We wouldn't recommend Scuttlebugs. We were at Tiny Minders North and loved it. The transition to…read moreScuttlebugs, who bought it when the original owner retired, was rough. The chef is wonderful and so are the hours, but after all of our favorite caregivers left, we started looking for other options. The turnover was so high, it felt like staff came and went every few weeks. The old guard associated with Tiny Minders all departed over time; new folks coming in also left after short stints. Rooms were not staffed with enough teachers. New staff didn't know my kiddo or introduce themselves to me. I felt I was leaving her with strangers. I'm relieved we left when we did--I've since heard concerning stories. For reference our daughter is 3. I hope they can turn this ship around because I know we all desperately need safe, quality childcare.

The school recruited an amazing preschool teacher who brings solid, professional teaching and a great energy to the room. The addition of the onsite chef has been fantastic both because we no longer have to pack lunches, and the meals are full of quality and variety. Overall, a solid choice for a Boulder daycare that caters to the typical working parent.

I can't say enough good things about this school. My daughter has been there almost a year and…read moreloves it. She asks to go in the morning, doesn't want to leave at night and is thriving. The owner and director know all of the kids by name and are so approachable! The teachers are warm and caring and the kids do all sorts of special activities. As an added bonus, my lo has a unique food allergy condition and they keep her safe and happy. They were well educated on the topic and had protocols in place to manage it. It's been a great experience working with them.

The Goodard School of Longmont is the best daycare in the area. I have been to two others before…read moresettling my kids here. The program for both young and kindergarten kids is fun and challenging. My kids are extremely happy about going to school and always have so much to talk about when I pick them up. The teachers are all certified and they are all professional. It is easy to communicate with them as well. The owner and director are superb and treat every kid as their own. The other thing I love is that the older kids have "friday friends" with the younger children. My daughter knows pretty much every kid in the school through this activity, and she loves being a role model to the younger kids. What a fantastic life lesson for her! I would recommend this school to anyone looking for a daycare you can really trust and feel at home with, you can not find a better place in the area.

I've continued working specifically so I could send my kiddo to TLC's nursery. Debbie and Justine…read moreare incredible working with infants, and I replicate many of the things I see them do with my 7 month old in the nursery at home (who knew baby food bottle caps would be her favorite highchair toy??). Ellie is crawling ahead of schedule, enjoying a variety of solid foods I never would have thought to start her on, and is comfortable with other people because of her time with TLC. She also loves listening to Teedee play guitar every Thursday.

I think that the teachers are great and the school is very clean. However, the way the school…read morestructures its care is incredibly inaccessible. They don't want the children to spend more than 9 hours per day there so they don't permit any longer than that. Many parents work full time, take lunch, need to commute with traffic, etc. The simple math done on this makes it easy to realize that having a 9 hour limit to daycare is a huge barrier to convenient daycare choices for kids. I find their expectations of the families to be severely demanding and frankly, unreasonable. Their policies and protocols come from a very privileged standpoint and I wish they had more aim to serve the community, rather than their admirable, yet utopian ideals. I am very frustrated by their treatment and could not go forward with using them as a daycare center due to this. Additionally, I was treated very harshly by the educational services manager on several occasions and could no longer tolerate her speaking to me in that rude/condescending manner. Some advice for TLC: If you want to become a truly sensational daycare center, provide longer hours for families that need to work and do some hospitality training for your educational services manager. My experience with your center has left a grossly sour taste in my mouth and I am afraid I will not be able to recommend you to anybody.
