As far as the food/shopping goes: you never know what you're going to get. As seasons change so does the food, but they always have the staples; bread, milk, pasta. Typically Lots of plant based options. You are required to volunteer every month Financially they really help you out! You're required to meet with a financial advisor and talk about your current situation and where you'd like to be and how you can get there. You're also required to take a financial course (I think it's 2 hours long for 6 sessions?) that literally goes through everything: savings, debt, how to's, traps, emergency funds, etc. it gives you a lot to think about and if you're starting from no where, it helps get you on the right track. Love the people who work here and how they really take an interest in each person and appreciate Birch for the help they provide (as well as all the Corps. That donate)

They refused to retrieve the items NOT designated junk and sent to the donation center. No clue why this was not possible because good communication skills were not in attendance in any way, shape or form. That includes management. I counted on these people to do for me what I can no longer do for myself and they failed miserably. They lost my Christmas collection. It took me more than 50 years to collect...they took it to the dump. A priceless oriental table went to the dump. An antique wooden, newly painted, porch slider...it went to the dump, too. I am still assessing the losses but nothing will make me feel better. I know it's only stuff to some, but is was my stuff, I spent a lifetime collecting it and it was up to me to dispose of, not some mover with the IQ of a tree stump. Finally, the only thing offered as compensation was some used furniture they had hanging around to replace what was lost. In other words, I can sit on a tack and spin or hold my breath 'til I turn blue. There is no compensation for the loss and no refund amount of any kind on the absolutely ridiculous amount I had to pay. Not even the tip.

Plaque was supposed to be done a week earlier on a Friday. They called to tell me it would be running late but ready by Monday. OK, no problem. I go back a week later, walk in, and there is my plaque sitting on a chair in the middle of all of these piles. The name plates were not attached yet. OK, so guy screws name plates in and hands me the plaque. No wipe down, no box, packaging, or anything. I go to pay for it and the guy can't find my receipt to pay, no shit... He is literally looking through all of the piles in the pictures, under boxes, under papers, and after 10 minutes I just say, 'Can I just pay you cash for this and you look for the paper on your own time?' So, I pay and I'm outta there! This all happens while another customer is waiting behind me. That guy should have ran out after watching this episode.
