I experience moderate discomfort during routine dental visits, and his team always goes above and beyond to ensure that I'm comfortable throughout my visit. My former dentist would fault me for this: "you dont floss enough or brush thoroughly..etc" was their reason for my consistent discomfort. At this clinic, I experience none of that. You're uncomfortable? Okay we'll numb you- no more pain and leaving in a bad mood after treatment. I am always greeted very kindly by the girls up front and my hygienist. Hearing everyone talk and laugh frequently with Dr. Mercado goes to show that it's a healthy work environment and enjoyable place to work. I really value that component and it positively impacts the energy of the clinic. Thank you all for always taking such good care of me even though I'm high maintenance and extra sensitive

Hello, my name is Tony. The tech whitening my teeth at Dr.Mercado DDS wasn't at all gentle or…read morecareful. She pulled my mouth so wide open she literally tore my labial tissue connecting my lip to my gums. If that wasn't bad enough, she carelessly spilled the bleach in my mouth, on my nose, tongue, upper & lower gums and outer lip. It burned so bad i had blisters in my upper and lower gums, outside my lips and on the right side of my nose. It burned and blistered from Friday to Monday. As a retired cop, I've been maced many times in the line of duty, but this was so much worse. After the fact, she did apologize, the carelessness was nonetheless unacceptable. Dr.Mercado did check in with me, but provided no form of compensation for a job that was incomplete nor for what I had unfortunately gone through. Im not only paying a small fortune for my procedure, but it seems as though every time I go there I'm being billed for something else outside of what I initially agreed to. I had assumed that for the high price tag it was all inclusive. I was wrong. I was charged for a tooth exam and was told I needed nearly 5 thousand dollars more in dental work. Funny, because my last visit to my local hygienist/Dentist, said my teeth looked great that my hygiene was great snd my gums were doing much better. Not at all happy thus far for the tremendous amount of money I've paid thus far. My experience has been one big disappointment after another. If something doesn't change soon, I will stop going to this practice. Could this just be an isolated incident, maybe, but all it takes is one bad experience to ruin a persons day or in my case-weekend.

Nearing 40, I didn't want to go through braces again. That's when I started looking into composite bonding and found Dr. Monica Crooks. She completely changed my smile. I had my teeth whitened, cavities fixed (including work from a previous dentist), and bonding done to close the gaps and smooth everything out. I'm still shocked when I look in the mirror. It feels like I finally have the smile I've always wanted. I'm super picky, and every tiny detail I asked her to tweak, she did without hesitation. That kind of patience and artistry is rare. And it shows in her work. Her office is something special too. It's Egyptian-themed, full of culture, art, and beautiful details that make it feel less like a dentist's office and more like a gallery. It actually makes the whole visit feel like an experience, not just an appointment. Dr. Crooks is dynamic, artistic, and truly talented. I went in self-conscious about my gaps and came out with a smile I can't stop showing off.

I've been a man on the run when it comes to dentist offices. Some were out of my insurance network,…read moreothers were too far, and a few just didn't pass the vibe check. But I can finally say -- I found the one. I came in for a new patient exam and a cleaning, and from the moment I walked in, I felt like I was in the right place. I was greeted by Pearl, who was super friendly and professional right off the bat. Then I was brought back by a really kind tech (sorry I didn't catch the name!) who was patient with me while I struggled to get a few clear X-rays. Totally my fault. I was trying, I promise. Then I met Dr. Kelsey Lomen -- and yep, she is now officially my dentist. The moment I saw the Converse, I knew I was in good hands. She's professional, sweet, funny, easy to talk to, and super detailed in her exam and treatment plan. Bonus: she's got a gentle hand, which my gums definitely appreciated. Then came the cleaning with Maria, and once again -- smooth experience. Friendly, thorough, checked in with me often, and made the whole thing feel way less stressful than usual. I'm not excited about possibly needing a deep cleaning... but if it's with Maria, I know I'm good. If you're someone who dreads the dentist or just hasn't found the right fit, this office might be it. And as for me? Still not flossing daily... but at least now I feel guilty about it.

I've had to visit a few times over the past few months because I came in with a few cavities and had never had fillings before. I was pretty nervous, but Dr. Dean & the team made the whole process smooth and manageable. They gave me breaks when I needed them, used numbing gel before injections to minimize discomfort, and were so calm and reassuring throughout. I'm also very health-conscious and had some questions about the materials used in a new retainer. Pearl and Logan went out of their way to help me get the information I needed to make a decision. I really appreciate how seriously they took my concerns. A Plus Dentistry has also been so affordable & transparent. I'm very glad they work with my insurance and that I'm in-network!

