Anubis Cremations

Thank GOD for for Wesleigh at Anubis. She was amazing and so helpful. My sister had Neptune Society…read moreoriginally pick up our auntie's body from the hospice center. After the pickup we were told that a representative would reach out to us the following day so we could start making arrangements. They didn't call till 3 days later even after leaving them multiple messages! Imagine not knowing what's happening to your loved one or where they are located after they died. Our assigned rep only called AFTER I switched to Anubis Cremations and had arrangements for the body to be brought to their facilities. Wesleigh was so easy to work with. She picked up my call right away and took care of everything. She communicated every step of the way. I told her that my uncle who is a priest will be arriving in 2 weeks and we would like for the cremation and memorial service to happen while he was here. She mentioned that it's a very tight schedule but she would try to make it happen. And she 100% delivered!!! Within an hour of my initial call she had my auntie's body arranged for pickup, she sent paperwork to us and the doctor so she could start the process of filing the death certificate. The church where we wanted the memorial service wouldn't let us reserve a time till they had a cremation date. We were able to get the cremation date within a few days. We opted for a private open viewing at the crematory in Van Nuys. The crematory only does night time viewing which worked well for us since our family is busy working during the day. Wesleigh's coworker Jonathan took great care of us at the viewing. The place had a room for up to 15 people where family members could sit with the casket prior to the cremation. They dressed our auntie in her formal barong and jewelry. We were allowed to provide flowers, letters, and mementoes in the cardboard casket. Jonathan gave us sharpies so we could write notes on the casket. There were aslo tissues and an easel for our use. Although the viewing was technically 15 minutes, we were not rushed and were given about 20-25 minutes to do a prayer service and say our goodbyes. And then Jonathan and another employee wheeled her into the crematory. We watched them place her casket in the "oven" and once the door closed we left. They even allowed us to live stream the entire time we were there to our auntie's relatives back in the Philippines. The following day Wesleigh delivered the ashes to the church and she provided the letters and instructions we needed to bring the ashes back to the Philippines. We were also very happy with the urn we ordered from Anubis. It was engraved and had a photo of our auntie. It was perfect. I can't thank Wesleigh and Jonathan enough for providing an outstanding service that was stress-free, efficient, compassionate, and super professional during this difficult time of grief. I whole-heartedly recommend Annubis.

Not only did they make everything quick and easy, but were beyond patient, thoughtful, helpful, and caring with each interaction. My 38 year old son passed away from brain cancer in August of this year. After researching and…read morespeaking with 6 different funeral homes in the Santa Clarita vicinity I determined to use North Valley Cremation & Funeral Services for his cremation. Their beautiful and exceptional website provided resources for every aspect of handling the death of my son. There were memories and photos that could be posted and links to upload via social media, text and/or email. The website provided a much broader selection of flowers at half the price of a typical florist. There were also trees that could be planted in memory of. There were resources for URNS and a section dedicated to helping me close down accounts (e.g. bank, amazon, Hulu, etc.). There was a section for providing friends and family with all the details of the services. We opted for a custom URN to honor my son's interest in our Danish heritage, and they handled every bit of helping us to secure just what we wanted and much more. I secured small URN type necklaces for myself and his girlfriend which they handled filling with my some of my sons ashes and even secured better more sturdy chains for them. They provide 5 original death certificates and made elaborate efforts to work with the backed up LA County office to get them to me. They provided us with a very professional slideshow of the photos we submitted along with music tracks with the Pastor at the church saying it was one of the most outstanding presentations he'd seen. Their website helps prepare an obituary. The personal care they took with my son and with our needs was really quite astounding. They personally hand delivered the URNS directly to my home along with other items they thought may be helpful with the service. Losing someone you love is extremely emotional and difficult and to have such a caring experience with this funeral home helped me to not feel so alone in all the details that can be overwhelming. The church we held the service at were so impressed that when others need guidance on choosing a funeral home they indicated they would definitely be suggesting North Valley Cremation and Funeral Services.

So sad to not support The Makery any longer. I was a very early adopter of the original shop, going…read morewith friends as well as regularly getting Take and Make kits. When the subscription club started, I was in the initial round, paying over $100 every couple of months for a long time for blind projects. Veteran family, woman, POC owned company - and cute fun. I taught friends to love them and brought several new subscribers to the business over the years. But the customer service has left me in complete (negative!!) disbelief! Unfortunately, Jolie and The Makery have lost my support. There were some super bowl Facebook "games" in February of 2022. I engaged with the posts for fun, expecting nothing. Then was notified I had won a free sign and to contact them for shipping. I did. As you can read for yourself, for over 6 months I've been told different stories while nothing has ever shipped. It's shocking because the website is full of items for sale that match the give away. Jolie and team simply needed to send something surplus they never sold and be done with it (it was a random design after all). It's become principle. Companies ask you to engage to grow their social media presence. The giveaways need to be followed through with. Especially for a long standing customer. Honestly, even letting me know the timeline or that they couldn't afford to send something would have been enough. Acting annoyed I asked didn't sit well with me - With a little communication, I would have said no worries, I didn't need anything! I have entire boxes in my garage of her projects not started as I supported for so long but never had time to do most of them. About 5-6 months after the back and forth there were items posted for sale. I simply asked if any of those were available for the giveaway never sent. My comments were deleted, I was blocked, and my messages and since been rejected. I was treated as an aggressive troll, not a customer that had been respectful and spent quite a bit of money. Simply put, The Makery uses customers to increase their social media engagement and sales, yet doesn't follow through. Support has been lost - from me. Don't fall for the "we love our customers so much". They don't. You could be taken advantage of too! Lots of similar kits from small businesses out there from great, small businesses - some even cheaper! Shop elsewhere!
