10. I paid $120 for their service, and I took my computer back to my office. After using the computer for a couple of hours I found that Windows File Manager hung while attempting to copy files from the hard drive to a USB drive. So I took the computer back to GTT. They discovered the USB ports were damaged and told me they could fix them for $100. I need my computer to work. So I agreed to have them fix it and paid them $100. When I picked up my computer the technician tried to demonstrate the USB ports working properly by plugging in a USB mouse. The mouse didn't work (Because the computer did not have time to install the mouse drivers.). So the technician pulled the connector out of the USB port. Rotated it 180 degrees, and then plugged it back into the port. As you may know, USB connectors only go in one way. So this action damaged the new USB port. In fact, the damage was identical to the previously damaged port. It's important to note here that I did not plug anything into the port. The technician did, and I saw her improperly plug a connector into the port. That said, I had them reorder new ports and replace the newly damaged ones. I don't care about the $100 that was charged for replacing the ports. It's more important to me to have a functional computer. The bigger problem you might be interested in hearing is Eli, the owner, told me he thought the problem was caused by a bad USB drive in my office. Even though I had made it clear in two conversations with Eli that I had not put anything into the USB port, Eli put the blame on me. He did not take responsibility, and he did not attempt to train his employee that caused the problem. I did not ask to be reimbursed for the $100. I only asked Eli to train his employee so that she would not do the same to other customers. So Don't Use These Guys. read more

Glad they're in business but they're rather lose money than make it. A complete misunderstanding led to me getting charge 100 to fix my phone than the 60 I was quoted. Walked away with a broken screen anyway and they didn't make a buck. Front staff is pretty cool though, she was pleasant, apologetic, and super nice. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER The girls that answer the phone are completely rude and never know what they are talking about and the service takes foreverrrr. My husbands phone needed a new screen, so they replaced the screen but then also replaced the home button without permission. After a few days, the home button wouldn't work at all! I took my laptop in about a year ago because it would not turn on. I had no idea what was wrong, I had it for half a year(it was brand new), then it sat on a shelf for a year, never being touched in that time. I brought it in, and after taking twice the time to look at it than I was originally quoted, I was told it could not be fixed. I blindly accepted that and stuck it back in storage without even looking at it. Normally I would not write a review after so long, but I recently learned a bit about fixing computers myself, so I decided to pull it out and see what I could do. Oh. My. God. The port that the power cord plus into is missing entirely(there is just a big hole there where it used to be, and it was definitely there when I took it in), there are missing bits on the inside, pieces that won't fit anymore because they've been broken off, etc. They mutilated my computer. I desperately wish I had checked immediately after getting it back, because this was an expensive computer and at the very least I would like to have gotten the pieces back that are missing. After realizing what had been done to it, and coming here to read other reviews, it is obvious that they like to take advantage of people they think won't notice. I do not recommend coming here if you value your tech. read more

The girl told me if anything happens in a month to bring it back. I went the next day and they said they couldn't fix it since the screen was cracked when the girl clearly said bring it back if I have any problems. Also, they told me that they could give me a discount of $20 and pay for it all over again, why waist my money for them to mess it up again. I took in my phone in April to have the screen that was not able to function on certain areas. A new screen was ordered, meanwhile they put a functioning replacement so I could use my phone. I had the screen replaced with the new one but brought it back the same or next day (can't recall exactly) because the screen was lifting. So the very nice tech lady took off the new screen and added adhesive. Problem was fixed for a while until I noticed a green blob on the screen. So, I took it back they so graciously offered to have the new screen sent back to the manufacturer and see if they could have a replacement sent. During this visit I was told various times it was "damaged and my fault", needless to say I take care of my phones with great care they are my WORK TOOL! I was told it would be probably a week turn-around time. I went in a week later (their communication is quite awful, no "still waiting" or anything) no replacement. Waited another week: no communication, no replacement. Finally the third week I go in... was told manufacturer says the new screen got lost (I'm understanding because COVID-19 is really messing with mail time etc etc) so I am told they will call the manufacturer and they will know in an hour at this time I also asked about refund options, the male tech I could tell didn't like it and beat around the bush.... I went home waited two hours and again, no communication. So I call and the nice tech lady answers and finally the male tech (maybe the owner?) jumps on the phone, graciously empathizes and says "come in tomorrow at 8am we will put on a new screen". Prior to leaving my phone I asked the male tech what are my refund options again and the cost, if any, to have this new less expensive screen put on. He said (paraphrasing) "we will put it on and refund you $60... well, I didn't like that refund amount but we would both be losing time and hopefully settling the job. I left my phone and it gets replaced with a new screen (not the quality I ordered which was more expensive). Then the male tech comes out saying that my phone frame is bent, again blaming it on me. So the nice tech lady comes out and says she can put on another new screen to see if it's maybe the one she put on. She kindly replaced it and I picked it up with her and I told her what the male tech said about the $60 refund. After a few minutes of conversing with the tech lady her comes the male tech irritated and raising his voice at me "no no no we were supposed to charge you for this new screen" and I answer him repeating what he said about the refund and that I wouldn't have left it had he said he would charge me again. Then now starts yelling "we're not starting, I have too much work" and going off on a rant and I tell him "I'm not starting, you are." And finally yells "it's fine, you can go". Mind you I'm 8 months pregnant, so I'm trying to keep my cool during a yelling session from this guy and I ask him "are you sure?" And he just walked away continuing his rant. So I walked out. I work in the medical field and I can almost guarantee this male has an affected memory (for whatever reasoning) if you go... be aware and GET WRITTEN QUOTES OR AGREEMENTS. Needless to say, I will never return because of him...nor will I recommend this shop because of him EVER! The tech lady is very knowledgeable and communicative but this guy is a character and so disrespectful. read more

