I brought in my 2012 Chevy Silverado for a Tranmission rebuild. They did a great job rebuilding it for a great price and also took care couple other things they brought up for a good deal on top. I would recommend this shop to anybody that needs auto Work done. Customer Service 10 out of 10. Be understanding and put yourself in the mechanics shoes. read more

Gear Pro Transmission - I took a pic of how many miles are on the car once I dropped it off. They have a 1 year 24k warranty - Transmission Repair Near Me - Orlando, Florida

Let me start of by saying I know the auto repair business is a tough business to be in: customers are never happy, they rarely understand how cars work, how troubleshooting works, how expensive it to run a business etc (former service advisor here). I drove from Tampa to Orlando to have these guys do a gear swap and install a tru trac in my truck. I told them multiple times, well in advance, that I was in town for a conference and had 3 days, Wed through Fri...can you do it it that time. Yes- was the answer. They had it from Tuesday night until the following Tuesday. Not the end of the world but still. Now, a month later, the rear pinion seal is leaking. I call and let them know that I need to set this up to drive over and have them look at it same day. We can't do that- you'll have to drop it off. I can't do that, I'm in Tampa I need to set this up for same day...you just drop the drive shaft, pop the pinion seal, replace and re attach drive shaft. We can't do that, you'll have to drop it off. Bottom line, this place is going to be hit or miss. The place looks like a junk yard (the parking area literally looks like all junked cars), the shop is a disorganized mess. In general, there is a lack of professionalism (read John's replies here on yelp). My guess is you can get good work done here on a good day. There aren't many transmission and differential places still around so your choices are limited. If you have other options available, I'd recommend you lean in that direction. read more

Absolutely do not take your car here for repairs. This shop "rebuilt" my transmission twice and my vehicle still has the exact same issues as before. When I called after the second repair to let them know, John was extremely rude, dismissive, and acted as if I didn't know what I was talking about -- insisting there was "no way" the car could be doing the same thing. I brought it back in, and the supposed owner even admitted, "I can't believe they let the vehicle leave like this." I lost over $3,600 on the transmission alone and spent another $1,000+ on Ubers and rental cars. The owner promised to reimburse me for half of those costs of the rentals, but I have yet to see a single penny. Do yourself a huge favor: go somewhere else. Save your money, your time, and your sanity. read more

My husband took his 2015 Toyota Tundra 1794 to them on March 4lth due to slippage in transmission gear and paid over $4k. . It has been back three times since then and still doing the same thing . It's been towed back to them three times . They said it's fixed but he drives it one day and see it's not . They also put over 400 miles on his truck while they had it and brought it back on empty . I wish he had read these reviews . This company seems to be a scam and we will seek all avenues to get his $4252.20 back. The Florida Attorney General definitely needs to know about this rip off company . Isaac read more

Took my car in for transmission diagnosis code, my Hyundai 2011 Accent was jerking as I drove but other mechanic codes & Autozone said I only needed sensor P073 -75, spoke with a John yet went in person and the owner on Fla Business file is Rueben, they kept my car for almost a month stating it was the transmission I needed not sensor did not show me diagnosis report or took picture of the part or transmission like John promised over the phone did not want to provide me with a written estimate until I pay him, charged me $2043. for used transmission (not sure if he really did change it) month later they say its the TCM to pay more money, lost days from work, time consuming going back for third time they had to replace a defective transmission, yet they did not really know what was wrong or did not diagnosed properly, this shop seems dishonest, in dispute with them, dont recommend it. read more

Transmission failed on my 2019 Chevrolet Silverado, when I called I spot with John who verified my worse nightmare, he explained what failed, and explained what it was going to take to repair my transmission, gave me an estimate of cost and was able to get on it right away since we were full time rvers, when I picked it up, the transmission failed within 25 miles of the shop, John was able to get right on it, they stood behind their work, I picked it up after the repair was completed, transmission failed within 25 miles again, again John picked truck, he found that they had received a defective torque converted, and the Tcm was defective, both were replaced under warranty, while this was an inconvenience for us, I've been in there shoes where parts failed, I was very impressed with the professionalism of this repair shop, the quickness that they stood by their work and warranty. I highly recommend this shop, because they made me feel important and was very concerned about what failed on my transmission. It has preformed as designed since the final repair, as we towed our camper 800 miles to our final destination without any further issues, thank you John and the crew at your shop! read more

