Calamari
Tameeka B.

This place was considered one of the nicer restaurants in the area (as opposed to us going to a bar) and the vibe was great for a Friday night. Our server was the absolute best. He helped us with dining suggestions and was a pretty funny guy. I am an old-fashioned cocktail gal but the one I had here that was jazzed up w/ passion fruit I think did not hit. I'd say go with a traditional old-fashioned if you come here for a drink. The Mac and cheese slapped. It was so cheesy and delish. Also the calamari appetizer was a hit with the table, very crispy but not overdone. I'm not a big eggplant fan but I heard the eggplant parm was good. And for my main I got the steak medallions. It was okay but I think I should have went with a seafood option. Overall a good vibe for date night (in the area). Be warned it is a bit pricey for the area.

I have been back three different times since my last review. Each with a different member of their wait staff -- oddly enough, it's been the same bartender though. So, my drinks have been stellar each time. The most recent visit was with a party of 14. We came for a vendor/work dinner. We called in around noon and made the reservation for 7pm. Upon arrival, we were told we couldn't be seated due to policy until the entire party has arrived. I'm somewhat unclear on why restaurants do this --- maybe so everyone has the same timing and experience from start to finish. It makes sense to someone somewhere i'm sure. However, after working all day long -- and having people driving in from 2+ hours away --- we wanted to sit down right away. So, to the hostess -- i'm sorry via the internet if i was a little demanding that we be seated -- because we didn't want to stand up in the lobby. Onto the service, i don't recall either of their names but we had a very nice gentleman who explained the menu to all of our diners from start to finish -- made a few recommendations, and was very attentive to our questions. His parter was also very receptive to the tons of questions thoughout our table being thrown her way. The food was very good again -- calamari was great, lobster mac was tasty, but what really got me this time was the crab cake -- it was phenomenal. Some people complained about their meat not having any seasoning to it -- tasted like it wasn't even salt or peppered.... but mine was just the way i liked it. Rare and with some salt. It is unfortunate that I will likely not be back -- due to my job ending and me heading back home. But this is a must try place for anyone in the area.

Get the filet mignon. Super delicious and melt in your mouth. The stars are for that and the garlic butter. The burrata was pretty good as well. The carrot side was not good. You get like 6 mini black carrots that weren't appeasing or tasty. Their truffle fries were crisp and good. Their shrimp tortellini, which we subbed out chicken came out fine initially but ended up being greasy and oily. Their molten chocolate cake was rich and flavorful. I would get that again. I would come back but would change my order based on what we've already had.

The place is amazing, food is very delicious, I would recommend the shrimp Pasta better. It's a big plate, me and my husband shared it. We also had garlic fries it's delicious. The servers are all nice and place is good.

Rating: 3.5 stars We were visiting Poconos and wanted to get together with a local friend for dinner. After did some search roughly on Yelp, this place caught my eye because there is another restaurant also called Garlic in Vermont which is where we often go to when we visit Killington so we decided to try it. The restaurant is right next to the main street and it looks fancy inside. They served a basket of complimentary bread with butter garlic which was pretty good. We ordered some special cocktails and entrees. Our server was very friendly and attentive and would keep checking in on us to see if we needed anything. Most food was good but they were not worth the price. Also the portion was small. However this place is definitely good for special occasions and if you don't mind an expensive bill then you should go try.

Amazing dinner experience from drinks, salads to entrees and wine. Emily was wonderful with helping us on our food choices and on things to see in the area. The ricotta arugula salad was so different but yummy and fresh and the chicken parm ricotta was delicious. My husband enjoyed his Caesar salad and the calamari fra Diablo was deliciously spicy! The negroni was really good too! Excellent evening!

Our server was super sweet. I wish I remembered her name but Saturday night , they were fairly busy and she was nice. We ordered the mystery cocktail and a Negroni, the mystery cocktail was basically just lemonade but it was fine. We placed our appetizer orders and waited a bit, then placed entree orders. Our entrees came out but we never got our apps. Our server was just as confused as we were. We told her to hold off on the apps we may not want them now that we already had our meals, she was super sweet about it. 2 minutes later our apps came to the table. Again - she was just as confused as us. They were gracious enough to remove the apps from our tab because we couldn't take them to go as we're staying in a hotel. There was clearly a breakdown in communication somewhere . Chicken parm was delicious, lobster ravioli wasn't worth the price. The fire shrimp was good. Overall, food is okay, ambiance is nice, we may have just had an odd first experience but if we go back it will be because our server was so genuine & kind about the whole thing.

Surf and turf

Nice and cozy decor. stopped in for dinner on our way to PA. Started with the burrata salad and ordered the Ahi tuna and fried rice, and surf and turf special for our main meals. Tuna and rice were really good( tuna was over-seared but not to a point that I would be disappointed), and the steak and lobster were ok. Ended the meal with a donut cheesecake. staff was pleasant and accommodating. We sat outside but it got really hot and they moved us in. They have surprise drinks on Monday and you pick your spirit and they make you a surprise mix. A little pricy for what you get but overall good experience.

Words can not express the sheer bliss of enjoying my apple pie martini special and our multiple appetizers we shared. This place is absolutely perfection. The bacon wrapped scallops with Thai chili sauce and cucumber were scrumptious. My eggplant stack is somewhat of a comfort food for me because I enjoy my eggplant. This was NEXT level! My friend ordered the lobster Mac n cheese & I tried a bite ~ causing a mini (ahem, mouth explosion).... Everything was so so good. We could not have expected more!

