Backstory- Truck has always been meticulously maintained since I purchased it new in 2021…read more Originally it was fully coated and has a bunch of PPF on the front end by New Image- amazing shop, specializing in PPF, but over the last few years, the truck has seen some abuse, and only hand washes until the dealer totally destroyed it while there for an extended visit for some maintenance. In came Phil and his team to save the day- and my sanity. Stopped by the shop and Phil walked up to me and immediately saw what was I was referring to. (See before pic) He and his team totally turned it around and brought it back to when it was at its prime. Inside and out this thing is MINT. The paint is a mirror- the reflections are crazy- and I look forward to having a fresh coating for easy maintenance going forward. Inside the leather is smooth and supple and conditioned, glass is gleaming, and there isn't a speck of dog hair or anything inside. Total reset and spotless. I could not be happier with how it came out!! And Phil kept me updated DAILY with the status of my truck; with videos and progress reports. This was such a cool thing to do. And much appreciated. If you're OCD about your vehicles or just need a GREAT detail Philthy's is the place. Phil is an awesome dude and he and Kody of New Image Detail (under the same roof now!) should be your ONLY considerations for anything detail related. They're the best of the best!! True artists at their trade. Only guys I've trusted with all my vehicles. And would never trust another. Thank you again Philthy's!!

I needed my car detailed to pass inspections at the Dallas VPC and Phil went above and beyond!…read more First, I contacted Phil last minute and he was able to schedule me in 5 hours before my VPC appointment time on a Friday. Second, the website stated: "Steam cleaning of all interior surface areas. All door panels, seats and instruments cleaned. Interior vacuumed & glass cleaned. Hand wash exterior, engine bay, undercarriage, and wheel faces cleaned. Exterior protection applied to all painted surfaces." I had dirt and little rocks everywhere from tracking it in my car (it has been raining a lot in Texas), as well as white pet hair in the back seat, and Phil and his team figuratively gave me a BRAND NEW car. When my car was being inspected at the VPC he said, "I'd never have guessed you owned a dog because this interior detailing is spotless." I was already impressed with Phil's work when he showed me the finished product, and I was even more shocked at Phil's work when I was watching the inspector do his review of all the cracks and crevices. Truly amazing attention to detail and craftsmanship! Overall, I can't thank Phil and his team enough for making my car spotless and for helping me pass inspections at the VPC. Check out their website for different levels of detailing, a monthly service membership, motorcycle detailing, RV detailing, etc.

Tint World - Light gap and poor craftsmanship

I took my Model X in to get the front windshield tinted on 7/31 and paid $688 after tax. I know…read morethat the windshield on these cars is complicated to tint given the size, but the quality of the install on my car was subpar to say the least. Even worse was the customer service I received after pointing out some quality issues. I contacted the shop the next day after seeing that there were some very noticeable light gaps in the tint, as well as some overall shoddy craftsmanship in multiple areas. I had to speak with the shop over the course of 4 different phone calls as the owner, for some reason, was using one of their employees to speak to me as the middleman. After all of this back and forth, they refused to take accountability or offer a reasonable solution to fix their poor work. They offered me 2 "solutions" along with countless excuses as to why the install was up to their standards. Their "solutions" were to: 1) Install a black vinyl stripping to cover the light gaps - essentially putting a bandaid on the issue. 2) Reinstall the tint but the shop wanted to force me to sign a document stating that I would accept the second attempt before even seeing it - giving the shop a free pass to potentially do an even worse job and giving me not choice but to accept the result no matter how good or bad it turned out. A few of their excuses as to why this was a quality install were: 1) The gaskets around the window were too tight and there are going to have to be light gaps. It's "impossible" to get a flush fit with this vehicle. 2) The clarity of the install was great (mind you, I never once brought up any issues regarding this) and they were worried the second job might not be as good. 3) They were worried that debris might get under the film if they tried again. I was willing to give the shop another shot at making things right and reinstalling the tint, but I wasn't willing to be strong armed into signing a document accepting the work before inspecting it again. As the shop did not seem to want to take accountability, I asked them to then remove the film and refund my money as the quality of the job did not reflect the $600+ they charged me. I was then informed that "all sales are final". Horrible job and horrendous customer service. Stay away unless you want to be gaslit into thinking that this type of subpar work is somehow acceptable.

I had several issues stemming from work and the cleaner even found where a certain smell was coming from and cleaned it like it was nothing, while not expecting anything back for doing so. I definitely got him on a tip at the end, but you could tell the courtesy and want to go the extra mile was there from the start. Overall, definitely recommend to anyone in the DFW area, especially as they can drive out to you if necessary!

Latest update: Reached out to the owner regarding money back guarantee as mentioned by him. No…read moreresponse. Completely ghosted my text and phone calls. In response to the business reply: PPF failure and rock chip "touch up" can be seen in new photos. I do agree that touch up isn't perfect, but the BEFORE AND AFTER PICS should let you know about their skills. It can be seen that the damage caused is MORE SIGNIFICANT than the rock chip. The clear coat is burned through and repaint is necessary. Update 1 (April 2024): Chris did my ppf and some issues came up with the edges. There were also debris caught in the ppf during installation. There were also knife marks caused during the cutting of the ppf. This can be seen in the pictures as well. Came up with excuses that the film is a new brand. If one can't score the film and not pierce through it and into the clear coat, shouldn't do ppf at all. Update 2 (June 2024): Redid the ppf but edges are still lifting. Ppf failure again...Asked for rock chip repair and he ended up leaving a blob with the clear coat burned through. Attached would be pictures of the rock chip fix and ppf failure. So sick of dealing with this business. A repaint on the hood would cost lots of money at this point. DO NOT RECOMMEND!! It is better to pay more for quality, especially with automotive care.

Tony and his wife Lisa were who we spoke with and who worked on our Model 3 (2021). Tony himself was the actual installer and to say he went "above and beyond" is an understatement. First off, they were able to get us a great deal for the top-of-the-line XPEL XR Plus tint on all glass surfaces. This meant they did all the windows, the glass roof, even the windshield itself - apparently they are able to put an almost clear layer so it doesn't impact visibility that also still manages to block out a TON of heat. Second, when they first checked over the vehicle, they found a handful of flaws I had not seen (we had just gotten the vehicle only days before deciding we wanted to get tint installed before the summer really kicked off), and showed us before ever getting started to put us at ease with how they were going to handle the vehicle and let us know up front of any issues they found. Third, when Tony got to work, he actually noted that at some point some of the paneling had been hastily re-set into place, and was not correctly re-installed... so he took it upon himself to properly correct the issue, bending fasteners that were not correctly attached into their intended positions... meaning when they gave us the car back, not only was the tint installed perfectly, but the car was technically in even better shape than when we picked it up directly from Tesla's own shop in Dallas since now all the internal panels had been fastened as designed from the factory itself! They even registered the warranty for the XPEL tint so we didn't have to worry about any sort of future coverage should any issues occur with the film itself. In the past, I've gone with other tinters and I've had issues come up years later with peeling, cracking, and tearing, but I have a feeling that this is not going to be happening with Tony's work. I don't think we'll be going anywhere else but Tony's from now on. Now we just need to get a time where we can be without the vehicle for a few more days so we can get PPF + Ceramic coating installed on the body. In summary, if you want your vehicle tint installed professionally by some hard-working honest folks who know their craft really well and care about quality - go see Tony and his wife Lisa.
