If you don't have a minimum knowledge of technologies, they will use it to take advantage and charge you with extra work that is not necessary. it is like you bring your car to a mechanic to fix the motor, and they will say that need to test the tires to make sure they cover the issue of the motor. They lie with every argument and excuse of their work. In my case, this business did not even tell me what is the fee they will charge for their service. They said that they worked on my device for one hour doing some testing on the drives of my NAS(network-attached storage) when it is not necessary as already have been done but they didn't know because never talk to me about the job to be done and I never ask to do it. Which even could cause a loss of data. Thanks that I already saved the data. I requested before touch my device to call me to explain what is the job that I wanted to be done. It is like going to a mechanic and you ask to talk to a mechanic before working on your car, the mechanic never calls you and works on something that you don't need. then, they will charge you any amount of money. The folks at Mac East (Kathleen and Barry) were friendly and professional in how they explained the many steps needed to try to revive a wet MacBook. They under-promised and - WOW - did they OVER-deliver! I a week they called to say they had been successful. The Mac was working and the data saved AND backed-up. I reply to him that I'm in front of the TV and I'd like to put an order in for one but he kind of, sighs and says he's in the middle of something and he's up in the valley. I thought I was calling his business phone, so I ask him, when is a good time to call back. He tells me in a couple of hours. I may have been interested in calling him back if he sounded a little more professional and didn't brush me off. I quickly went online to Amazon.ca and found the same model bulb for half the cost Pyxis was offering and delivered right to my door. No thank you Pyxis. Customer service goes a long way. It lasted 6 and a half weeks then stopped working. Not at all what I am used to getting from a TV. Lucky I still have my old TV which is from 1991 RCA brand and still works without issue. We have it up and running right now in fact with the broken 6 and a half week TV sitting broken beside it. Sorry for the long intro. I had to set the stage. I called sunsung support they put a support ticket in with Pyxis that night and the next morning first thing I got a call from Pyxis. They came by a few hours later and did some trouble shooting and ordered parts and will be back. I am sure they will have my issue fixed and change it all to samsung as it is under warrenty. Thank you Pyxis for great service and dam you samsung for making a product that did not last. Glad I still have my 1991 rca to watch tonight.

If you're a student, this is a great place for you to have repairs done to your computer or printer. Their rates are pretty good and in my experience, I've ended up paying less here than I would have, had I taken it to a non-Dal affiliated shop. They estimate about $30 for PC repairs and about $60 for laptop repairs. They can also provide students with new batteries for their laptops, as well as power cords and a slew of other computer related accessories. They often have to order the parts in, so expect to wait a few days for your request to be filled. As a student, I took my laptop to these folks a few times. They are sometimes able to to provide warranty covered repairs, charging the company instead of you - but that's something you'll have to ask about. Be prepared to show your proof of purchase or warranty info if you're hoping to skip paying the bill. Hardware Services is a great Dalhousie resource. Take advantage while you can, Dal kids!

I've been charged more than double for much, much less at other computer service places. I was also very impressed with the level of communication they encouraged between myself and them. They totally understand that people are in a mad rush to get their computers back, and every time I phoned them, they took time to explain exactly what they knew so far, what they were doing next, and told me when to call back (sometimes just a few hours later) It's so nice to be kept in the loop.