10/10 from the time we walked in to dessert. Our food was slow for a Monday night but everything was amazing. Walking in it's like being transported to a high end restaurant in NYC or LA. Definitely on my list if we return to the area.

Love the atmosphere of this place and our waitress and host were great! We had the calamari appetizer, Cajun shrimp tortellini, and chicken parm ricotta. The calamari and shrimp were good, the chicken parm tomato sauce was a little sweet for my liking. The prices were a little high.

The host was a little unusual, in that we walked in, and he just stared at us and kind of shook his head like he was waiting for me to speak. Most generally a host will ask you how you are, and how many in your party. I had to say hello and let HIM know how many were in my party. Just a little odd. The server was extremely friendly and informative about the popular dishes there. She checked on us often. There were other servers as well that kept us filled on our complimentary rolls and refills. The atmosphere was quiet and nice. Would highly recommend the cheese ravioli. The red sauce was amazing. No picture. Was too busy eating! Had the homemade hummus for an appetizer which was very good. My dining partners had the shrimp ceviche and scallops which they enjoyed immensely.

We loved everything about Garlic. My only negative comment is that they were out of a few items on a Thursday night.

Has anyone used Garlic for their rehearsal dinner? Any info on cost, best menu choices, ect?

I did have a rehearsal dinner at Trackside, which is another sister restaurant and the experience was awesome! Everyone in our party had a great time; not only enjoying the ambiance, but the variety of items in the menu at reasonable prices. If… Read more

Absolutely, unequivocally, hands-down, the WORST Sushi Restaurant I have ever been to!…read more We walked in and were met with the entirely too loud rap music playing punctuated every so often by the sound of a microwave beeping. We ordered a few rolls and watched as food seemingly came out at random and was brought from table to table in search of the person who unfortunately ordered it. Three separate dishes were brought to us by mistake that we did not order until mine was brought over. If you like terribly overcooked long grain white rice, this is for you! The rice was a mashed glutinous mess and dominated the roll. The roll was almost 3" thick and VERY subtly filled. 90% RICE! When I say there was enough of this mushed rice paste to feed a small Vietnamese village, trust I am only exaggerating a little. The eel that managed to make it inside was dry and overcooked by Chef Mike I presume, based on the previously mentioned beeping noise, and the eel sauce tasted like Kikoman Teriyaki soy sauce. I called the waiter over and he took the roll back with no explanation needed. It seemed like he already knew it was going to be bad. My wife had a fried chicken roll abomination of some sort which was somehow hot and cold at the same time. The chicken was over-crispy on the outside and like a rubber band on the inside. I paid the bill to escape and we went to find dinner anywhere else! Avoid this place at all costs. I would suggest eating $1 sushi at a roadside gas station in Altus Oklahoma at closing time before recommending this spot to my worst enemy. I had great expectations for this place based on the other spots with the same owners. The Farmhouse across the street is PHENOMENAL and never comes close to disappointing. NOKA went the other way I suppose.

Originally, I was going to give 3 stars but now it's 1 after speaking to the staff. If you are…read morelooking for traditional sushi, let me save you the trip - don't go here. Don't be misled by all of the 5 star reviews on Google - they're giving out free dessert for Google reviews. I visited on a Wednesday night, not during college season, and there were only five other people in the restaurant. My husband ordered a hot tea. It came out ice cold, and when we mentioned it to the waitstaff, she immediately said "I'll microwave it". Microwave it? Why is a sushi place unable to give me hot tea without a microwave? We ordered the hamachi jalapeno appetizer, and were slightly confused when it came out as nearly a pound of fish. The knife work clearly was mediocre, the yellowtail looked like it had been hacked apart - not thin, clean slices like you'd expect. My husband and I both ordered temaki (hand rolls); I personally ordered the flight - three specific hand rolls. My husband ordered three individual hand rolls - not a flight - because he didn't want the three named in the flight. The wait staff needed to come back to confirm, because they were questioning why my husband didn't just order the flight. Because you can't design your own flight for some reason? My "hand rolls" came out before my salad. These are not hand rolls, I was presented with 3 loosely packed fish tacos, literally served on a taco stand. I was not provided a plate to eat on, so I had to use my hands to catch what was falling out of this taco. The staff watched me do this and did not offer me a plate. While fighting with my fish tacos, we overheard the staff AGAIN discussing my husband's order because the "sushi chef" didn't understand and apparently made the wrong thing. At that point we realized it had been 25 minutes since my food had come out, and nothing had been said to us about the delay with my husband's food. Why did I wait 60 minutes total for 6 fish tacos, when there's only five people in the restaurant? I approached the wait staff to let them know we were disappointed about the long delay between our dishes coming out. Instead of offering any niceties, explanation, or customer service, the staff argued with me that "there's only one chef". When I pointed out the lack of communication, she had no response and the "chef" was giving me the death glare. This is not traditional sushi, they don't have hot water for hot tea, they don't know what temaki is, and don't know how to pace food. They also don't care about communicating with customers. If this had been even a shred better, I'd be here weekly. If you want PHENOMENAL sushi, go to Tokyo Sushi in Easton.
