I was referred by my primary dentist for root canal to this place. Dr Garrett is nice, professional, puts you at ease, and he did it so quickly, I was literally in and out in just over an hour! And that included doing new patient paperwork for 15 minutes. It was the easiest, non painful root canal that I've ever had or hope to have! I definitely recommend Dr Garrett. Upon meeting Dr Garrett, he asks, "Who referred you?" "Yelp," I confidently reply. "Wow! He replies surprisingly. "Now that's a new twist on finding a dentist. That must be the last place to look for one?!" "Nope, it's my go-to for services and you've got 5 stars, so I chose you." I proceed to tell him my root canal horror story to which he assures me, " You won't feel a thing..." He was hilarious. His work was excellent. And, indeed he made sure I felt no pain. I'd had one other root canal before, done by some quack who had a sadistic hand, smirking while I screamed. In a month that root canal went bad and dumb me went back to the sadistic f*^k. The 2nd one wasn't right either, and short story long the tooth was removed and there lies a gaping hole and a madman on the loose. Being completely traumatized by the first experience I never ever believed I could find an endodontist that could perform the task humanely. Dr Garret is the answer to your fears. Out of the blue, I began getting some soreness in a tooth in late July. I was able to get in to see my dentist within a couple of days and was informed I needed one of those dreaded root canals. Yikes! I've had two root canals before, a long time ago, and I definitely remember one being a bit painful so, of course, I wasn't looking forward to it. I mean, who likes root canals? After reading yelp reviews and making sure his office took my insurance (always make sure about that), I decided to go to Dr. Garrett. I called on a Thursday afternoon thinking I could make an appointment for the following week, but when I was told they had a cancellation and there was an opening the very next morning at 8:15 a.m. I took a gulp and said, "Okay, let's do it!" Might as well get it over with, right? After doing some paperwork when I arrived, I was taken to a room in back where the root canal would be performed. When Dr. Garrett walked in moments later, I asked him if he was a morning person and, with a smile, he assured me he was. He has a good sense of humor and makes you feel very comfortable. He also explained things as he's going along which, for me, was nice. I like to know what's going on...hah! Bottom line, he was great. The procedure was PAINLESS. I'm sure there was probably a little discomfort afterwards as you would expect following a root canal, but it was so minimal I really don't remember. I believe I got in the chair around 8:30 a.m., was out of there in around an hour and at home 15 minutes later eating without any pain for the first time in more than a week. One thing I did learn when talking to people about a root canal is that, if possible, you want it done by an endodontist like Dr. Garrett because they do the procedure using a microscope so they can be very precise. I don't normally write yelp reviews, but yelp helped me decide on Dr. Garrett so I'm just paying it forward. I think it's important to know if patients are happy or not, and three weeks after the procedure I'm a happy camper. read more

Dentists are not my favorite type I review because I get to antsy. Had to come for an old crown that was due for changing. Thought I would lose my tooth but de Garrett told me let's see. I loved the experience. Doc is very calming as he talks you through everything he is doing. State of the art equipment. And usually prompt. First & second appt. were prompt. Third ( and hopefully last) is a big delay but I guess emergencies do happen! I liked the calm factor and it was painless. If I needed anything again I would come here for sure. read more

Dr Garrett is awesome. He makes you feel comfortable and will go over everything with you(no hidden BS.) My dentist, Dr Komae, is the one who referred me to Dr Garrett. I'm not an easy patient either, so much anxiety to the point of passing out. He's understanding, gentle, sympathetic, detailed, professional and laid back. I'm not much of a root canal fan, but who is? I got off to a rocky start when I first entered his office. The tech was hurried in doing an xray and putting things in my mouth a little too rapidly. I had to remind her to slow down. That being said, she apologized and the xray wound up going well. Dr. Garrett explains the procedures as he does them and I like that. My root was pretty long, so I had to come back for a 2nd visit at which time the nerve was removed without pain. Dr. Garrett made sure I got enough anesthesia to not cause discomfort. I gave the office manager (a nice lady) my dentists information so she could send the results for my eventual crown. Dr. Garretts a very nice guy who really knows his job. Just finished second half of root canal and although its not the most fun Ive ever had there was no pain and other than having to keep ur mouth open for a long time it was no big deal. Both appts started right on time and Dr. Garrett is great. He tells u exactly what hes doing all the way through. I highly recommend him and his office. I went to Dr. Garrett about 2 years ago. Dr. Garrett did a wonderful on my root canal. I think he told me my root was really long and complicated. However, he finished it without pain. He was gentle. My coworker had a root canal done at a different place the same week..While I didn't suffer any pain after my root canal, she went to an HMO dentist and she was in pain for 2 weeks. I'm giving this place 4 stars because I didn't like the receptionist. She was also handling my insurance and payment. She wasn't as nice and helpful; very blunt and seemed like she didn't want to serve me as much as her other caucasian patients. read more

Was referred by my regular dentist because this office takes my insurance-got me in quickly looked at everything very carefully determined that I actually need 2 teeth done. Took longer for the consultation and x rays and prepping than the actual procedure. Have to go back for the second one next week. Hopefully that will go as well. read more

I have been going to dentist since I was 5 years old, so I know a thing or two, not to mention I have had many root canals...I lost count! I was referred to Dr. Garrett in 2014 because my dentist discovered an instrument left in my root from the last dentist!! During my consultation with him, he didn't find the tooth with the instrument as alarming as another tooth with a large decay close to the nerve. He told me to watch for it, and I decided to wait. Well, four years later, I started getting a tooth ache. I called on a Thursday, and I was in on Friday. He is awesome. It is always painful to endure the darn the first novacaine shot, but I didn't feel a thing with his technique (movement in the side of my mouth). I was referred to Dr. Garrett for a root canal. The desk person is courteous. The billing person is unfriedly. It took me 3 trips to get it done...but not over. I am now seeing another endodontist for some repairs. Very disappointed in the poor prep done by the technician. Dr. Garrett is a nice man but not a good endodentist unfortunately. I was referred to Patrick Garrett for a root canal. He was highly recommended and I now see why. The root canal today was by far the quickest and easiest (as root canals go) I've ever had. The doctor and his staff were very professional and prompt. I did not sit there waiting and waiting as I have had to do with other dentists in the past. My whole life I've heard how terrible root canals are. Well, not if you are lucky enough to be referred to Dr. Garrett!! He's simply fantastic. I saw my regular dentist at 8:00 and was told I needed a root canal. They called Dr. Garrett, and by 11:00 I was in the chair in his office. The entire experience was a piece of cake, thanks to Dr. Garrett and his capable staff. My procedure was totally pain free, and Dr. Garrett explained everything he was doing along the way. He told me to expect some post-procedure discomfort, especially while chewing, but I've had NONE whatsoever.
