We were involved in a collision with a concrete company truck--t-boned in our truck after the concrete truck ran the red light. We were extremely shaken up after; our truck was knocked onto the passenger side, there was glass everywhere, people surrounded us--it was a very chaotic scene. I assume the police called this company--we certainly didn't. All of this is to say: any tow company that shows up to a scene like that, that quickly, and has you initial paperwork less than an hour after you've nearly lost your life--paperwork that apparently tells you how much they're charging you for towing and storing your completely useless vehicle--well, that company doesn't have your best interests at heart. Capitalism at its finest. HOWEVER, the guy who picked up and dropped off our truck today, Michael, was incredibly kind. Asked me how we were doing, and sympathized when I told him we were likely going to struggle to get the concrete company to do the right thing. Some people are still human, even in a world that rarely values humanity for humanity's (and not profits') sake. read more

0 stars, was called by the police to impound my found stolen motorbike while I was out of town for a few weeks, came to pick it up and was CHARGED A THOUSAND DOLLARS to pick up something that was stolen from me! I paid 1000 to buy the damn bike in the first place! They showed me the bike to see if I wanted to take it back and they left it rotting in the elements to where it would not start anymore! I just decided to let them keep it when I was told I WOULD HAVE TO PAY 500 DOLLARS just to let them keep it because of storage fees or some crap, in a lot that was more than half barren, or else I would not be able to register any other vehicles under my name! The staff was extremely unsympathetic and calling this a place run by vultures would be an understatement read more

Gary’s Towing & Salvage Pool - Towing Near Me - Tucson, Arizona

Worst Company ! Do not use them. They take advantage of people . My son was in his first accident and TPD contacted them to move the car no choice given to my kid. I tried to ask the driver nicely just to move the car out of the road and we would have AAA tow it since we have free towing with them. He was rude and said he would still have to charge my son $85 . For what? To move it maybe 5 feet . Then They towed it to my home because they were already charging us , only to find out they charged almost $6 a mile. So almost $200 later that my son who works part time doesn't have I was upset. I tried to speak with someone in person and got absolutely nowhere. They take advantage of people and overcharge just to make money and I will never recommend them. Avoid having them tow your vehicles at all cost. They have no empathy or compassion for anyone. read more

if I could give 0 stars I would. so there's 1 star. my husband and I came to get our belongings out of our truck after a head on collision. the driver who took us to get our belongings was completely the rudest person I'd ever met. he was a short Hispanic male who needs an attitude check. when he told us to sign a paper with the incorrect info my husband politely told him it was the wrong info. after telling him he grabbed the clipboard from my husband and ripped the paper and said " I need to get out of this eat come on let's go" and I told him that we are in the heat as well and he needs to watch how he talks to people while he's at work. there was no reason for his attitude when he chose to do this as a job" his voice started becoming very loud and I asked to speak with the manager. he said there's no reason to escalate this. once we WALKED back to the office the useless person of a manager started speaking and saying he is just trying to do his job without letting us give any explanation. I informed her that he had no reason to be so rude and that we were all suffering in this heat. she never apologized for his actions or neither did the employee. she continued to defend him and said " well you guys got your things didn't you" and refused to acknowledge the principle of the situation. Predatory business. Got sideswiped onto a median in the middle of the road and the police "called the tow truck" and this guy shows up 15 mins later. Goes on about how he's tired it's been a long day and it'd be easier to tow to their lot. I was in distress as most people are in an accident. what was i supposed to say? no leave my car in the road while i wait an hour for triple a? racked up an insane lot fee over one weekend. Tried to get my possessions and was treated like absolute s*** by the employees on the phone and in person. Beyond horrible. These people are not seeing heaven read more

This place is the worst place in Tucson, AZ to get your car towed to. They're disrespectful, unhelpful and money hungry goblins. They don't know what they're doing half the time and make up crazy excuses on why you can't get your car. No wonder they have such a low review, NEVER COMING HERE AGAIN! total rip off, got into a crazy accident involving an RV that ran a red light and they were the company called by the police i guess. they made it seem like if we went through ANY other towing company it was gonna cost us but since they were there, they said there's was free. i was in shock after possibly losing my life and the bill literally racked up to 4000 dollars within 3 days of being at there place. there was also cash missing from my glove box after i finally was able to get my car. they are just a misleading company and predators for people at the crash sight. i still have no idea why he told me it would be free. when we brought the money up to the manager and the fact it was apparently free, nothing happened. we were told we would get a call back and didn't. DO NOT GO HERE. if i could leave zero stars i would read more

These people are horrible. They just prey on people who are in accidents. They told my younger niece who was in an accident that they would tow her car to their junk yard for free if they could keep it. She agreed. 15 days later they said she owed them almost $400. I called them to explain, nothing was ever in writing or communicated to my niece. The front staff was rude, talked over me and then just hung up on me. They are terrible! read more

