When I arrived their computer system had crashed and they needed to reschedule me. I explained my situation, that I needed a prescription and I wouldn't be able to wait another 6 weeks. They got me in with another doctor to give me a prescription until I could be rescheduled. The new doctor I saw was very thorough, explained concerns he had and why he was doing what he was. He consulted with another doctor when he had questions. In the midst of a very stressful day, all the MOA at the desk had a very cheerful attitude and were very kind and compassionate. All in all, I was very pleased with my experience here, and feel confident about the care I will receive.

Dr. Wash is an amazing doctor. He always remembers our conversations, he asks me about school and, of course, he is brilliant when it comes to medical problems. I found it hard in the past to find a doctor that I can trust completely and that I feel comfortable around, but then I found Dr. Wash and I'm still happy as can be with him. I can't stress enough what a great clinic this is. If I need to get in to see a doctor and Dr. Wash isn't available or a couple days, they let me see someone else (if I'm comfortable with it). I've seen Dr. Haubrich here as well and he is also a great doctor. I would recommend this clinic to anyone who is looking for a great family doctor that they can count on.

Since approximately 2018, I have experienced ongoing difficulty reaching the clinic by phone after a longstanding pattern of not receiving callbacks after leaving voicemail messages. Calls frequently go unanswered, and voicemail messages are often not returned. This has been a consistent pattern over several years, resulting in limited ability to reliably contact the clinic regarding patient care concerns. On the occasions I have reached "Pat" (office assistant), I have been told she is busy. However, when I attend the clinic in person she has not appeared to be occupied with patient related tasks and has instead been conversing with staff or not engaged in work at the front desk. I have spoken to other patients that attend this clinic and they have the same complaints and find it highly annoying. This creates a barrier to accessing care and communicating with the office. Based on my experience, patients should be aware of communication challenges when dealing with this clinic.

Front waiting room has a area for kids and a table full of reading materials. Most I ever wait is half hour when it's really busy (compared to most walk-in clinics, this is a short waiting time before speaking with the doctor). I'm not sure if they're taking any new patients at the moment but it's worth asking if you feel you've had enough going to rotating doctors at walk-ins or are not being listened to at other clinics (you are your biggest advocate for your health after all!). I was lucky to be referred here on behalf of a friend who was a long time patient, as is her family. My doctor is no stranger to dealing with patients with chronic pain issues and I get the feeling from the patient demographics that the other doctor is very knowledgeable too. I can honestly say that I'm impressed that my doctor also takes the time to ask the hard questions, to see how are you handling things in work and life. There's very few days I feel rushed through the appointment but I also warn the receptionist as I book if I think things will need more time for the next visit too. I really hope the changes that all AB doctors are facing this year doesn't affect this clinic. I can honestly say, 15 min barely gets into my full summary of things/updates for her and usually my shortest time there is a half hour. Most times we go past that and I'm very grateful that she gives me that time. There is no debit/credit machine here. So if you need forms filled out or have other services not covered by health care, then you need to bring cash or cheque. There's a bank across the parking lot that is a good back up if you have no idea what the fee will be. It is also tricky calling in to make appointments as the phone hours are reduced and no voicemail option. I always make my next appointment before I leave (I'd rather have to cancel/postpone than be stressed trying to get through to make an appointment). There is also no after hours/weekend times that I know of here. The latest appointment is usually mid afternoon. Parking lot is huge and even if you're not right up by the clinic, there's lots of other space as it's part of a larger strip mall area. Shoppers Drugmart is in the same parking lot in case you use that drugstore for your prescriptions/don't want to drive all the way to your regular location. There's a gender neutral washroom at the back but nothing fancy by any means. In summary a good doctor is worth the driving distance and I'm glad I have her on my medical team to get me mobile.

I was taken in about 5 minutes before my appointment time even though the waiting room was packed. I did spend about 25 minutes past my appointment time alone in the exam room, however the doctor came in apologizing profusely saying she had to spend a little extra time comforting her last patient, totally understandable. I've recently started seeing Dr. Mcevoy (spelling?) and she is absolutely wonderful. She's caring and listens and explains and thinks out loud as to what her thoughts are and courses of action - "hmm, we could try this, what are your thoughts?" and so on. She even sat there and googled images and explained about my neck issues and how muscles and discs lead to pain, pointing out where my issues were. The reception can be a little blunt at times and I was given the wrong date for my last appointment and missed it. Lesson learned, phone a couple days beforehand to make sure. Other then that, a stellar clinic.

When I woke up a…read morecouple weeks ago with the "I'm on a boat" feeling (even though I wasn't on a boat) I thought I'd call around to see if I could get into see a doctor. I called the Smyth Clinic and was told I could only get in if I got one of their doctors to be my family doctor. This was okay with me because I don't have a family doctor. I got into see Dr. Smyth that afternoon and got a prescription for my vertigo (which subsided in a few days). Only issue I had was the receptionists. Obviously, with Covid there's a plastic partition and everyone is wearing masks so it is hard to hear, but I stood and line and couldn't hear anyone say "come up" or "next person" or anything like that. The receptionist seemed annoyed that I didn't come up, but it wasn't obvious that I could/should. But the visit with the doctor went well and I'm glad I have a family doctor I can go to now.

Has always been super kind to myself and my husband. We would not go any other place. The staff are really nice and always helpful. I've never had to wait more than a few minutes for my appointment so they are very punctual. There are now four or five Doctors, some of which may take new patients, so it's worth a try to call and check. The clinic itself is spotless and I can highly recommend this medical clinic.
