First visit today snd first impressions were great! First impressions of the office - clean, well run and most importantly easy to park along with great service! As it was my "welcome visit", met with the nurse practitioner/PA. At first I was a little worried as she mentioned our time was short but she did take the time to go over everything with me. (Probably didn't help that I initially said I was expecting Dr. Laura!). At the end Dr Laura came by for a quick hello. The visit went like clockwork! Happy to have made the connection and looking forward to a new lifelong health partner.

First off she has terrible bedside manner and speaking to her was like talking to a brick wall! Dr Williams Wayne lacks manners, compassion and empathy! Dr. Williams will send out tons of referrals with no guidance on what to do or who to call. Dr Williams will also NEVER respond to an email so if you're expecting communication you won't get it from her, better off asking GOOGLE. Dr Williams gave off such cold vibes she should be working at an ice cream parlor not as a medical provider!

I selected Dr A because his practice focuses on old people. I visited him for the first time for a "getting to know you" visit. I was 5-Star impressed! He didn't order a follow up, no blood work, no physical, no colon probing mentioned. I could have hugged Dr Allen. I should've, next time. I was concerned with a mole that changed color and was painful. At the time Dr. Clark stated, "The mole looks fine and probably red from itching" and I stated that I did not feel it was normal and only then did Dr. Clark respond with, "If you really want me to, I can give you a referral but I think the mole is fine"... In a very reluctant tone. I of course stated, "Yes, please!" I am really glad that I said yes, because as it turns out, that mole that seemed to look fine to Dr. Clark, was melanoma. I wanted to give this feedback because I feel that most people would just trust the word of their doctor and not push the issue. Melanoma can be deadly if not treated, and I am not sure what would have happened had I not pushed the issue. I understand that he is not a dermatologist, my point here is his reluctance to give a referral that may have caused serious consequences had I not been demanding. Needless to say, I will be switching Doctors.

Turns out I had swimmers ear, which I assumed was the issue as I surf and swim laps daily. I received a prescription for ear drops and an antibiotic. As a side issue I mentioned that I had been stung by a ray two days prior and wanted him to take a look at the puncture wound just to make sure I was treating it right. He looked at it and said it looked fine and did I want a tetanus shot? The lifeguards told me that it might be an option but it most likely wasn't necessary. Here is why I am extremely disappointed in him as a doctor. I specifically asked will a tetanus shot have any side affects that could inhibit me on my vacation on Monday that is my priority (to be healthy for the trip). He brushed me off and said a tetanus shot was no big deal. I got the shot and was sore in the arm but overall glad I got it, until 4 hours later when I started to feel weak and sick. The next day my arm was so sore I couldn't lift it, I had a 101 degree fever, my joints were aching and I was nauseous ( I left work early). Today a full 48 hours later I still feel sick, my arm is spasming and sore, I have a low grade fever and am furious that he would not warn me as to the side affects of a tetanus shot. I might be ignorant for not knowing,(Poli/Sci Major) but I am not the medical professional Dr. Clark is and he gave me ZERO indication that I was going to feel even the slightest discomfort. Now I am worried that I might have to cancel my first vacation in two years because I will be unable to enjoy any of the activities I was going to enjoy.