They have horrible pricing. they charged me $700 to tow my vehicle after an accident and then store it for 13 days. Then they charged me a 3% fee to pay with a credit card. Well for starters, when the company was towing my vehicle the blonde lady who was driving the tow truck got my car on reversed and when she lifted the back of my car onto the truck, my entire bumper scrapped against the pavement and completely came off. When i went to see if my car was in good condition to get out of there it was completely totaled. There was monster energy drink cans and trash from candy all in my back seat. When i told the guy if i could get the name of the blonde haired lady, he said i need to ask front desk and that 2,000 dollars is "chump change" that fixing my car isn't that bad *it wasn't even totaled when towed* :/ when i asked front for the ladies name and the reasoning, he said he cannot give that information. That i will not be able to know the name of the person who towed me vehicle. Very unprofessional setting. This is an emotional decision making company. read more

My RV was towed by Tucson Police (that's a different story) and I wanted to retrieve the property I had in the RV, which wasn't an insignificant amount of stuff, so I went down to Gary's Towing to do so. I first had to find the title and that took a couple trips but I finally did and then proceeded to start removing my property when out of the blue, the office manager Pam told her employee that we only got 20 minutes and we were cut off. She claimed it was their policy and that it was because they had other customers to help. Well, there wasn't on this day or any other days any customers waiting in the front office. The office manager also claimed that the front office staff and the office manager herself had told me that there was a 20 minute time limit each time I went out there and I challenged her saying that I had never been told that and she especially had never told me that nor had she ever even spoken to me. She again claimed she had and I challenged her to tell me what I look like if she had in fact spoken to me before. She didn't and couldn't and changed the subject but was completely unapologetic for lying to my face and continued doing so on other occasions. She also insisted upon continuing to lie and actuality saw fit to mock me today and said, "Pretty soon I'm gonna have the title to that thing in my hand and then you're cut off!" If I didn't know better, I would assume she was trying to steal my property or at least arrange things so she can get her hands on as much of it as she can when she can. Gary's has a reputation for stealing things out of people's vehicles I guess. Thankfully, my RV looked pretty beat up and therefore they must have assumed there wasn't anything worth anything in it so it hadn't been touched yet I first got back inside. But since then, her staff has seen the kinds of things I've been pulling out of there and with Christmas coming up, I wouldn't be surprised to find out that Pam decided that I was going to be her Santa Claus this year. Time to retire, Pam. read more

The most predatory service I have ever seen in my life. I was involved in a self defense shooting, all cleared by TPD, and was shot in the leg. I could not walk, and could barely make it from my chair to the bathroom. Yet they still required me to come down to sign paperwork for my vehicle. The kicker was, they didn't check any ID or anything, only reason they found out was my father didn't know my pin. Then they asked him for ID and came out for me to sign. They do nothing but tow to pray on people who are law abiding and stuck in a bad situation. Esp when my car was legally parked, and I also had my own roadside assistance that would have towed for free. FUCK GARYS. read more

I bought a car from their auction. They had videos of it running and driving when in reality it did not drive or run when I got to it. Upon further diagnosis it appears there is absolutely no way they got the car like that, they must have messed with it because it had PVC pipe installed in place of the oem hoses and would not drive for longer than 30 seconds without overheating. It had a blown water pump and Every coolant hose in that car had a leak. It was legitimately undrivable the radiator was empty. they stole the spare tire and jack, and the owners manual before I picked it up. read more

I work at the hospital and I was at the hospital trying to call them and the nurses saw she was hanging up on me all the time just for my accent. I got to the location and she was even more rude. I defended myself respectfully but letting her know I was upset. Then she told me go away that she won't let me go to get my belongings from my car. If I could give less than one star I would. The lady behind the glass is rude and very unprofessional. When we got the car back it had obviously been searched completely everything was tossed stuff from the trunk was now in the backseat. The lady behind the glass didn't seem to care until she found out we had the funds to get the car back. The fees they charge are outrageous and they are not willing to work with you whatsoever. These people are complete thieves!!! They stole anything and everything that was worth anything of money in the car. $1,500 stereo system gone, iphone gone, tool set gone, wallet that was in the car wiped clean, and plenty of other things. Title and registration were in the car and they took it out so I wasn't even able to get the car. This company is straight scam artist. I asked to talk to manager and tried to tell me how I see the car is how they got it. Which makes no sense because they picked the car up right after the minor wreck it was in. I was literally shocked because the car look like it went through a tornado. I mean they even took the tire off the damn spare tire!! Worst business I have ever seen operate. They are literally stealing from people in broad day light and getting away with it. CROOKS!!!!! P.S. If your car is in this shit hole of a place do anything in your power to get it out as soon as possible, otherwise the car will be wiped clean of anything of value. read more

