Johnstone and Summers - both highly competent and compassionate doctors. Their on-site Quest Diagnostics phlebotomist, Mona, is also a pleasure to work with. The amazing docs are the reason for our loyalty to this clinic. Have written to the office manager about the other annoyances with no response. As the front office interaction and long wait times may only have a temporary effect on blood pressure, with no long term adverse impact to health, we continue to tolerate them. If you are unable to set aside 2-3 hours to see a doc, this clinic is probably not for you. The other option of the times is telemedicine appointments, when your situation allows, which can significantly reduce your wait time or afford you some flexibility while you wait.

My wife is on a controlled substance that she desperately need and it has to get refilled every other month with an appointment to the day the new script is due. She was told by a very rude support staff that she could not get in for another week - meaning she will have to go through withdrawals for a week. SHE IS IN PAIN AND CANNOT FUNCTION AND NO ONE AT THE OFFICE CARES. Anything good about this place apparently left with Doctor Johnston. Without her there is no reason to put up with this. We will be going elsewhere.

I have a fairly stressful life, and Dr. Shindler suggested that I give it a go to help relieve stress. Well after my first session, I was driving home, hit a TON of traffic on I-275, and it didn't bother me in the least. It was the strangest feeling in the world - like someone took my mean friend away, and I didn't realize how mean that little guy was until he was gone. I have had reflexology in the past, and thought, "sure this is a nice foot massage", but that is not what reflexology is in the least when you're with Ruth. It's just amazing, amazing work. She's passionate, perceptive, kind, and so so much more. I really don't have enough good words to say about Ruth. Give her a try, and you'll try to hunt me down to thank me for making your life awesome. Dr. Shindler is also awesome. He's very easy to talk to, and is open to different ways of healing, including hypnosis. I did hypnosis once, and he will make a recording of the session for you to do at home. This also helped me reduce stress levels - but obviously you can use hypnotism to help with a lot of different issues. Overall, there aren't enough words to express how thankful I am that this office is here... we so quickly brush off things like stress, and other life stuffs, and how they play a role in our health. I recently had to switch my PCP and I was extremely nervous due to my own personal bad experiences with doctors in the past and an immense fear of being at the doctor's office. Dr. Wayne and his staff quickly put my fears aside. I had read reviews that people were forced to wait 30 minutes to see the doctor. That's pretty good! On average, any doctor I've seen before, I was in the waiting room for at least a half hour, and in the exam room for an hour or two. Their staff quickly got me in to an exam room, and I only waited a half hour to see Dr. Wayne. Overall, I'm very happy with the services that were provided and will highly recommend Dr. Wayne and his staff to anybody.

At which time after processing, blood draw, and blood pressure I was made to wait 20 minutes after that was done. The second time I went to see him he was only 30 minutes late to see me because I got up to walk out at the 20 minutes late mark and they asked me to stop. He sent me to a free class that was being offered, other patients of his were in attendance and reported the same thing, "he's a good doctor, if you don't care about time" was my favorite quote by one of the attendees. Now without disclosing too much about why I went to see him, he basically told me I'd always have the issue I was dealing with and to 'get used to being on at least three to four meds'. Suffice to say this is counter to my principals and has later been proven to be medically inaccurate. So on my three criteria doctor standard he gets fail at appointment times, fail at listening, and I'll give him a check minus on the working to craft a health plan. The reason he gets an upgraded mark is he did encourage me to go to a class and educate myself on some issues. So if you have a few hours to kill and would enjoy seeing a doctor sometime in that window Dr. Wayne may be your next new doctor.

My streak ran out when my little guy was ill over the past week. I try not to be too paranoid, but the media finally got to me with all of the hulabaloo with the flu and deaths and if you didn't get your flu shot, you are in trouble - yadda yadda yadda. I was worried and did not want to wait until the morning to take my guy to the doc. Although this facility was not the closest to my house, it was open until 10 PM, so off we went. When we arrived, the lobby was fairly empty, maybe 4 other people waiting, so I was surprised to see a sign made with a scrap piece of paper and sharpie marker that clearly read "2 Hour Wait" sitting next to the sign in board. It was already 8, but I wanted to wait it out anyways. One of the girls behind the desks says to me as I'm walking to sit down with my sick child "You know there is a 2 hour wait, right?" At that point I was already annoyed. Yes, I read your fancy sign. I've got a sick kid so if I have to wait 2 hours then I'll wait two hours. Sheesh. As we waited, a few other patients came into the facility and were quickly turned off by the length of the wait time that was quoted, and left. It was only about 5 minutes after we filled out paperwork when we were called back to see the doctor. I wondered if we were just being scooted back into a room for a longer wait, or maybe because I had such a young child with me we were given first priority? It turned out, neither! We saw the doctor right away. He was very brief. Did not introduce himself as a doctor, rather just "Brian". Hmm. I just thought that was very strange. The kid was diagnosed and given a prescription and we were on our way (not the flu as the media had me originally convinced), AND it was just before 9PM. So the entire process took just less than 1 hour. While I was happy it did not take the 2 hours on the sign, I really think that they put the sign up so they would turn people away! That is just my observation... just a little suspicious to me. When we left there were no patients waiting to be seen in the lobby, so if they were trying to avoid taking on any more patients, their Sharpie sign surely did the trick.

It's easy to navigate and find the office you're looking for. I will say, the check in and check out processes are exhausting. When we arrived, only one check in kiosk was working. I helped an elderly patient work the system as well as it's not super intuitive like other U of M self check in kiosks have been elsewhere that I've used. The check in line without the self check kiosk is long, think 12 patients long. Checking out requires you to wait in the same long line. It goes by faster than you think, but it took me 15 minutes to get through. Someone with a physical injury may be hard pressed to stand in line for 15 minutes. My toddler was tired and cranky and that was hard enough. I think they need a speedy lane for those with physical ailments or others that have a hard time physically standing. It would be excellent for there to be a large-print sign letting patients with physical disabilities know they can enter a different queue.
