My then-7 y/o son was able to climb 8 feet up a structure for its intended use and jump off "on a dare" by other kids and ended up in the ER. I've also assisted with autistic children that elope and get separated due to the multiple exits. There are also multiple places to have a party, first come first served. This also makes things extra crowded. I haven't been there in a while since the heat, but I am hoping they will maintain a good-sized field because independent play (soccer, football, kite flying, etc.) are just as important as playground structures.

Most of it is cement, but there are sections of it that are bridges made out of wood, so watch your step. It helps break up the monotony of running on you average sidewalk. The path goes up and down some nice hills, through heavily wooded areas, and right along the side of some residential streets. There is a opening where you run next to and cross over a creek, so I can imagine that the mosquito population here can be pretty heavy. Be careful and wear some DEET. Probably the crown jewel of this park (for some people, not for me), is this huge play ground. When I say huge, I mean HUGE!!! It's a pretty massive structure of wooden beams and planks to climb and play on. The path cuts right by it, so if you take it the whole 1.44 miles around, you'll pass by it! Harwood Park is another and final step (of four) Priority Parks that Downtown Dallas Parks Conservancy built in partnership with the Dallas Park & Recreation Department. The space, which was previously several parking lots and vacant buildings, broke ground in late 2021 and opened in September 2023. Today, it is relatively large park with features including a large playground area, a sport court that accommodates both basketball and pickleball, a couple of dog parks, along with an interactive water feature. To set it off, there is a gold ring pavilion which is located near the Harwood and Jackson Street entrance.  There are multiple table/chair sets throughout the park which will be useful socializing over a cup of coffee or food from the area.
