My experience with Gateway Motors was terrible. I was sent here by another dealership, Auto Spot, after the Check Engine light came on in my Ford Escape a week after I bought it. The mechanic simply deleted the code from the dashboard. When the light came back on the following week, I was sent back to Gateway Motors. During this second visit, I asked for a receipt and details of the work he had done, but the mechanic refused, saying he had negotiated the job directly with the owner of Auto Spot and that I was not his customer. Because the car is not in continuous use, a year passed before the light came on again. When I took the car to my trusted mechanic, I discovered the truth: the problem had always been a damaged catalytic converter. It turned out the mechanic at Gateway Motors not only hid the issue but also installed a deceptive "oxygen sensor trick" to prevent the error code from showing, which was a temporary fix. I feel completely scammed by their dishonest and unethical practices. Instead of repairing a defective part, they misled me with a temporary fix so the problem wouldn't surface until I could no longer claim it. Their lack of honesty is alarming and cost me more than $2,000. I do not recommend Gateway Motors. read more

Do NOT purchase ANYTHING from this dealership. Within just three months of the purchase of our vehicle, we have had to spend OVER $3,000 in repairs. Absolute biggest waste of our time and money. With all the major things that went wrong you cannot tell me that they were "missed" in the initial inspection they claim to have preformed. I was reassured that the car was great, they convinced me it was the deal of the lifetime. Not true, none of it was true. All I got was a seized engine, dead battery, bad belts on the replacement engine, struts are terrible and need to be replaced, etc. I feel taken advantage of and beyond disappointed. Purchased a 2003 Infinity G35 from Gateway Auto in April, 2015 with 106Kmiles. It was a one owner vehicle and appeared to be mechanically sound. The former owner traded it at 98K miles. It came with all the service paperwork which showed the vehicle as being regularly serviced (at all Manufacturer required intervals and whenever necessary - by Infiniti). The vehicle needed some bumper/body work which Gateway Auto offered to "paint", however it was clear that more than painting was needed. My Husband & I opted to have the bumpers repaired on our own. Unfortunately we did not take it to the Infiniti dealer to be looked at before we purchased it. We took it to Infiniti 3 days "after" purchasing. Turns out the radiator mounting was broken - hanging on by a few screws - needed to be replaced, $2500. This was identified simply by looking underneath the vehicle. We contacted our Salesman at Gateway Auto and was told, "Why did you take it to the dealer, they will always find something. Bring it back and let us look". We decided not to as we felt they should have noticed that if they truly had looked the vehicle over and we didn't trust it. We ended up having the bumpers replaced, radiator and radiator mounting repaired by a reputable body shop - $3900. On September 3rd, the gear shift locked up and both the radio and cooling system shut down. We had the vehicle towed to Infiniti. BOTTOM LINE: After several attempts to repair the vehicle (which Infiniti did not charge us for), it was found that someone had cut and attempted to resoder some wiring in the electrical system, cost to repair?: $6,000. Very disappointing!!!! We feel totally ripped off! Already out of $11,000 (not including the $6,000) for the cost of the vehicle and the radiator/bumper repairs for a vehicle that was only used for 6 months and is only now worth $4500 (if running and in good condition). We can only wonder how a vehicle that was perfectly maintained by the original owner (whom we also spoke with and as shown by the supporting paperwork) could have sustained so much damage between the time it was traded at 98K miles and we purchased it at 106K miles (8K miles). This is only a small portion of what we have experienced with this vehicle over the last 6 months. We looking at our options for potentially recouping some of our lost monies. But, no more vehicle purchases for us from Gateway Motors in Cudahy, WI as we are not sure of their vehicle source(s). read more

so I thought I found a perfect car for 4,500 with 60k miles on it. I called it in to ask if it was still available and if the internet price was still correct. Salesman Moe said yest to the above and concluded the price is just for the weekend, two days before deadline. less then 9 hours later upon rechecking on the website to make sure the car was still there, the car price was raised back up to its original 5k pricing. pretty sketchy salesman technique if ya ask me. thank god I check before going to check it out before the "special weekend sale" was up. read more
