On multiple occasions, I've arrived for scheduled appointments and still waited 15 minutes or longer to be seen. This past weekend, I visited again after receiving a gift card for a pedicure. During my appointment, the nail technician repeatedly pressured me to upgrade to a more expensive pedicure, although I chose the $65 option. While receiving the pedicure, I also noticed the floors appeared dirty. During the service, the technician told me I had an ingrown toenail and proceeded to dig into my big toe. Unfortunately, I woke up today with significant swelling, redness, and what appears to be an infection. I am now going to urgent care to receive antibiotics because the pain is severe. I believe this may be related to poor sanitation and cleanliness practices at the salon.

The initial impression:…read more Daniel greeted us once he was completed ringing someone out. He asked what we were getting and then asked whether or not we had called ahead. We noted to him that we called ahead, informed them what we were getting, and was told to come now.Living 15 minutes away, that is what we did. There was a lot of back and forth with the older sister ( maybe Helen?) in which she spoke in Vietnamese stating that we never mentioned the gel manicure which we did. I then waited half an hour to be sat to possibly get my nails done. The older sister was supposed to get my gel manicure done quickly but got loud and rude as she realized that I had gel on and it was not taken off yet. Her demeanor continued as she constantly pushed Daniel around and even her mother. Her mother sat down to get my manicure done which was only right since I had waited for over an hour. She continued to express to her mother that she should have did the acrylic instead and let me wait. Her mother then raised her voice and stated that she keeps saying it but she's still sitting here doing the manicure. Then passed me onto Daniel to finish off. Daniel has a good mentality and attitude but is still learning. Overall, my nails were nice in terms of the manicure sense but lacked top coat strongly which made it come out streaky. Le did my mother in law's nails. He was quick but efficient. He took his time where it mattered most such as massaging and more. He did an amazing job with her nails and was hilarious ! He called his fan an ac as a joke and was social with his customer. Lastly, the older male in glasses. He did my sister in laws nails. He was EXTREMELY nice and efficient. He made sure that there was no room for imperfection! Pricing was ridiculous! I paid over 150 for two pedicures(27 each), acrylic fill with gel polish, a gel manicure (30), and a color change... Overall, the service I received did not win my business.

I'm really disappointed because I wanted to love this place. The first two times I got my nails…read moredone, I loved the designs. However, having them remove my gel x was a nightmare and they've totally ruined my nails. The tech buffed them down way too thin. Despite her commenting on how hot the file was (and me agreeing), she kept going and I trusted she was doing it correctly. The next day they were burning and bruised - they're still breaking and painful 2 months later.

Prices are jacked for no reason. Their prices make no sense-- VERY money hungry…read more I asked for a spa pedicure(basic pedi at around $48) with gel polish (+$10). My big toe was filed to a round shape for some reason (I wasn't asked) and so I asked for an acrylic overlay on JUST my big toes(only two toes) to make them square. Somehow my total came out to $72.32, NOT INCLUDING TIP. I usually don't pay more than $55 anywhere else. I really wanted to like this spot as it was my first time but I've NEVER paid that amount for a basic pedi with gel including an acrylic overlay on the big toes (must I add, I've done this at multiple other locations). This was not worth $73 and I will not be returning. Edit 5/18/24 10:43am: I'd like to add- the business just responded as we all see below and stated I messaged them previously. The only contact I made with them prior to my appointment was a phone call earlier in the day to set up the appointment for the pedi. From there, the only price "breakdown" given, was when they gave me a laminated sheet at the foot bath showing me the different pedicure price options. There was no communication regarding the additional $20 to add the acrylic overlay to 2 toes. The response to my review is also the first time I'm hearing of this $20 charge for the acrylic. Which, might I add, $20 for two toes is absurd. Now in regards to the "elementary" math. That is very degrading for a business to say to a customer who has willingly paid with no fight to avoid a confrontation. Along with the fact this just proves the service you'd be giving your future customers. It is an unfortunate response as these reviews are for the businesses personal use to improve any quality errors wherever those errors are made.while I respect the services and prices varies from place to place, I do not respect a place of business degrading, insulting, lying and not communicating to their customers. As I mentioned before- I do not recommend going here. And I will not be returning. There is no reason to give your money to a business with obvious honesty issues, communication issues and doesn't know how to take constructive criticism as seen in both their actual review and the screenshot provided. Thank you The Nailbar CT for showing your true colors. I've lowered your rating from two stars to one. It's unfortunate I can't give zero. Edit 5/18/24 12:44pm: let me reiterate- I HAVE NEVER contacted them prior to my one and only phone call to schedule my appointment OVER THE PHONE to schedule a 6:15pm appointment on 5/17/2024. As you see in my screenshot of my call to you, which was ONLY 42 seconds, I only asked if they do pedicures, and to schedule for 6pm, you suggested to arrive for 6:15 instead-- I agreed. That's where the call ended. Once again- this business proves my point of being unprofessional. Instead of going back and forth with someone who has willingly paid you and If you guys read and comprehend what this complaint was about, you'd notice this was about the lack of communication, and that the price doesn't match the work after an error was made on your behalf. And while you very much could have me mistaken for a different client, or just falsely accusing me, regardless, as a business owner, you should never speak to someone the way you responded to me.