I felt I was treated unfairly by the person taking calls and was probably the one arranging the schedule for the company. One of the owners, who actually managed the shop portion, was actually empathetic and understanding throughout the process. Within days I was experiencing problems with my vehicle. The problem was intermitent, but lasted for two months with the shop not being able to diagnose the problem. The vehicle was in their shop on and off for those two months until I had it brought to another mechanic, who does not work on transmissions, that finally diagnosed the problem within three hours. After calling the transmission shop, they told me to bring it in that following week early in the day and they would have it fixed by day's end. Well that didn't happen and after numerous calls, they finally got the vehicle fix after 2 1/2 months after the initial transmission work. Besides being rudely treated by the putz on the phone, I had the distinct feeling he was being extremely deceitful the entire time my vehicle was at their shop. They had also charged me a towing fee on the initial transmission work. I later read on their website that towing would be free if they do the transmission work. I think the employees and shop foreman are good employees, and fair in their pricing, but the putz on the was being ignorant and totally unprofessional. I have worked in an industry where I have never seen this kind of behavior towards a customer. read more

This is a fraudulent company. They are not rebuilding transmissions with new parts. They are doing rig jobs not actually repairing the vehicles. They also cause other damage to the vehicles being worked on. They will not take blame or hold responsibility. They lie and five you the run around. One of the owners is very offensive, rude, yells, cusses, lies, turn the tables on you, and will hang up on you and not answer your call when confronting him about the issues. This 'owner' told me they are making $40,000 a week off of people. There are endless reviews on various platforms with all the same complaints (taking your cash money, not providing refunds, having to return the vehicle back for the repair, not getting what you paid for, vehicle not getting fixed but having paid for it, being spoken to terribly, and other damage being caused to your vehicle while in their shop and them not taking ownership for it). They have an F rating with the Better Business Bureau due to complaints and not responding to the complaints. I have filed a report with the Attorney General's Office, Department of Agriculture Consumer Services, BBB, and the Federal Trade Commission for them to investigate this company. I am also going to all the local news channels for them to do a story on this non accredited business, and I have reached out to some of the other people that have left these same reviews they have done this to, to build a case against them. If you are another victim of this business file your complaint with these same agencies. You can also take them to small claims court. Call the FL Bar to locate an attorney. Once they are found that they are doing botch jobs but selling new parts and service, they will get shut down and no one else's life will have to be destructed by them while they are gaining for themselves at the expense of our lives. read more

My Porsche 911 blew up after clutch kit installed. The car was literally on fire. The intersection off Delaney and Michigan was blocked for miles. Rescue team had to take out the fire and my car was left in soot. This repair shop had left the fuse box panel exposed which is hazardous!!!!!!!!!! The cover for the fuse box was not intact either!!! Please DO NOT bring your car to this shop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DANGER! I could have died as a result of this repair shop's ignorance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

I must say I originally believed these guys were genuine and did their best to fix my car, however after having my car in their shop for over a month, bringing it in 3 separate times to get it fixed with no avail, I asked for a refund and John told me without any apology, "Dispute it with your credit car company", I must say the owners do not give a crap about their customers. This has been one of the most stressful months of my life and they did not accommodate me for any of it. Therefore, they warrant this review. I brought my car in to get the transmission fixed on March 8th, over a week later on March 17th, I went to pick it up and on that same day, the transmission had worse problems than when i brought it in. They have a year warranty which is nice, so i decided to take it back and have them look at it. On my drive there, my car broke down on the side of I-4 in which i was stuck for 3 hours before i got it towed the rest of the way. Finally we made it to them and turns out the pully was defective. They told me they would have it done in a few days. Those few days went by and i asked them if it was almost done, they then told me the part is taking a while to ship and that it would be done by the start of the next week. Then that time came, and I got a dreaded phone call that the part came in and it was defective. I was told they could have it done by the end of the week... that time came and they said the part still didnt come in. At this point my car had been in their shop for almost a month. Finally at the beginning of this week i picked up my car. I went on a test drive with Jose and the car was making the same noise it did before it broke down on I-4. I was almost certain it would break down again, but I took it home anyway ( I live in Tampa ) and with no surprise, yesterday it broke down again. After spending close to a thousand dollars on rental cars during the interim, I asked if they could in any way compensate me for my troubles. They said they cannot. I asked for a discount and they refused as well. Finally just yesterday I asked for a refund and he told me to dispute it with my credit card company. The fact that as of now my transmission is still broken and they won't offer a refund is as low and cruel as it gets. I must now stress with handling a claim to my credit card company. I understand they have probably spent a lot of money on the parts for my car and for them to end up being defective, but as a business i would expect some kind of compensation for not having my car for over an entire month. I went to them because they seemed to have the cheapest price, but I have now learned the valuable lesson of you get what you pay for. If i could go back in time i would have happily went somewhere a little more expensive, because i would have actually saved money due to having to rent a total of ( 4 ) rental cars during this time. My advice to Gear Pro: Do not over deliver and over promise. If you know it may take a week to get a part, dont tell me 3 days. And after seeing all the stress i went through, at the very least give me $100 off. And now that my car is still broken and you won't refund me is icing on the cake. Because now with writing this review, you may potentially lose a future customer whos reading this and miss out on thousands, all because you could not help me just a little. José was the one who worked on my car, he seemed very genuine and I understood his situation, but if he and John are not going to refund me, that is absolutely horrible. My transmission is broken at this very moment I am writing this and I am down $2500. I believe you guys did what you could to fix my car, but for you to not fix my car and take my money is the same as theft. I do wish you both the best, but with all respect, I will never be doing business with you again. read more

