While Dr. Hamilton interacted with my son well the day after his birth, he kept him under…read morebili-lights longer than was necessary according to multiple nurses in NICU/nursery, failed to tell us that he did not take our insurance, and delayed performing the circumcision until an hour before his discharge resulting in him being sore once at home for longer than is necessary. All this could have been avoided with a little communication on his part. Having checked that the obstetrician, anesthesiologist, hospital, and assistant surgeon were all covered by Blue Cross, I was dismayed to find out after being assigned him as our pediatrician that he does not take Blue Cross. We had even thought to ask his head nurse (she had worked with him for over 20 years) just prior to the procedure and she assured us that he was with Blue Cross. We are now responsible for 100% of his fees despite the fact that a boarded obstetric surgeon covered by our insurance offered to do the circumcision 2 days earlier. I suggested to his office (Pacific Pediatrics) that Dr. Hamilton make sure with his clients that they are covered by their insurance and she said that "it is not his responsibility". In my line of work, it is absolutely my responsibility as a doctor to make sure that my office double checks with my patients that they can both afford the care and that if they have insurance that we take it. Don't use them if you are with Blue Cross. I strongly recommend using a different pediatrician.

We get taken back right at our appointment time. Super clean and modern office. Even the parking attendant is awesome. I forgot to bring cash once, and he just waved his hand and said don't worry about it. When I tried to pay him back on the next visit, he wouldn't take our money!

My son was in the 3 percentile of weight (due to the misinformation we received from our prior pediatrician and behind on shots)..Dr. Zak consoled and held my hand through the whole process.