These people are crooks! My daughter was in a car accident night before last. We had the vehicle moved less than 24 hours later from Gary's to our insurance lot. Gary's had gone through her car, moved almost everything into the trunk, removed all her things from the glove box into file folders, rearranged all her personal affects, emptied her console box, took the money and perfumes and whatever they wanted for themselves! Unbelievable! I am shocked this company can get away with blatantly stealing from patrons and worse is the police called this company out. We will be filing a report with the police and the BBB. If I could give negative Stars I would. First off this company is the on call company for TPD. So accident where the diver is hospitalized - this clown comes and gets it. That happened to my mother-in-law who was hit head on by a red light runner and broke her neck. She's 87......... Think about the trauma the family is going through with that alone. Father-in-Law is in a wheel chair and was ay home when this happened. while wife was in the hospital with her mother I verified that the car was at Gary's. asked about the docs needed to get the GROCERIES out of the car for fixed income old folks since mother-in-law was coming home from shopping when this happened. go there with 86 year old father in law in tow, because he HAD to be present to prove ownership with his ID and the docs that were in the car. Turns out the cops took the "current" registration and insurance so it was not in the car but the printout form Service AZ was for the most recent plate sticker. The mountain of old expired ones since 2008 when they boiught the car did not matter. THEY REFUSED ACCESS TO THE GROCERIES, GLASSES AND GARAGE DOOR OPENER........ I'm not kidding. A-Clown at the counter would not hear of any of the situations that he was putting me under and the father-in-law. what a nitwit. Cost the folks $110 worth of groceries since I could not keep him out after returning the hour home for a total of a 4 hour adventure to get the groceries. Turns out the cop returned the docs to my wife in the hospital after we chose not to return to Gary's because of the time and aggravation. They have the glass covering the aa clowns behind it for good reason because he was seriously 3 seconds from the most embarrassing moment of his life. Out a horrible situation this joke of a company only made it worse and has no common sense. Avoid these idiots like the plague. read more

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!! DON'T USE THESE PEOPLE... AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!! My son was in an accident and when TPD showed up, they called Gary's Towing to tow my car, of course, they just took it back to their lair without asking. This was on a Saturday night. Of course, they never contacted me to let me know they had my car. I tried calling on Sunday, but no one available until Monday. Unable to reach anyone on Monday. On Tuesday, I call my claims agent, who refers me to Caliber Collision, whos tells me I have to call Gary's Towing to 'release' my vehicle so they can begin the repair process. I call Gary's Towing around 11am on Tuesday and tell them they have my car and I'd like it released and taken to Caliber Collision. The girl, "Andi", says "you want US to tow it over there?"... I thought since they are a tow service, and took my car without asking, that they'd tow it over there. I was wrong. She then says "It doesn't work like that.... you have to have your insurance agent call and release the car... that's why you pay them the big bucks for" as she snickered. I said 'Fine, I'll call them". I called my agent, who called the claims person, who said they'd take care of it within the hour. I follow up in an hour, and called Caliber, they said Gary's won't release it yet. I called Gary's and Andi said they haven't received any release papers yet. I called my agent, who called claims, and then called back and said he faxed them a release notice an hour ago. I wait a little bit, called Caliber, nope - no release. I called Gary's, Andi said nope - no notification. I said "Well somebody is lying to me then, because my agent and claims person said they faxed you paperwork a couple hours ago..." she then pauses, and says "wait one moment while I check...." (yeah, right)... and she comes back to the phone and says "We didn't receive all the information we needed"... I asked "well what else do you need? You have the claims person corporate phone number? address? contact info?" she said "yes.... but it's not on company letterhead".... can you believe that??!!!! Good grief. Long story short, 17 phone calls and 5 hours later, they finally 'release' my vehicle (it was so ridiculous, the attorney for my insurance company had to get involved to see why they were being so difficult in releasing my car!), but had no one available to tow it that day or the next day, Wednesday... that it would be Thursday at the earliest before they could tow it over. I called Caliber, they had THEIR tow service go over and get it within the hour! Kudos to Caliber for being so helpful... shame on Gary's Towing for being such idiots about the whole thing, and trying their very best to hold my car hostage so they can rack up their storage fees and take advantage of the insurance companies. Talk about criminal business practices... these guys should not be allowed to have a contract with TPD. It makes TPD look bad for being associated with them. I put notes in the glove compartment of all my cars, and my family and friends cars saying 'IF NEED TOW, DO NOT USE GARY'S TOWING, USE ANYBODY ELSE, JUST NOT GARY'S!!!" Do yourself a favor and do the same. These folks are simply horrible. Talk about unfair business practices, fraud, misrepresentation and oppressive & unconscionable acts...
