Just thinking about all the decisions we needed to make was overwhelming. Several years ago, Carol had made beautiful drapes for our Alma home. She had also decorated a downtown business in Alma that I happened to be visiting and I saw her there. It was so beautiful, and I knew she would be able to help with our cottage. Carol has a vast understanding of not just interior design, but she has the knowledge to advise and answer questions that included working with contractors, electricians, millwork, tilework, furniture, kitchen design.... she is a wealth of information. At one of our meetings, Carol, and her assistant Taylor, used computer software to help us visualize our space. We were able to decide on paint colors, furniture layout and much more. In the beginning, we thought we would just need Carol and her team for a few hours. But, due to the comprehensive project, we needed her expertise all the way to the very end.     Did exterior paint on our home siding, didnt Plastic off windows, told me they didn't need to, we…read morehad to razor blade paint off all our windows. Also destroyed 2 of screens with overspray of paint. Painted over two small bee nests instead of removing them. on 4 occasions said they were coming to finish job and didn't show up or bother to let us know they weren't coming. They did one heavy coat that had runs and where they wiped at runs paint has different texture. Painted 3 exterior doors without first prepping them and paint not adhering well. Would not recommend for exterior siding jobs.

After giving half of the money down in March he didn't start my exterior paint until July (he texted me the end of April stating he would start 1st week of May) this went on until the 1st week of July. The team of two that came to paint the house in July did not do a professional job. Covering windows and doors partially with a thin plastic, (stated they ran out of the paper they normally use) Used an extension ladder for second story spraying by climbing up and down every few feet left my siding with heavy and light areas as well as areas missed. My screens were torn from the power washing. The exterior paint was sprayed on my windows, plants, door trims and Trex porch. Only one coat was applied when I was told it would be two. The paint is sploshy and not covering the old color in areas. Many areas were missed and paint pulled away when tape was removed. Nick expects full payment on the last day the guys are finishing the work, before completion! You are supposed to have 48 hours to make any complaints that need attention. When I did reach out immediately, I was not well received with the owner Nick, who took 2 days to get back with me, then stated he has never had a complaint and that the crew always gets compliments. Sorry if I am being honest and perhaps others don't want to complain, but when you pay thousands of dollars for a service you expect respect and the quality it should be. His defense of his employees over believing what the homeowner was telling him was a true sign of his lack of character and concern about his quality of work. He refused to come out to look at the mistakes for himself, stating he was too busy, and he has too many jobs booked already, implying that no one else has ever complained and he isn't concerned now that he has been paid in full. He told me he would send the two guys back out to fix the paint but so far, I have had to reach out again to ask when that might occur. It has been over two weeks now. No sign of this being rectified thus far. Meanwhile my extra expense to replace screens and my time to scrape paint off windows was not the experience I would wish for anyone else. The quality and customer service are not there during or after the job has been completed.

    Story of the furnace: It was blowing cold air. We would have to turn it off for 30 seconds, then…read moreturn it back on. It would then blow warm air until it hit the right temp. Once it turned off and got cold again. It would then kick on with cold air. So we would repeat the process. We called Answer H & C who said they could come out immediately and look at it. Which I was grateful and the reason for an extra star. Once they started looking at the furnace, within minutes said it was because of our smart thermostat and the power adapter. They said we needed a new one. Which not knowing much about furnaces I took their professional opinion on it. I contacted the smart thermostat company and they said with the problem we were having is not due to their product. They wanted us to get something in writing from the heating and cooling company. Which we did not get in the first place. So I decided to contact a different company to see if they would tell me the same thing. Once again within second of taking off the panel, they saw some O ring that shouldn't be laying there in plain sight, and said we have a bigger problem. After taking 30-45 minutes inspecting the furnace they found we had a huge crack in our heat intake I believe they said it was. Which could cause carbon monoxide poising. By the state of Michigan they had to shut our heat off. Which this was the coldest week we have had so far. They showed me on the camera where the crack was and actually ended up finding two. We ended up going with that company for a new furnace since they were able to bump us up ahead of schedule within a couple days. Long story short, it seems like the Answer gentleman that came out did not want to work to hard and he realistically could have caused us more harm not fully inspecting the furnace. I was upset we paid $150 for him to come out and put the blame on the smart thermostat within 5 minutes of being there. Only reason I gave an extra star was the time frame they came out. If he would have inspected it and found the same crack I am sure we would have immediately went with them for our new furnace. Now I will look else where whenever needing any other service done.