I should have read the reviews first! I took my computer for repair, and they told me it was the battery. They also said it was in stock. I left my laptop there and logged off. I did Not give them my password since I figured they could log in as a guest. They later called me to tell me I'd have to wait until a new battery arrived because the ones they "claimed" to have in stock were defective. No problem, I waited! When I went to pick up the laptop several days later, the machine was on, meaning they had logged on -- remember I did not give them my password. When I questioned, asking how they had logged on, the manager claimed I must have given the PW to them. He checked the notes and there was nothing there. He claimed he could check the surveillance tapes to prove I had left the computer on -- change of Story. I told him I did use it there but assured him I had logged off. He said that giving them the PW is a must anyway, and if he had known that I didn't trust him with my PW, he would've told me to go somewhere else -- he proceeded to make a "leave" gesture with his hand. Rude! I paid and got out of there! If some of my files or info appears somewhere unauthorized, I know where it came from. Shady! Rude! Shady! Take your business somewhere else! read more

people do not go to this scam of a place! i took an external drive into to this place on a thursday, to have them extract the files off of it so it would be view able on any media player. they told me to come back in at the end of the day, and it would be ready. so, i called them around 4pm, and they said they would do it first thing in the morning and they would call ass soon as it was ready. the material was time sensitive, but i understood stuff happens, so i told them i would wait for their call. the next day came along, and i waited all day, nobody called me so i figured i would give them a call. so i waited to 4pm in case they needed a little more time, and then. i called them up, and they tell me their guy was out of town until monday, and they would call me as soon as he fixed it.they assured me it would be ready by noon on monday.. on monday i never heard from them so i decide i would call them. i called them, towards the end of the day and the guy tells me, it will be ready before they closed that day, and they would be calling me shortly...i wait and .no call. the next day(tuesday) i call them and wanted to know what was going on?,,,,they put the owner on the phone,,,his name is eli.....he gets on the phone and got nasty with me, and yelled at me and told me that i didnt need to be calling there anymore, and to come get my device it was corrupt. he was very very rude to me, and i was very patient during this ordeal...so i go down there, pick up my device...5 days wasted!...this is horrible business practice.. i went there, and picked up my device.and took the device right down the road to another computer repair, and they fixed it in 30 minutes! as far as i am concerned, may the fleas from a million camels infest their tents! people do not go there....i now found out from several other people that this eli guy does this quite often! he messed my friends laptop up, and then got nasty with him too....i just wished i would have known this before i even stopped foot in there doors..... i should have known tho, because when you call there, they have a recording telling you to unblock your number and your conversation is being recorded! that should have a raised a red flag right there! i take it this eli jerk must have enemies out there! read more

This place is horrible! I took in my iPhone to get the screen fixed because it was cracked. I was told on the phone that it would cost $160, and to get the battery replaced it would only cost the price of the part ($20) because they were already working on my phone. I took it here, even though there's places that charge less for the screen because I wanted the battery done also. So I went in and asked to get both the screen and battery done. After waiting 2.5 hours, I went in to pick it up and they didn't even replace the battery. They said they forgot, and would do it but it would be another hour. I didn't have time to wait so I asked if I could come back another day and get it done for the $20 because it was their fault and the woman working there said no. Then, since having the screen fixed, it doesn't work well. You have to press harder, so it creates a lot of mistakes when typing because you miss letters. And taking snapchat videos are impossible because when you try to hold it down for video it only goes for a second then stops because you're not pressing hard enough, even when pressing way harder than I used to have to. I took it in and explained these problems and also asked to have them do the battery because they didn't the first time, and the woman (a different one than the first time) was very nice and said they would do it for the $20 since they didn't the first time. After them looking at it, the screen still doesn't work. The new battery is TERRIBLE. it doesn't charge past 89% and takes FOREVER to charge. Seriously if you want your phone fixed correctly do not go here. It's a complete headache and the phone isn't even fixed properly. It's a waste of time and money. read more

He seemed more knowledgeable about computer software than any other local business I called for tech support. The auto glass industry can be very stressful, however Eli and his Geeks had my computers up and running within a few hours; they really saved my business, Many hours, even days of agony or even a new computer purchase were saved. Thank You Geek Tech Team! If you ever need computer repair in Porterville, or like me, break your iphone screen, call Geek Tech Team, they had to replace the glass screen on both my ipod and iphone!
