The dentists will come in for emergencies on weekends, which is very helpful. However, at the end of a cleaning, they always bring in a "manager" for the hard sell. They tell you things that need to be done on your teeth (pointing out the critical issues), provide you a very large quote, offer you "free" financing and tell you they are available to do it right now if you wish. They have been offering to fix a "critical" issue on my one molar for the last 5 years. Be careful, not everything they say is critical really is, and always price compare! Their prices for the major items have been more expensive than with other dentists - pretty much every time we've had major work done. Plus, once you are in their system, they will begin an aggressive call campaign every six months to schedule your cleanings. They'll keep calling until they speak with a human, and they'll place a separate call for every member of your family. If you don't like unsolicited sales calls, you'll want to opt out of their "helpful" multiple call campaign. Hey, they're only looking for your dental health, right? They also offer Botox consultations after your cleaning as well. Interesting.

Rarely do I wait longer then 15mins. Before doing any work, they explain what your insurance will pay and what's expected out of pocket. Unlike some, they allow payments (as long as you show good faith on your part). I like some hygienists more than others, but it's more to do with personality than care quality. Dr, Freeman is the best. He is very personable and makes going to the dentist bearable. I have terrible teeth thanks to genetics, and have had several root canals, fillings etc. Doc always makes sure to explain what he is doing, then once he starts, every few minutes he'll stop and make sure I'm not having any discomfort.

Then they did all kinds of procedures that I didn't approve of - thousands of dollars of work was recommended. I told them I didn't approve any of these procedures done. I was given a credit and later had a tooth filled and a different tooth pulled. So the credit I had was used up. I went to a new Dentist this week they did X-rays etc and found two teeth that need to be removed and recommended another Dental Surgeon which I met with today. The charges for the two teeth is going to be less than I paid for one with McKinley. So in closing - the prices of McKinley is way to high and appear to only want to do expensive procedures. Very disappointing. I will say this the Dentist did do a good job as far as the removal of the tooth. Unfortunately the tooth she filled is now one of the teeth that will have to be pulled so I wasted a lot of money having it filled.

We saw reviews on Yelp for this nearby dentist and decided to come on in. I am a huge dental-chicken but I will definitely be going here after I witness how they treated my mom. The work was quick, excellent and priced fair. What I really liked were how nice the people were! Every single person that you have to interact with were kind, knowledgeable and understanding. The actual office environment is very inviting & bright with books and artifacts to put you at ease. I found the music to be a bit loud in the waiting room but I'm sure if I said something they would have toned it down. DDS, Ray McKinley wrote a fascinating book; you can read it or purchase it while you are in the office.

I was skeptical about the idea of a "chain" dentist office but at present I'm pleased. However, that said, if I have any complaint it's that I am in need of a great deal of work unfortunately and have no dental insurance. Even going the cheap route and cutting corners on my own care, the price tag for what is really the minimum of what I would consider acceptable results is $12,000. Yes, you read that right, $12,000. I have been through two years of hell; losing my spouse to cancer, my job and my home both as a result of my husband's illness. I have literally lived in my car for a year. I explained all this to then at Aspen and I found myself disappointed at the extremely detached "Oh well that sucks but this is the price" attitude I received in return. In regards to dental care, they seem very adequate when it comes to dental, but they seem to be severely lacking in the care part. But, I suppose that is as much a statement on the sorry state of our society in general as it is to Aspen. But still, you'd think they could have some sort of programs or policies in place for humanitarian work or sliding fees based upon ability to pay. In my case my family is going to cough up the $12,000. If I didn't have them I would have been sent away to suffer in pain and risk my health from infections or worse and Aspen would have let me go out without a care. In the end I have pretty mixed feelings but, if you have the cash or the insurance then they seem adequate with their professional services.

They will email and text you 2-3 times before every appointment asking you to confirm, confirm, confirm your next visit. Its craziness. Last year, I had an appointment scheduled and received a text a day or two later to confirm that I am still coming in for my visit, I replied yes. A day before my visit, I received another text to confirm my appointment, I confirmed again for a 2nd time. The morning of my visit, I received a phone call from Aspen Dental to inform me that they cancelled my appointment. I had already taken the day off of work for this appointment. They told me that because I did not confirm my appointment again (3rd time, must have called when I was in the shower) they gave my time slot to somebody else. I have never ever been so disappointed in a professional service provider. Of course, I never set up another appointment and received a refund for the work that I pre-paid. They are horrible, do yourself and family a favor by avoiding these people at all costs. -Jeff
