I am really at a loss for words with this place it was spectacular! It is my first time up here by Pocono Mountain and stopping by here was one of the best things we've done. The environment is extremely clean, classy and relaxing to be in. The garlic bread they start you off with is to die for! I tried the lobster and steak and they were both perfect. Our server made sure we were good throughout the entire meal and he even walked us through the ingredients that were in our appetizer. Great atmosphere, cozy and warm. I had the ribeye which definitely the thing to get. Super juicy and done just right. Highly recommend the Gorgonzola dip side. The max and cheese was so so, and my carrots that were just basic steamed carrot with raw garlic. We had calamari and Cesar salad, both were so so. Calimari had too much breading and the salad wasn't cut up at all abd kinda looked thrown together...not sure what they're going for, but the dressing was spot on. read more

This was a belated anniversary trip and dinner, and this was to be our romantic meal. Finding a romantic meal in the Poconos is not easy - do a search for romantic restaurants and after the 2nd or 3rd one, it starts to look like diners. There was also a problem with options - trying to find a romantic restaurant that included vegetarian or seafood options - and more than just grilled or broiled salmon - was not an easy task. I almost skipped over Garlic because I didn't think the prices matched the offerings - some of their prices were Ocean Prime/Capitol Grill prices for a supposedly $$$ restaurant in rural PA. However, after a lot of searching, this was the best romantic option in the area for us both. The ambiance certainly fit what I was looking for. The restaurant was very nice, and the table was a half-moon shape with tall benches, giving us some privacy. Our waiter got to us quickly and was very friendly, but perhaps a bit too intrusive during the meal, checking on us more often than would be called for. Still, he was very nice and helpful while we tried to decide what we wanted. We started by asking for drink recommendations, to which he mentioned he was only 20. As I found it laughable that he wouldn't be able to recommend a drink because he was not drinking age, and told him as much, he was able to offer a couple of suggestions - Manhattan for me and a martini for my lady - both of which were good calls. The lady ordered a mahi special they were having, but was told after she ordered that they were out of the sauce it came with. However, they substituted another sauce that she enjoyed. As for me, I went with a 6 oz filet and a baked potato. Have to take points off for this meal. The filet, while cooked correctly, was nevertheless dry, and I don't know how you dry out a filet mignon, especially one cooked medium. Maybe it had freezer burn, but that's not likely, or maybe it wasn't aged well, but who knows. All I do know is that this was not a great steak. The baked potato was just a potato. There was nothing special about it, and all it came with was sour cream and butter. You expect steakhouse potatoes to have some additional accompaniments. I was really disappointed. My date had a similar complaint with her fish - dry - but she loved the sauce so much that it masked the dryness of the fish and she ended up enjoying hers. So, on the one hand, the environment is wonderful and the service is very good. On the other, for presumably one of the best restaurants in the region and for a steakhouse, the steak was a let-down. I was also disappointed by the lack of a pork chop option - a menu I saw online, and I don't recall if it was the restaurants website or a menu photo on yelp (I think it was the later), had a double cut pork chop that I was really craving. Unfortunately, it was not on the menu when we were there. It's strange to me that a steakhouse would not have a pork chop option, and I'm not taking any stars off for that - it's not their fault if the menu photos on yelp are outdated - but it would have been nice to have that as an option. It's a shame this is the best that Stroudsburg has to offer. It could have been much better, read more

The food was good and the waitress was very friendly and helpful. We had a weird issue where the calamari came out, smothered in shaved Parmesan. It didn't say anything about Parmesan on the menu and when we said something about it we got a message back , supposedly from the manager, saying that that's how they serve it everywhere and they would not take it off the bill but we could buy another one. We had the manager come over, which took forever, and made the whole situation was a bit awkward. Eventually they agreed to take it off the bill, but it was definitely more awkward than it needed to be. Having worked in the service industry myself, I'm not accustomed to this type of service, especially in a more upscale restaurant. Otherwise, like I said, the food was good, but if you have any food, allergies, or just foods you don't like, make sure you ask a lot of questions because the menu is lacking detail. read more

Came here for valentines dinner. I would recommend this to a friend. Decor - very contemporary. It was dark inside but had plenty of space. We were seated in a private table for 6, however the seat cushion was semi broken. Service - excellent. The waitress was so accommodating. She made sure all our needs were met was followed up throughout our night. Food - I thought the steak was well cooked. Although I felt was slightly over priced for the quality you're getting. It was almost Peter luger priced but slightly below that quality. My dish was a tad over salty but the sides were excellent. I ordered lobster Mac and cheese and it was very creamy so you have to like that style. We also ordered the rack of lamb and it came with 6-8 pieces if I recall correctly. I don't understand this place. There were so many good things but so many questionable things here as well. The Staff: There was a significant amount of staff working there when we went and they all seemed friendly. However, after being sat, we kept getting overlooked and didn't receive as much attention as most of the restaurant received. After finishing our meal, it took us almost 20 minutes just to get our check and pay. The Menu: There wasn't much to it. A collection of about 25 items("appetizers" and sides included). The menu was a bit pricey but that was to be expected with atmosphere and quality. Our food: The pre-meal bread. Most places give you a small loaf or some slices of a bigger loaf. Garlic gives you two slices of a French baguette which is confusing because they're garlic butter is delicious and you get a lot of it. We asked for more bread because our dishes were taking some time and they literally brought out another two slices!?!?! The average menu item is over $15 so I'm sure they could afford bread. We got four slices of bread total and that is only because we asked for more. My wife got "Cajun" Shrimp Tortellini Alfredo and I got the Jerk Shrimp. We didn't see or taste Cajun seasoning in the entire dish. In fact, it was pretty basic. My Jerk Shrimp said it was black shrimp but aside from the sauce which was very tasty, the shrimp tasted as if was the same as the shrimp in my wife's dish. It was also supposed to include plantain fried rice and while it was flavorful(it was the same sauce they used on the shrimp), we didn't see or taste plantain. There were lots of peas in there for some reason though. We really wanted to like this place but for $76 pre-tip, we expected a little more. read more