i took a nursing position in Orlando to help out with the crisis here. I drove from New York to Orlando and knew I would need an oil change once I got there. Yelped oil stations and gear pro came up first. Googled it and found it to be 15 minutes away. I drove and made it there. Once walking in everyone was working and greeted me with a nice hello. I told him I needed an oil change and he gladly helped. They were very respectful and kind and efficient. I would recommend this place over and over again. read more

Took me a while to think if I was gonna leave a review or not, but as I drive my car I get more and more agrgevated. So here goes and plz read it all. First I was quoted $2800(ish) by John. I walked in and was greeted by Ruben, he gave me a $3100(ish) quote. (Right there I should of walked away-as I don't like to do business with Partners). So per Ruben he was gonna talk to John, and I was quoted $3000. I left car and was told by John that car would be 3-5 days, which I knew was gonna be hard ,due to Pandemic. So I waited patiently and after many texts (which some were never answered). I got my car back. (Novela time). So I took car for a Family drive with my 68 yr old mom and 5 year old daughter. Coming back on Highway the car did a very hard jerk and my poor mom hurt her shoulder with seatbelt, and my 5 yr old was shaken as it felt like Transmission was gonna fall. So next day as I am telling my story to John, this thing has no compassion for anyone but himself, and didn't offer an apology, but told me he "Didn't want to hear all that".WTF. So I bring car back, and am told what issue is, and they ordered part. So I get a text from John on Dec 11,2021, that part was in. In the mail I get a Red Light Ticket from Winter Park Police, so my car on Dec 1, 2021, went thru a Red Light on Lee RD and Orlando Ave, an 8 second into light kinda ticket. So I called both John and Ruben and told them who was driving, but beforehand spoke to WPPD and Officer told me I needed the Name,DOB,and Address of driver so they can issue them the ticket. After asking Both Owners Numerous times who was driving, it seems they were protecting the person and refused to give me that persons full info. LOLOL. That was funny, so me being from the Hood, figured it out! John is rude and has no Customer Service and speaks to Customer with full disrespect and Ruben is a very Nice and Laid back guy, I did research and Johns name is nowhere on any records as owner. (he the secretary), per Ruben, he and Jose are the owners.(per public records its true). I feel this place has to much workload and not enough workers! My $3000.00 I lost as my car is the same, and I need to spend $1200.00 to fix issue. I have asked for Receipt for parts many time, I am still waiting! Not because I do Voodoo or am a Medium, But this place won't last another year! SO STAY AWAY, FAR AWAY! read more

The suggestion that they will take 25 percent off the price with the coupon on their website is nonsense as its actually "already taken off" according to the guy who booked me in to get a new transmission. The starter bolt on the starter motor that was removed to get the new transmission in was not reinstalled properly so I had to replace the starter motor. I only found out why the starter motor wouldn't work after another mechanic went to replace it so obviously he replaced it. I have asked for the reimbursement for the starter motor however because another mechanic did the work they have not got back to me with this. It makes no difference who replaced it and I wasnt there to see my transmission installed and yet paid what I was required to do so. I totally regret using this outfit for anything. read more
