I moved into an apartment that requires us to coordinate the purchase of our own cooking propane. When I called, the dispatcher told me they needed to inspect the tank and would call me ahead of time to let me know when the technician was arriving. The technician showed up and removed the tank without even informing me, and the dispatcher called me after the fact to let me know that they no longer serviced cooking propane tanks and that I would need to find another vendor. In the meantime my stove is not usable. Extremely disappointing. I will curse Fairclough Propane with every bite of my cold sandwiches for the next 2 weeks.

I call on Wednesday, the parts he needs hasn't come in. I asked, when will it be in ? Not sure he says. I said if you have no idea then i'm picking up the trailer. An hour later he calls and says it's in, but no confidence it will seal tank and that I have incurred an invoice already. So i ask how much for a new tank ? He says he has no clue. I go to get my RV and the brand new battery I just put in 10 days ago is dead. Here i sit in front of his window while he looks outside at me in a 3" rain storm awaiting my daughter for a jump start so i can use the jack on the RV ago hitch up and go. DONT USE THIS GUYS BUSINESS. He's a grouch and a jerk. Be warned.

To summarize, these guys led me to believe I was buying a rebuilt Jasper transmission with a great 3 year/100,000 mile warranty, but actually sold me a rebuilt Powertrain Solutions transmission with a very limited 3 year/100,000 mile warranty. So limited that the transmission has actually since broken down and I have only JUST received the meager $350 maximum labor reimbursement the warranty offers, 4 months after my claim was approved. Don't even get me started on the separate nightmare that dealing with Powertrain Solutions was. The repair job itself was also sloppy. They used makeshift rigs rather than the correctly sized starter bolts and neglected to tell me about a damaged sway bar that needed to be replaced. I even needed to bring the car back to the shop the day after I picked it up for a check-engine light that came on before I even made it home from the shop. In addition, the initial repair was extremely slow, taking over three weeks, during which the customer service was awful and unapologetic. Unreturned calls, sour attitudes, and zero apologies for delays. Even before I uncovered that I had been misled about the Jasper transmission, I was so uncomfortable with my experience here that I took the car somewhere else when the rebuilt transmission broke down just 3.5 months later. I would never trust this shop with a vehicle ever again. You can give these guys the benefit of the doubt if you like, and chalk this up as an unintentional communication error rather than malicious deception. But even then, they still failed to inform me of the extremely limited nature of the warranty on the Powertrain Solutions transmission they did sell me. I contacted them twice about my complaints, and both times they neglected to respond. Now I'm making sure everyone knows what they're getting into with this shop.

After evaluating my Ford I was told that there was a Technical Bulletin that came out from Ford several years ago. I am impressed that they did the research to evaluate my car. They told me I did NOT NEED A TRANSMISSION. I only needed an update on the vehicle computer. Here's the numbers. Ford wanted $3500 for a rebuilt transmission. A new transmission was $6000. Final cost at Scotty's $150 to evaluate $250 to upload the new software Total $400.00 Can't say enough good things about this place. Talk about trusting a Mecanic!!! Due to preexisting damage to my rim, they didn't think the tire would seal properly so I could make my 70 mile trip back home. They put my spare on and told me "no charge" for their services. Friendly mechanics, friendly staff, and an all around great experience.
