I am disabled and can't drive due to a TBI my townhome community had my car towed because it sat in a space for more than 72 hours. Trey came out to tow the vehicle. I happened to be at a doctor's appointment at the time. I asked him to wait 6 mins to allow me time to get there pay their fee and have my vehicle put in my garage. Hey told my son he would wait and then called the police picked up the car and left. We passed each other as he exited my townhome community. Also he would not take payment from my son, he would only take payment from me with a valid ID. There was no prior notice given, nor was there anything posted that if the car was there it would be towed after such amount of time. This is not a reparable company. Trey was not honest. The HOA who was present at the time did not disagree with them dropping the vehicle and it being placed in my driveway or garage. It was when my son said he would pay the drop fee of $225 but didn't need him to put the car into the driveway that he (Trey) decided he would take the car and go. My son told him this because he didn't want me to pay Trey an extra tow fee to place it less than 25 feet away from the spot it was in. It was then that Trey told my son he wouldn't take payment from him (a full adult) but it had to me specifically. He didn't even give notice of where the vehicle was going. Buyer beware the only thing this company cares about is money and how much they can rob you of. Legal counsel has been retained. read more

Five star towing towed my car and damaged it so badly it could not be driven. They apparently yanked on the tie rod so hard it bent to a 45 degree angle. When I tried to drive it off the lot, I couldn't steer. They told me it was fine, denied damaging it. They said they have no process for handling claims of damaged to the car and said if I want, I can sue them. Very unprofessional, incompetent business. Needed a tow on a weekend and was recommended to them by the auto body shop that was working on my car. Gave them a call and was quoted $50 for a ~4 mile tow and that they would be there in and hour and a half. I asked if they accepted credit card and they said yes (but they failed to mention the small fee of $5 associated w/ card payments). The individual from the company arrived about 1 hour and 45 minutes after we spoke and I was charged $60. Ultimately it was a good service but maybe some miscommunication on costs that were not the biggest deal. Ultimately, happy to have used their service and would do so again. Our 2009 Volvo wagon's transmission failed on I-10, and JT Auto recommended Five Star Towing. The dispatcher was awesome and took care of us right away, on a Sunday evening. Mike showed up in his big flatbed tow truck, a beautiful and clean machine. He hooked up and loaded the car super fast, and I rode with him to the garage. Since the car had no power, he jumped in the driver's seat and drifted the car backwards off the bed and into a parking spot. Super friendly and helpful, very professional, clean operation. My cars catalytic converter went out, and I stalled out on the side of a road, when I called they said your total will be 100 dollars which I was fine with and they also said it would be a 30 minute arrival window which was true. They arrived within there window, when the tech got out of the car he asked what happens when I said out the catalytic converter went out my car stalled and now it won't run again. He said no that's not your catalytic converter it wouldn't cause your car to stall. I'm not stupid one I know what I'm taking about, my car was in a rough spot i offered to push the car into an easy spot he said "no that's to much work I won't make you do that" he got his truck stuck and hurt his finger trying to get my car and charged ME 75 dollars extra so my total was 175 for a decision HE MADE he honestly though he could take advantage of a young women I'm sure cause he thought I had no idea what I was talking about. I needed a tow from church to the Automall. I was quoted $95 for 10 miles. I ended up only needing to go 3 miles away. I agreed to the extra fees upon their arrival since the front tire was off the axel. I'm a single mom with a young son. The driver joked to my 9-year-old that the transmission fluid tasted like candy. We both had to stop him from getting near the fluid to smell it. I was charged $50 a skate that was him putting it under the tire with his foot as a wedge to move it up on the trailer. I was charged $120 for the tow, which I was told was $95 for 10miles; we went 3miles. When it was time to pay, he charged me $295 with no itemized bill to look at until I paid, and the receipt was sent to my email with the details. I WAS RIPPED OFF!!!! I called the office two times and spoke to the same woman who told me she would call me back. I never received a callback, so I called again. She told me again she would look into it and the owner or herself would call me. This was a week ago. No one has ever returned my call. I will be reporting to the Better Business Bureau. Word of mouth is the best advertisement. I will be spreading the word about this horrible company and how it took advantage of a single woman with her child during a challenging situation. read more

I accidentally turned onto an island in a parking lot and got my car very stuck. I called the first number I saw, the gentleman on the phone was very efficient. He showed a sense of urgency. He asked me all the details then said the tow truck would be there within minutes, which it was. They came to get my truck and wanted $70 more than what I was quoted, along with being told I was not given at price so they called me a liar. $70 difference is huge. They dispatched a driver without asking me about scheduling. I wasnt able to measure my shed I needed moved because the driver arrived 30 minutes before I was able to get there. The shed would not fit under powerlines once loaded on the truck and I canceled the service. Inwas still charged $100 for them to come out when I was never asked when a good time for me was. Will not use them again. Driver was nice, owner was rude and ignored my text messages. Called the driver asking what my problem was instead if replying to me. read more

On Friday, November 10, 2017 late in the day I called 5 Star to request a flatbed to Tucson for the following week. The dispatcher told me that they could accommodate me that afternoon and would take my car to Tucson. When I asked how much it would cost I was quoted $80. Romeo picked up the car within the hour and delivered it to Tucson where I met him. With my credit card I paid $100 for the flatbed transport. I accepted that figuring that it was OK. What's $20 when Romeo was so pretty. When I received my credit card statement the cost was now $105. When I called 5 Star I was told that they were "Sorry" but there is a $5 charge for credit card. I followed with 5 Star to allow them to resolve this which they declined to do. If you plan to use 5 Star get your price quoted in advance. If you need them in an emergency hold on to your wallet and get ready to take it in the shorts. read more

Had a tire blowout on the freeway that caused the front bumper to detach. I Had the car towed to my house and I went to work. when I got home later that night there was a huge dent in the fender above the tire that blew out. I called the company and spoke to RENE (driver) Right away he was very defensive when I told him about the dent. He said "prove it was me, that did it!" He said the tire blow OUT caused the car to dent in! Very confusing! He gave every excuse you can think of to get out of this mess. Halfway through the argument Rene didn't know what car we were talking about!!!!!! " he said "I towed a lot of cars today" I Tried calling the company, but they wouldn't answer, until the next day. The owner is just as bad! Very unprofessional, came up with NO solution. Finally after arguing with the owner for 10 mins he says "let me think of a way to fix things, I'll call you right back." Great job that the driver did last evening, got stranded at Home Depot at El Con, it took about an hour before the towtruck driver showed up, we did not even have to be there, he found the car, had to put it into neutral underneath this small Scion, hooked it up btwn two other cars alongside of ours and off he went to drop the car off at Simmons off road on Ajo. They dropped my 5000$ tool box when they were towing it I legit have receipts from purchase 12 days ago unharmed videos beforehand the tow and after they dropped it off at the next location the tow guy told me that it had kind tilted over and some of my drawers opened up I had locked it up. I didn't think much of it the guy was ancy to get out the situation his name was Chris and then he left I started inspecting my tool box and found that the drawer sliders that have to be malleted on had been ripped off three of my drawers and the top closing part is totally bent at the latch my tools were scattered in all drawers and some of my tools had been thrown in different drawers it didn't just tip over this is a brand new matco toolbox and it looks like it dropped flat on his face due to his lack of restraints he put on the box he didn't strap the top down he just tied it up by the wheels. Then when I called to have the situation handled they asked who I told them they didn't call me back a hour went by I called back they were saying that they didn't do anything to my toolbox and that it was not their fault they kept hanging up on me and that Chris said that's not what happened read more
