We just moved into this new house, but I couldn't program the remote garage keypads from the old owners code. The instructions looked easy enough. GDR was on recommendation of a neighbor. They showed up on time, were pleasant, and started with "the instructions for this Chamberlain remote are wrong". The first instruction just doesn't do it (it's the apparently easiest). I want to say that the initial installation and work that was done was done to my satisfaction, but now, three years later after a wheel came off the track and it buckled my panals I have called them out to fix this as I have full warranty. I am told that it is NOT covered under warranty and that it would be just as much as I initially paid for the new panels, springs, motor and key pad!! I asked, how could this be??? They arrived with in a half hour of calling. They assess the situation and then tell you how much it will cost to fix it. It was very reasonable. He fixed the issue quickly by recalibrating the garage door, oiling the door and spring, recalibrating the spring so it would not hurt anyone (the door slammed down with force when it came off the track) and programmed my car opener. Every other garage door repair company that I called told me it would take two days before they could help me and having my car stuck in the garage for two days was not an option. The service provided was exceptional. The technician took time to make fine tune adjustments to the the door's motor and tracking. He also checked the chain and track -- discovering that the track had become disconnected from the garage door header. He immediately added a new bracket and bolted it in place. He inspected all the rollers and determined they did not need to be replaced, and offered a lesser price for the visit. Who does that anymore? GREAT service providers do, that's who! He performed a safety check and tightened and lubricated as necessary. I appreciated the time he took to educate me as a homeowner and the operation of the door and mechanism, as well as simple ongoing maintenance I can perform to add longevity to the equipment, as well as continued smooth operation. He replaced the bottom seal as well. I highly recommend this company, and wish more service providers had the same focus on customer service and education. read more

What a great job our service tech did! I called with an issue on our main garage door and the same day a tech was out to give me a free quote. Because of the size of the spring it wasn't in stock but he measured and had one the very next day. Most important part was that he informed me that the springs tend to break at the same time but did not try and up sell me into purchasing three other springs for the ones that were not broken. I very much appreciated his hard work and how quick he was able to fix the problem. Five stars for sure!! read more

Just had them over to figure out why the garage door wasn't opening and closing properly. $49 service charge had it all fixed. It was not the ground-level sensor, it was a sensor inside the roof mechanism that needed to be adjusted due to the age of the garage opener (circa 1995). He explained everything as he went along, ruling out possibilities. If it happens again, I will be able to help myself... what a wonderful thing! That experience was very positive -- scheduling appointment was easy, appointment made at my convenience and technician arrived as scheduled and was knowledge and courteous. Very pleased. And honestly, never expected to have to use them again. However, I found myself needing to replace my only garage door opener so I called Garage Doors Repairs & Installations because my previous experience was so positive and the tech left a sticker on the wall of my garage with their name and number (with my permission; thought I'd humor him ... who knew???). My second experience was as positive as the first for all the reasons mentioned above. The tech set-up my new garage door opener and also set-up the keypad that I was never able to use because I couldn't clear out the old code set by the previous owner and set a new code. The tech was extremely knowledge, pleasant and patient and the folks in the office very pleasant and accommodating. I never asked for an estimate for the job since I needed an opener and needed it quickly. I was blown away with the price -- it was very, very, reasonable considering I got a new opener that was operational when the tech left, the keypad is now operational and the tech did not rush the job, he spent time setting everything up and testing it and he made sure I understood how everything worked plus everything was handled very expeditiously and professionally.
