I've been to GEDA 3 times. I needed a refill from a different salon and they said that was ok to do.
The first time, the lash artist, Maria, over glued my lashes so they didn't naturally fall out for a 2 week fill. The second time Myrna was good but there was a language barrier as this studio is primarily Spanish speaking, many artists do not speak English which is hard when discussing what you're looking for - and this is your face. She did a nice job. The third time Myrna nailed it. Still very hard to communicate and all of the text information I received for confirmations were in Spanish. I wish I spoke Spanish and don't. I went to GEDA as their advertising was in English- so it is fair to expect English to be spoken. Not the case. The owners seem to be fluent in English but were not overly helpful with interpretation. I was comfortable with Myrna and scheduled another fill. The day of the fill I was told I would need a new fresh set of lashes for health and sanitary reasons. I've been getting my lashes professionally done for 6 years in Chicago and had never heard this.
If they wanted to do a fresh set, that should have been my first appointment as a new client- not my 4th. I decided this salon is not for me.
Apparently GEDA caters to the Spanish population and has a strong clientele. So if you speak Spanish your experience may be better.
If GEDA would like to grow their business I would suggest addressing the language barrier.
And after my first time there- when Maria over glued my lashes, they should have offered a new set on them- as my lashes were not in good shape. Or as a new client- start with new set and not a refill. I would have done this.
I recently went to a different lash artist who is bilingual as well and had a great experience. It took her a long time to remove my lashes as there was so much glue from GEDA. I was her second client that had an unpleasant experience at GEDA too. This client mentioned the "suggested full lash requirement after 2 fills" and the language barrier as well.
I wish them the best of luck - just not for me and I feel I wasted my hard earned money. I am disappointed and cannot recommend this salon. read more
