I absolutely LOVE The Slipaway. Since its opened, I've added it as a regular place in our rotation…read more We bring all of our out-of-town guests here for the awesome food, great music, and breathtaking views. My favorite Mexican food truck is unfortunately no longer there. I always used to get the Birria burrito from there. Now, I mostly order from Gigi Gourmet and get the Triple Threat burger, which has 3/4lb Wagyu beef, cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese, applewood bacon, grilled onions, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and a sauce. The Pattie's are crispy on the outside since they are smash burgers and so juicy on the inside. The toppings are piled high. This burger is one of my favorite burgers in the whole area. We also like to order from The Lobster Chef truck. The lobster tacos are out of this world! The portion is generous and the price is fair. They are on flour tortillas with cheese, cabbage, guacamole, pineapple salad, cilantro lime crema, and a really generous portion of lobster. They are an absolute must-order. My husband loves the tuna poke bowl. It's a massive portion with sushi rice, carrot, cabbage, cucumber, edamame, seaweed salad, avocado, crispy onion, spicy mayo, and ponzu sauce. He says the tuna tastes very fresh. Can't wait for our next trip to The Slipaway!

Today our search for good barbecue has finally ended. We found Beaus BBQ after reading an article…read moreabout them. Intrigued by the menu and especially blue corn bread. We found them at FtMyers Brewery. We had the special of the day Short Ribs . (Wow!!! Perfectly seasoned, cooked to perfection, topped with Chimichurri. The meat fell off the bone. Sides were Texas style potato salad ( perfectly seasoned with dill..) and baked beans. Tyler found us to see how we liked it. We chatted and shared how the food truck began and how hard he has worked to build his business. He returned again to give us a sample of the brisket burnt ends. Melt in your mouth!! We will keep following Beau's. If you love barbeque and love supporting hard working local business...keep your eyes open for this gem!!

Many, many of our guests said it was the best brisket they had ever had and all the pulled pork was eaten! Tyler was on-time and set up in 30 minutes for a great dinner event. Everyone said it was the best party they had been to in years (thanks to the wonderful BBQ food). Very cool to have the food truck right in the driveway and tables and chairs set up in our 3-car garage for easy access to the food! Tom M.

After having come across their Instagram account some time ago, we've talked about eating at this…read moresemi-permanent food truck often, but just haven't been able to get there. After months of drooling over their posts, we finally made it happen and it did not disappoint. I (JH) have never had Venezuelan food before so I wasn't sure what to get. After the kind gentleman explained the menu items to us, I ended up with a Cachapa with ham. In full disclosure I don't know what a cachapa is "supposed" to taste like so I have no baseline to compare it to, but as far as flavor goes, this was fantastic. The outside reminded me of a thinner, slightly crispier arepa. The sweet corn wasn't too sweet and the butter gave it a great sweet/salty combo. The inside is filled with what's called De Mano cheese...think of it like a mozzarella type cheese. And boy did they fill it! In addition to the cheese I added ham, but I could have gone with smoked pork, steak, more cheese, sausage, etc. AND I could have gotten as many meats as I wanted to, they're just all an up charge...obviously. I (JD) had the UBF Burger and it was fantastic. This monster comes with Lettuce, Tomato, Cheese, Bacon , Egg, Cabbage, Potato Chips, Ketchup, Mayo, Mustard, Pink Sauce, Green Sauce, and a side of delicious fries. When a sandwich has things like "pink sauce" and "green sauce" listed, count me in! The burger was massive. I got the double beef, but you can customize from a single to a quad, as well as pick one of their other meat options (see JH's review for list). The "potato chips" are the delicious little potato sticks and they were a nice addition to the sandwich. Their French fries were amazing. I don't know if they put a really lite breading on them, but they had a delightful little crispness to them. Not listed on the menu is a house made drink described to us as kind of a sweet tea/lemonade, but they use real tea leaves, cane sugar and other ingredients that weren't listed, but tasted differently wonderful. They have 6 covered and lit picnic tables which was good, but being that the truck is located on Bayshore road across from the North Fort Myers Wal-Mart, you do hear quite a bit of traffic, though that didn't seem to interrupt our conversations at all so it's not too intrusive. It wasn't what we would consider cheap as our orders totaled about $24 each, but it's a food truck and we expect to pay a little more. At UBF, we're happy to do so and support them making delicious food. Make sure you check their hours before you go though, they aren't open everyday. But we definitely recommend you go!
