I want to preface this review by saying that I love FSU, have my whole life, and have made multiple trips to Tallahassee in the past just to shop at Garnet and Gold at their location in Governors Square Mall (no idea if it's still open.) I tried to purchase a 4 inch decal through their website last year, which was on sale for like $3 and with the discount code it was like $2. When it came time to check out, I got to shipping and the only options that were available were UPS and the cheapest option was $12. I contacted Garnet and Gold to ask why their only shipping options were UPS and why they would charge $12 to ship a decal and they said that their site should have had USPS options, which I showed a screen shot that it didn't, they sent a free shipping code. When I entered the free shipping code, it said the code wasn't valid. When I tried to reach back out, they couldn't say why the code didn't work and said that there must be an issue with their website and to check back soon. It's now almost a year later and the website still only has UPS listed as their only shipping option. Normally, I wouldn't complain because I LOVE Garnet and Gold and usually I'd just buy it from another source, but Garnet and Gold is the only place that has this particular decal. For me, trying to purchase via their website has been a nightmare and I wouldn't suggest it, but if you go to the store in person, it's fantastic! read more

By far the BEST place to get anything FSU - plus, shopping local can't be beat! Such a nice spacious layout with a women's, men's, and kid's section in addition to a TON of fun accessories, grill covers, car magnets, koozies, game day bags, you name it - it's here. Huge kudos to Jeremy at this store who went WAY ABOVE AND BEYOND in helping track down a shirt I was trying to exchange. I am from metro Atlanta so I have to make the best of my visits to Tallahassee when I'm here. I bought the wrong size on a previous visit and needed to exchange it. Unfortunately it was a popular shirt and this location didn't have any but Jeremy took the time to call the Pensacola St. to try and track a shirt down for me. I ordered three shirts from Garnet and gold for the college World Series and was told that as soon as they came in, they would be shipped out. Within two days, the order was shipped out overnight and I received it before game one. Nice store, but way OVERPRICED. I came over from Jacksonville for the Duquesne game, bought two shirts at the Garnet and Gold store off of Apalachee Parkway - one of which was $74.00 - pricey. I popped into Alumni Hall to take a look at what they had and found the same exact shirt for $62.00. A couple of bucks maybe, but $12.00!! If I had the time I would have returned the shirt and bought from Alumni Hall, will be doing so for any future purchases &/or possibly return G&G shirt at the BC game. OMG. Do not order anything from G&G. I am the most loyal Seminole and to be ripped off by them is very disheartening. I paid $50+ taxes for a Nike Shirt. The shirt arrived with a drain on it. It also was too big. I left all the tags on it and paid $10 to ship it back. They reimbursed me $38. I have no idea how they computed that but I am flipping angry and will never buy from them again!! I have been ordering from Garnet & Gold for quite a few years now, since it's hard to find great FSU gear in S. FL. In all this time, I've had only 2 issues. The first was actually my first order - a shirt started to fray at the bottom after 1 washing. It was replaced quickly and without my having to return the original. The 2nd was this week when one of the items I wanted wound up out of stock by the time they were filling my order. My package arrived without that item, but with a handwritten note of apology, the amount refunded to my credit card, AND a gift card to use toward my next purchase. This is the kind of customer service that I haven't seen in a long time. I feel like a valued customer, and they will continue to get my business. read more

Mens clothes Womens clothes Kids Clothes Jewelry Hair Accessories Shoes Home Decor Sweaters Glassware/plateware Bobby Bowden GALOREE Board games etc....I cant even go on because it is too much to name. I cant leave the mall without stopping in here and getting something. and I love me some FSU anything! The employees are all beyond nice and helpful. You are greeted multiple times and they are never hard to find! Most of them are students but the Owner is sometimes there and the managers are great! Never any problems here. Their prices are pretty good. I have noticed on some stuff they are little high but overall, decent! They have an annex store on the other side of the mall that has all of their discount stuff. The ultimate store for the 'Nole fan in your life (or yourself!). Seriously, this place is probably better than the FSU bookstore (though since both have unique items and different brands, both are worth a visit). A HUGE selection of clothing - screen-printed t-shirts, Under Armour, and so forth, all reasonably priced (well, Under Armour is never reasonably priced, but you get the idea). The best part of Garnet & Gold is that they carry a large selection of FSU odds and ends you might not find anywhere else. Specialty items for the various graduate colleges, athletic teams, and for "Mom," "Dad," and "Grandpa!" Also a nice selection of hats, wall art, decals. You name it. read more

I live in WA State, so ordering FSU gear is only possible via Garnet & Gold's website. I placed an order for 5 shirts and requested that they make sure that all the logo's on the shirts are centered - nothing worse than getting a shirt and the logo is 2" to the right or left. Well, when the shirts finally arrived, 3 of the 5 shirts had logos that were off by 2" or more! It's like they went out of their way to give me off-center shirts! When I contacted the company via their Contact Us page, I received a very, very rude email reply from their owner "Guy". He stated that he was "personally involved in my shirt order as they had never received such an unusual request". Really? A customer asking for the logos to be centered is "unusual"? He went on to state that he personally verified that the logos were centered and that he even tried on the shirts for his staff to verify the logo placement and that all the shirts were correct. When I sent if photographic evidence that the logs were WELL off center, he sends back a reply "Yikes. Sorry! Guy". That's it? No replacement shirts? No offer for a partial refund? You just got stone cold busted for lying about "personally checking each shirt" and I get a "Yikes. Sorry!" If you need FSU gear, look elsewhere! If you order from these guys online - prepare to be disappointed! read more

NEVER buy anything online from this store. I bought 3 shirts and was charged 11 days before Christmas. I had checked back in because I never heard anything 1 week later and customer service didn't take the time to respond only sent me an email on the next day(8days after order) that my order was being shipped. I had the order shipped to my sister which lives 10 miles from the store and they received it at 10 pm Christmas Eve. Garnet and Gold only sent 1 shirt and the 2 Christmas presents for my father never came, they was marked as Sold Out. I've called and kept getting answering machine, which I left a message to call me back, I also sent 2 emails for them to call me, they never did. My sister and mother stopped by the store, I live 700 miles away, and they were blown off by the manager. The associate said that a warehouse handles their online orders, but HELLO it's your store! I've never wrote a bad review in my life on a place, but do not buy if you want to be treated with decency from someone. They should have never sent my order without consulting me. I received an email saying sorry on Christmas at 4:05am that they didn't have all my items. I am telling all my friends and family who have supported this place for 25 yrs to go elsewhere. My wife placed an order with a competitor for my Christmas presents, 5 days later than my order with garnet and gold, she had no problems with our order. Absolutely terrible customer service, I would give them a -5 star for ruining my father's Christmas presents. I guess I'll be lucky to get a refund. Pathetic!!! read more

The best place in town to get Seminole gear. They are consistently getting new stuff and always have the most popular items you can't find anywhere else. A must stop before a football game. They also have a lot of signings in store where you can meet previous and current Seminole players and coaches. It's owned locally so you know you are supporting a local company. read more

The stores are ok but their online store needs major improvements! I moved away from Tallahassee several years ago, and have ordered from their online store several times. The last two Christmas's in a row, I have placed orders for merchandise on their website. In both cases, i received a phone call from them 4 days after I placed my order, telling me that they were sold out of items I had ordered. In both cases, I went back on their website to look for something else to order, only to find that the items were still listed for sale...the same items that they told me were sold out. It's totally ridiculous. And when you call them back and ask them why the merchandise is still listed for sale, they get extremely rude. Not cool! read more