After falling on my butt for an entire day at Camelback, I was dying for food. After giving snowboarding a go, for the first time, I was pretty happy with my first try but was SO exhausted. I was screaming steak by the end of the day. We found this place on a Yelp-whim and decided to give it a try. They were fully booked but had plenty of bar seating with full-service menus. I ordered 6 oz Filet Mingon cooked medium, along with mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. I opted for the "special garlic steak sauce" but it wasn't that special. No taste of garlic and it was pretty much like A1. I didn't see it on the menu but since Garlic was in the name, I took a leap of faith and asked if they served garlic bread. They do! For 6 bucks a basket, they'll make you a warm loaf of garlic bread. My friends and I were so excited but when it came out, it was completely frozen in the middle. We alerted the waiter and they brought us a new batch that wasn't frozen the second time. Steak was cooked perfectly but I was underwhelmed with the sides. Unlike the plump mountain I'm used to,the serving of mash potatoes was small and it was smeared thinly onto the plate. The mac and cheese was ok. If you want an upscale restaurant to dine at in the Poconos, this is it. We came here as our fancy dinner during our mini-moon, still on cloud 9 from the wedding and it did not disappoint. The ambiance is cleverly romantic with the booths giving just the right amount of privacy. We ordered a couple of cocktails which we loved and the fried calamari appetizer that melts in your mouth. Service was excellent, ALL staff were, professional, polite, and attentive. Don't find that many places nowadays. Overall food was good quality and portion size. I had the lobster Mac and cheese which I was pleased to find had just the right generous amount of Lobster that I had hoped would be included. The jerk shrimp had great spice, but was not blackened or what one would expect jerked to usually be , the sweet sauce that it was heavily drizzled in was a little bit too syrupy and sweet for my taste. It featured a very nice vegetarian fried rice - the 3 half slice pieces of blanched vegetables, and completely raw red cabbage on the side(which I didn't get and seemed out of place and tough to eat), had no seasoning on them whatsoever. My wife ordered a Caesar salad, which was standard and the eggplant stack, which was very nice and perfectly but I have to agree with all the reviews hear the marinara sauce was excessively sweet!. I tried their margarita, blue tea drink special, which was served in a highball glass flavor was very nice but no one asked if I wanted a salted glass and it did not come served to me as such either. I felt the drink was disappointing due to the fact that for $16 I would not expect them to put a large block cube of ice in a highball that took up 80% of the volume of the glass. Overall, I felt the quality of the food was very good, but there was just some flaws in the execution of each thing we ordered and we waited an hour for an appetizer sized dish of pasta and eggplant and an entree of fried rice and shrimp on a night that was not too busy, which lead me to the 3 star rating. My daughter and I ate here for dinner after frequenting the restaurant when we travel to Stroudsburg. We have had positive experiences in the past. Here's the short of it. The menu is largely seafood and steaks. We ordered the mussel appetizer and two salmon entrees (in addition to drinks and a salad). The mussels were not fresh and tasted so bad. The taste of the bad mussels overpowered the Marina sauce. We have had good experiences here, as stated before, so we didn't complain and looked forward to our salmon entrees. My fish was fresh, but the entree itself was just okay. My daughter tasted her salmon and told me that it wasn't fresh and tasted bad. I tasted hers to compare it to mine. It did taste super fishy and not fresh. I don't know if we will be back. read more

Excited to try this well reviewed restaurant on a rare date weekend with my wife. The wait staff Nick and Nadine were good and very attentive. However, that was the end of the positives. Waited an hour and fifteen minutes for a $42/person entrees that were anything but impressive. My wife's lobster ravioli was mediocre with no presentation, smothered in sauce with a sad piece of toasted bread. Our first time here.. celebrating my birthday. Only problem we encountered was everyone's dinners were served but one .... None of us wanted to start without her salmon arriving. The manager told us it would be 3 minutes because there was a delay (someone dropped it on the floor and they had to remake it). In reality it took 15-20 minutes. Some of us started eating but some continued to wait and their food got cold. They apologized- which was great but they should've taken it off of the tab. It wasn't until I spoke to the manager that they did just that. Other than that - the restaurant is beautiful, the food and drinks were great, and the service was excellent. read more
