I've been refreshing my style and wanted to pick up a few magazines for inspiration. I…read moreintentionally chose to step away from digital, so visiting Barnes & Noble felt especially refreshing--there's something about being in a physical bookstore that just hits different, especially now that so many have closed. This location is in the Peach shopping center and is conveniently connected to a Starbucks. The magazine section is impressive--huge selection covering just about every interest and hobby you can think of--and the store is laid out just how you'd expect from Barnes & Noble: clean, organized, and easy to browse. I ended up signing up for their rewards program and already have six stamps. On my next purchase, I'll get $5 off, which is a nice bonus.

Ah, heaven. There's…read moresomething so peaceful, so soothing about a bookstore and a library. (Especially the library because it's free okay?) Barnes & Noble has been a staple in my world for so many years, it's always great to see them up and in action and books finding their way into new homes. After a date night out, my partner decided we go to Barnes & Noble to grab some books for our son. What a perfect way to end a date night, imo! This B&N is located in a huge plaza in Buckhead, meaning that there's tons of parking available. There is a Starbucks attached to this location, it's small but there seemed to be some seating. This location is one of the smaller B&Ns that I've seen but they made great use of the space. We started in the children's section of course and they made it such a cute space for little ones! They had a little stage setup along with a bench for seating and extra space for the babes beyond that. The shelves were lined with books of all kind, and even housed some cute stuffed characters from the pages of those exact books. I loved it! There was a wide array of books for children of all ages and a variety of topics. I loved that there was a special section highlighting Black history and culture, as well as a section with books all centered around Georgia! I grabbed a book from each section for our little ATL baby. The bookstore was so clean and so organized, I didn't see a thing out of place. I just wish there was more seating!! I guess they don't want folks getting comfy and reading all the merchandise before they walk out lol. We did find seats near the 'gifts' section which allowed us to go through what we picked up to see what we'd leave with. We ended up with 4 children's books, 1 new book for me and a learning toy for $100. Not too crazy!

Oxford Comic and Games is one of those places that serves as a model for other comic and game…read morestores. Unlike others in its genre, it actually focuses on comics over games. Which isn't to say they don't carry games. They carry plenty. But they don't do pre-release tourneys or have a huge amount of gaming accessories or board games. But they DO have a slew of comics that they sell at very reasonable prices. They don't seem to price by gouging their customers. They price evenly and it shows. And I love their 1 issue per person limit to make sure everyone has a chance. INVENTORY: As I wrote, comics really is the focus here. They have children's comics, manga, graphic novels, but the heart of this place is the comic book. They have a wide array of past issues which so few comic stores have. They do have a good selection of Pokemon and Star Wars Unlimited with a pretty decent selection of Magic the Gathering and all at very reasonable prices. I didn't notice a lot of Riftbound or One Piece, but their comic selection is fantastic. SERVICE: Super friendly and nice. More than willing to be helpful. Selection of books is easy to see and find. Everything is well organized. COST: Prices here are better than most places and very reasonable. Would completely recommend if you're looking for a few good books.

--Location/Parking-- Located in Buckhead. It is a 5 minutes…read morefrom the 400. There is plenty of parking in the rear and two spots out front. I never had an issue in finding parking. --Ambience-- Comic book heaven. They have such a well stocked and organized selection of comics. Back issues and cards and supplies are near or behind the front counter. --Service/Staff-- Knowledgable staff that love comics and it shows in the respect for the material and how they help customers on their shopping experience. --Products-- Comic book heaven. So many different genres to manage and different art books to modern age. --Capacity-- Inside can hold 20-30 people. You can see this many people during a Black Friday. --Overall-- If you are a big comic book fan this is your stop in Atlanta.