My personal overall experience was very good and I will explain more. I called last week on Monday…read moreand was able to set up an appointment the same week on Friday with Dr. Brodsky at 10:15 AM. Quick calendar appointment was great. Arriving there were 4 people in the waiting room with at least 20 chairs so seemed spacious. I walked up to the front desk where I was greeted nicely, explained I had an appointment to the young gal behind the desk, she confirmed then politely asked for my ID and insurance card, she gave me initial paperwork to fill out with a clipboard/pen and within 15 minutes of arriving my name was being called by the intake nurse. Greeted warmly the nurse took my weight initially on the scale then led me back the room where I would be seen by the doctor. The nurse asked me a series of questions about what I wanted to get checked today and if I had any medical conditions they needed to know about. She took my blood pressure and asked me to wait for the doctor and left closing the door behind her. After a few minutes Dr. Brodsky came in greeted himself, pulled a seat up to the computer in the room and proceeded to ask me a series of questions based about my needs were today. He is straight-up and to the point type of guy so don't expect small talk or a joke but that is all good with me. More efficient that way anyway. My visit was to get a full blood panel taken to see what my iron, cholesterol and vitamin levels are as a standard checkup, I had a skin tag on my neck wanting to get removed and lastly I had injured my finger that needed to get a professional opinion on. Dr. Brodsky was straight to the point addressing all three of my items, did a physical checkup on me, used liquid nitrogen to quickly burn the skin tag and wrote me up to get a full blood panel to be done in-house that day and a seperate visit at a third party for an x-ray for my finger. After proceeding to schedule everything in the computer for me Dr. Brodsky said goodby, shut the door, and the nurse came about 5 minutes after. She led me back the waiting room and told me to write my name on a hanging clipboard to get my blood test drawn and I would be called shortly. Literally within a minute while I was writing my name a bright smiling with her eyes nurse called me. I came to find out her name was Karina (apologies if that's not how she spells her name) the phlebotomist who would be drawing my blood today. She led me back into a small room with another woman there, Stephanie. We all joked around as they prepped me and the vials for extraction so the feeling was light and fun. The manager Dee came in with some banter of her own which was great to be around. Didn't even feel the needle and the vials were all filled in no time. Handled with care and I was done. Given a cup for a urine sample which was completed and I was on my way. Had one last laugh with everyone, said goodby and was on with my day. The entire appointment lasted about 45 minutes from start to finish and was pleasant. My advice is go in with a good attitude and you will get back what you put in. Many thanks to the entire staff at this facility because they were all great in their own way and I will be back. I forgot to tell the doctor about my deviated septum so that will be next review of my second time going there.

Please tell me your story. 100% confidential! Dr. Melgar said she see's nothing, but she refused to listen to my symptoms and that mold had been recently found in my bathroom. She couldn't care less about my serious bilateral ear infection symptoms, nasal sores, reoccuring low-grade fever, ... which had all been going on off and on since our first doctor's visit together a year or more ago. Refused to acknowledge a possibility of environmental involvement. I live far away and it is extremely difficult for me to physically come in person. Especially since they insist on torturing me with hot exam rooms that deteriorate me and make me sick and difficult to drive back home. Because of the temperature issues, I struggled tremendously coming in, in person. She refused to take a sample of the liquid oozing from my worse off left ear, to test, and see what was going on. She told me to see my ENT, after the ENT I had already been referred to and had already seen, sent me back to Dr. Melgar. I will be reviewing that Doctor very soon too. All the ENT cared about was getting me in for as many visits as she possibly could stringing me along taking advantage of my forgetfulness and not addressing everything I came there for. All she cares about is surgeries she does not care about maintaining Medi-Cal patient ENT health. BOTH WASTED MY PHYSICAL VISITS, STRENGTH, ENERGY, AND TIME. BOTH were obviously trying to purposely pushed me into some sort of mental break. It's a game to them guys!! They do not care because they get paid regardless. Unless it's just me that's being targeted? Dr. Melgar and another PCP her at the Mission Beach Clinic also refused to fill out my medical SDG&E form, to help with my medical A/C cold temp control REQUIREMENT and others. Even though it had already been filled out once before by my previous PCP at a different clinic, years ago. I simply needed an updated form, because we had moved into a new home, and I needed to add new health changes and requirements. My condition is degenerative, lifelong, terminal, so I won't be getting better. If your PCP also refuses to fill out your legitimate needed paperwork you're needing to help yourself, please contact me privately. We are more powerful if we stand together. These people are literally getting paid to not do their job jobs and/or torture you unnecessarily.