Edit 8/30/21: I found out that my review from earlier in the year was not posted. Here goes:…read more I will start with saying that I do not like change very much! Especially when it comes to my medical/dental care. I used to go to a dentist less than a mile from where I live - which was phenomenal and worked well with my schedule. My sister, Shareen, has been raving about Dr. Patel for a few years (she even entered Dr. Patel's number in my contact list a while back). In January, I started having this pain on my left side of the mouth (about a couple of weeks after my last routine dental appointment at my regular dentist)...long story short, I ended up needing a root canal and found out that I had a cracked tooth that was progressively getting worse. Which led me to think - maybe my dentist should have caught it during my last very recent visit). Anyway, fast forward to today. I switched to Dr. Patel in late January and am extremely thrilled. The entire team is helpful, cheerful, knowledgeable and makes for a pleasant experience. The office is conveniently located (not under a mile from my home, but it is an absolutely worthwhile trade-off). I ended up needing a crown and the team worked around my schedule and kept in contact with me for any openings that may come up before my scheduled appointment. The text communication is super helpful, as a I spend most of my work life on conference calls. During my prep to get the tooth ready for the crown, I did not like all the "stuff" happening in my mouth, so Dr. Patel would pause after every few seconds and make sure I was okay. I think the procedure took about 30 minutes, but it felt like it went by much faster, even though Dr. Patel would stop for me to make sure I was okay. That is how efficient he is! Oh and they have a TV mounted to the ceiling, so you can actually have something to do instead of just laying there. AND - they give you awesome headphones so you can catch up on your old episodes of Friends or Narcos or whatever! And while writing this review, I found out that my other sister, Shane is also a patient of Dr. Patel. We are making this a family dentist! Pam is a terrific, Bonnie is awesome, Kelsey is superb, Kasandra is a delight, and Dr. Patel is a Rockstar! I highly recommend them.

The best dentist in the Arden/Sacramento Area hands down!…read more I found Dr. Patel through Yelp and was obviously initially skeptical of the reviews. The office is beautiful. Kind of a relaxed, chic welcoming feel to it. After spending the last couple of years with Dr. Patel and his amazing team working through a comprehensive treatment plan (crowns and veneers) I can honestly say that this is best professional service I've ever had. Dr. Patel and his team, especially (Jessi who is in the front) generously spent the extra time working through a complicated insurance plan situation with the up most patience, always keeping me in the loop through the process. Appointments were always made to best fit my schedule and there was never a feeling of being rushed during the many consultations as the treatment plan constantly evolved. Gabi , Erica and Nathalie are always extra patient with me as I have severe anxiety about having poking and prodding done to my mouth. (YES, like a little kid LOL ) There is never a day that you look forward to going to the dentist but Dr. Patel excels at making the experience somehow almost tolerable and humane. Old school bedside manner meets the new century. Call them if you have questions about your insurance or even if you want a 2nd opinion. You know its always good to have another insight on what other doctors/offices say what you need. Really, stop looking, go to Dr. Patel if you are looking for an A+++++ General Dentist!!

It's always a warm welcome when you walk in the door…read more I've been coming here for over 5 years and love how they treat their guest. As an adult I still get nervous walking into my dentist appointments. But once i'm here the staff makes you feel comfortable and they are super friendly. I've had all of these treatments and never had a problem with them after. (Root canal, fast braces, deep clean, and regular cleaning) My go to Dentist! Recommend!

So I went here for a while. Got a lot of work done over 2 years. A few visits in the Dentist…read moredrilled a cavity out that I couldn't see in any X-ray but he swore was there. Behind one of my front teeth. Then some lady with her face and head completely covered with a doily came in, said nothing to me, stuck her finger in my mouth and sloppily filled the hole. Everyone who worked there kept insisting that the sharp edges she left from her sloppy job would smooth out but months and months went by and that never happened - just like I knew it wouldn't and just like they knew wouldn't. Finally I complained to the blonde haired white woman, who happens to be nice and normal like the rest of us (who were born here and have respect for the lands and each other and not just 'their own kind) who cleans teeth took a look and could see and feel what the imports "couldn't." She told the "Dr" about it. Next time I went in to get my teeth cleaned - I was switched to a new cleaner - who just so happened to also be an import. She poked and scraped the s*** out of my gums, creating new problems including gum reduction. That oughtta shut me up, ha? 'Be quiet and passive you s**** A*****.' At the time all this was happening - I was still recovering from years of mourning from years of continued losses including my father in law, grandfather, sister in law, pets, etc. Getting other back teeth chipped off by this guy who claimed those things never happened or that they just so happened to happen while he was back there doing work next to other teeth near those. All this happening while I was in one of the most vulnerable states of my life was really f***** up. Going to the Dentist was actually me trying to take care of myself and be optimistic in a post-pland****-co*** world where many people prior to, during after after I knew had passed away, among other things. But - I'm better now. So I'm writing this because - when I complained about the f***** up filling the sloppy, rude a** towel h*** left - he finally took it out. He kept trying to get me get braces and teeth whitening and implants but all I wanted was my f***** tooth he f***** up filled correctly. So I went in, got it filled and two days later while I was at home minding my own f****** business - that s*** suddenly came out. So I called them, went back in and this guy tells me and my partner - he's not going to fix it because it would just happened again. I had no issue with this tooth until I went to this place, to this guy and that team. Now he was saying - I won't fix it - you need to now get all of your teeth crowned - but get braces first - so that after your teeth - one of which I won't fix - get straightened out - we can then cover them up. Guess he thought I was some Mexican silly f****t rolling in money, pulling the purse strings or something. It's been about a year and a half and there's still a hole in my tooth that I got when I was in an extremely vulnerable place that they took advantage of - but I'm better now. Today I had to go through the parking lot of that place to avoid the traffic from that restaurant next door that s*****ly replaced the lawn with rocks so they can be an upscale fish bowl, and came across the secretaries and assistants that work there. They all started saying hi like they didn't know what happened. I said nothing but that seems to have led them to believe they should say it with bigger, more "confident" smiles and louder - so I said - I still have a hole in my tooth. The girl from the front desk who tells everyone what to do just started laughing. So. I decided to write these truthful events. This is for you, girl.
