believe me. i work with dr's all day, every day. most of ours are not very likeable, are rude, and spend literally less than a few minutes with their patients.
I picked Dr. Keifer on a blind guess from a magazine listing him as one of the top doc's for sports medicine and family practice. i guess i got lucky again (re: my dentist's review).
his office is unassuming, pretty standard doctor fare. his desk staff are always friendly and get me in within a day or two. luckily, i've never needed an immediate attention appt, so when that happens, we'll see how they are.
what impressed me most about Dr. Keifer is that he sits and talks with me. it's normally very professional stuff, but all the same, i appreciate it. he doesn't rush me, goes into very extensive explanations about nearly everything i ask him about, and then asks, without standing up, "do you have any more issues, questions, etc". i'm nearly speechless everytime.
when i broke my arm years ago, the doc who saw me attempted to leave our appt in about 30 seconds. since i work in the healthcare system, i would have none of that. i made him stay in the room with me for another solid 10 minutes with ridiculous questions just because as a patient, it's not right to be charged 300 bucks for 30 seconds.
anyway, Dr. Keifer is great doctor and has so far, been more than willing to take a closer look at that annoying case of poison ivy i couldn't get rid of and freeze some (gross) warts off my arm (it was only a couple and they weren't that big....geez, i'm not that disgusting). highly recommended as a PCP. read more
