The other doctor and medical assistant duo applied more pressure to my back when administering the skin tests, so my welts and hives were more significant than others. I was legitimately severely allergic to everything according to that day's test (food). I've had a normal diet and have never reacted to eating or touching food before. They're pretty safe w covid protocols. My gripe is that you need to make a separate appointment for your allergy test results. Over a month of visiting, I spent more than $500 after insurance for the consultation, 3 allergy skin tests, and a review of my results. If insurance didn't pay anything, it was about $250 for consultation, then $800 for the three allergy tests, then another $150 for the test results telehealth appointment. I was about to attend my follow up appointment three weeks after my last skin test, but didn't want to be charged again. At other offices I've been to, you get your results same appointment. Another annoying thing is with my dermatographia, I didn't really learn any information since the skin pricks from the allergy tests showed that I'm allergic to everything. Wondering if a blood test would've been more conclusive.

From my first appointment, Dr. Khadavi was different. He listened carefully and took my symptoms seriously. He didn't jump to conclusions or dismiss me as others had. His approach was thoughtful and methodical, first ruling causes out, identifying the underlying issue, and then creating a treatment plan. And if one step didn't work, he had a Plan B ready. I really feel that he was genuinely invested in helping me get better. Dr. Khadavi's treatment plan almost completely resolved my stomach issues in less than six months. For the first time in years, I feel stable and able to live my life without constantly monitoring every bite of food or in fear of flare-ups. He also reviewed my asthma medication and noticed I had been taking a sub-clinical dose of my preventative inhaler. With his guidance, my asthma is now in remission and I've been able to stop using my preventative inhaler. I can honestly say that Dr. Khadavi changed my life. I feel so lucky to have found him and cannot recommend him highly enough.

I've been seeing Dr. Anderson for three years and been getting monthly allergy shots in this office the entire time. Dr. Anderson has never been anything but kind, professional and caring when I've spoken with her. On my very first visit with her, she actually solved a medical mystery I've had for years of my life, based on a single gesture I made towards my throat. The office staff is always so friendly and welcoming and willing to go above and beyond to help me get things figured out. I never have an issue with doctors now typing furiously during appointments -- they're taking careful notes of what you're saying, so they can make sure you get the correct care. If you're looking for an allergist, I highly recommend Dr. Anderson and the team at 16th St. Literally the only thing that sucks is the parking situation.

My pcp immediately prescribed me an Epipen & I scheduled an initial appointment w/Dr. Sun Mi Choi. I did have to wait a few months to get in for the first visit, but it was during the holidays so maybe that is why. In my initial visit, Dr. Choi was very warm and thorough, asking me questions about the salmon incident & also any past allergy history. After listening intently to how I broke out in hives & was red and inflamed & had some throat tightening a couple hours after eating a piece of salmon, she explained what she thought my reaction was: a Scombroid reaction - something I had never heard of. Apparently when (even refrigerated) fish gets older, histamine develops in it more & more - and if you eat it, you ingest that histamine & that can cause a reaction. I had no idea that eating wild Alaskan salmon that was properly refrigerated, only a day after buying it could cause such an issue! Now I know! My symptoms - intensely itchy hives, red & inflamed skin, all on my upper body only, mild throat tightening - coincided with this diagnosis. To make sure that my body didn't have an allergic reaction to salmon, she suggested we test to confirm. I chose the scratch test option over a blood test, & was luckily able to schedule this with her a few hours later. Her nurse that administered the scratch test was super warm & friendly (as was all of her front desk staff). She did test spots on my arm to show both a histamine reaction & no reaction to compare, and then did a spot for salmon. I was THRILLED when Dr. Choi confirmed that the salmon test came out negative! What a load off my mind! And an explanation for the one serious reaction I had! Thank you Dr. Choi! I'm having sushi to celebrate!!

When I called into the office, I requested to get the first appointment of the day with Dr. Sheinkopf. On the day of my appointment, I arrived early to check-in and complete any documentation. As I arrived, the front office staff told me that no other employees were there and that they'd assist me once someone else gets there. Approximately two minutes later, another patient walks in and the same woman who refused to assist me checked her in and provided her with all the same documents that I was supposed to receive. Once I was put in an exam room, I waited 45 minutes past my appointment time to see Dr. Sheinkopf. Not only did Dr. Sheinkop not apologize for being late, but she was extremely unprofessional and confrontational. After introducing herself, she proceeded to ask me if I had a problem because I wasn't kissing her behind. But as the appointment continued, her behavior got worse--she didn't really listen to me. I found myself having to repeat myself on multiple occasions. When I informed her of two confirmed medications that I'm allergic to, she told me that she didn't think that I was allergic to them because it was confirmed when I was a child and tried to persuade me into getting an allergy test for the previously confirmed medications. Lastly, I found it odd that she wanted me to bring in some of the food items that I was interested in testing, especially since these items are ordinary food items. Needless to say, once I get my allergy test results, I won't be returning nor would I recommend/refer anyone else to seek care from here.

I would not recommend Westside Head & Neck in Culver City based on my experience. I underwent a…read moreprocedure for a deviated septum about a month ago and paid more than $10,000 in full. The cost itself was not my main issue. My issue is that only after I had paid the full amount and completed my final visit with the doctor, I was told that I supposedly owed an additional $1,600 because the office and doctor "did not get paid for the procedure." This additional charge was never clearly disclosed or brought to my attention beforehand. Receiving an unexpected bill of $1,600 after paying more than $10,000--and after the procedure and final appointment were completed--was completely unacceptable. I found the situation outrageous, misleading, and extremely unprofessional. Patients deserve complete transparency regarding all charges before agreeing to and paying for a medical procedure. Based on this billing experience, I have lost trust in this office and would not return or recommend it to anyone considering a procedure.
